AMW Gives: "Give and You May Receive" --- CLOSED!!!

Don't you just love how everything is just better during the -ber months?  Traffic gets worst, malls are way crowded than before, but everyone's in a good mood!  I guess that's the power and spirit of Christmas!

Because it's less than 45 days before Christmas, I will be hosting a giveaway to give thanks to all my wonderful readers who's been with me all throughout, reading my crazy stories and enjoying my photos no matter how childish it could get!

This time, the contest is quite different!  I will definitely not give you a hard time but here's a contest that could probably make other people (who aren't even into beauty or fashion) happy too!

"Give and You May Receive" Contest

How to join:
  1. Randomly do something nice to other people starting today (could be your neighbors, your colleagues, your family or even strangers).  This does not have to be huge and you don't need to spend gazillions!  Little things that you think can make the other person smile and happy! (Ex.1 Giving up your expensive coffee drink by buying a box of instant coffee and share to your colleagues.  Ex. 2 Smiling and wishing good morning at the guard of the building you work at.  Ex. 3 Sharing umbrella to someone who does not have one on the street.  Ex. 4 Calling your mom or dad and thank them or tell them you love them.  Etc...)
  2. Come back here and comment on the random good stuff you've done!  Again, it does not have to be big!
  3. Comment with your name and email address.  In this contest, you can comment as many times depending on how many good deed you've done!  (If you've done 3, then comment 3 times with your name and email address).  Never duplicate the same comment though!
  4. Open to everyone across the globe!  Isn't it fun that there's each one of us doing random good stuffs all over the world?
  5. Contest ends November 30, 2010!  There will be no right or wrong answer so I will be using my favorite Fruit Machine to pick 3 winners!
Prize #1
Purederm Products
Thanks to Purederm for permitting me to share these to my readers!

  • Nourishing Repair Hair Mask "Chamomile"
  • Nose Pore Strips "Aloe"
  • Ceramides Sensitive Skin Masque
  • Purifying Dead Sea Mud Mask "Papaya"
  • Anti-Stress Heat Therapy Mask "Apricot"
  • Ultra Hydrating Shea Butter Mask "Olive Oil"
  • Cell Illuminating Hydro Pure Gel Mask

Prize #2
Revlon Customs Creations 020 Light
I bought a couple as "backups" and I want to share one to a reader because I like this foundation!  It's nice because we can adjust the shade of my foundation without purchasing a new foundation especially during the summer when we tan up from the sun!

 Prize #3
Paul & Joe Protective Foundation Primer UV SPF40 PA++
If you've been reading my blog for a long time, you'll know my love for Paul & Joe brand.  I enjoyed using this because it's light on the skin and never feels heavy at all!  I also purchased a couple of these for backup and I will share one to a reader because I love giving and I love you!!!

Product purchased at Rustan's

**Note from Author: Winners cannot choose the prize.  The 3 winners chosen via Fruit Machine will be handpicked again for specific prize number!

Let's have fun with this and I hope after this contest, doing random good things to others will still be in us! I will also join in and do random good things and we'll share through comment section.

I want to thank my Ghetto girl friends for sharing an inspiring story to me which blossoms into THIS CONTEST! :)
Making someone happy in our own tiny ways is the real beauty!
I am excited to hear your stories!  Report back to me and consider yourself part of the contest.
Whether you win my contest or not, I promise you, the fulfillment of helping someone is already the best prize anyone could ever experience!

Keep smilin'
Stay happy!

  7. This morning I bought 2 packs of biscuits and chocolate crackers at 711 store in Multinational Village in Paranaque for my office stash.. while waiting for an fx ride to Lawton, I saw a kid asking/begging for some loose coins.. hearing news that it's not okey to give money because it' s the modus operandi of some syndicate, I just gave the other pack of biscuit and crackers to the kid..

Everyday I go to Greenhills to teach...because of the traffic congestion near LaSalle, I would walk from Greenhills to EDSA to catch bus home...giving myself a good exercise from sitting from 5am to 6pm everyday...I will also share my P7 fare to the blind singers along the streets...they have great voices by the way...

It's a fundraising event of Batch91 for next year reunion. At the same times unfortunate kids can watch a movie with soda and popcorn on the side.
Right now I have 15 kids for the movie night on Sat. Sweet! :)

I saw two kids running towards me, I could tell they were very thirsty from the heat, so I gave them my coke, then I gave the other one a bottle of Gatorade I was drinking that time. I was really happy.

I gave away all my unused/new clothes to my cousins who are having financial problems. We're also not rich but they are more unfortunate than us. It made me feel bad that I'm buying these clothes that I don't even use. When I saw their faces I was very happy, it made my day.

  50. here’s my little good deed:

it all started with a good dream, to be able to do some “food feeding” for children (on my b-day)around our place, and just last year ’09 it became a reality.

This 2010, I thought I will not be able to do it again due to some financial constraints (work load had been so low that I am not able to cope up with some bills :( but then God is really the best, he had given me a new work, and as a thanksgiving I pursued my food feeding ’10, even with just a limited amount of funds to have, still I was able to bring good foods and priceless smiles to the children :). Even if it was not celebrated at my bday which was in August but still I had it done last November 5 :)

When I went back home, I specified to our housemaid to take care of my new dress.
After a few days, I found my dress stained with Zonrox! It had white spots all over it!

But then this morning, my friend (since college) texted me and asked if I can accompany her to Bangkok early next year. Going there with her means, I will have to cancel my plans of studying on January. Going to Bangkok is not a priority for me right now, butI opted to accompany her because she's like a sister to me and I know how much she loves traveling. Accompanying her will definitely make her happy (her siblings are all abroad and she's left in P.I.) :)

I was freshing up at the rest room of a mall after a fun filled day with a friend. I had bubbles and some funky shades for kids in my bag because we used it as our props for the day. I was thinking of bringing it home for my daughter but while I was at the restroom, I was chatting with the cleaning lady and she kind of mention that she has a kid at home. I thought, my daughter has plenty of toys and I think her kid will appreciate the bubbles and the funky shades more. So before I left the restroom, I told her that I will giver her the bubbles and the shades so she has something to take home for her kid. She was thankful but I was happy.

Here at the store, we have an old lady who comes everyday for a sandwich. I already memorized her sandwich and just give it to her everyday without asking what she wants for the day. Hand the sandwich to her and tell her to take care and enjoy her day. That happens everyday since she ordered her first sandwich. She always just smile and say thank you. Last night she phoned us at the store and asked for me..she thanked me for making her sandwich everyday and for making her feel loved. She said she never wants to go out since last year because she's old already and there's nothing that makes her go out of her house. And nobody wants to talk to old lady, she said. But then since she met me at the store, according to her, I gave her the reason to go out and enjoy the rest of her days here on earth..i couldn't say a word to her at first. then i go" Doreen, you're a wonderful person and you deserve to be happy." she again said thank you and wished me good night.. I felt so wonderful. Just making her happy like that made me even love my job more.

Nikks, I am not hoping to win this contest. I just want to share my story. From now on, just like you always say at the end of your blog, I don't forget to smile:)

Just like you always say at the end of your blog, I don't forget to smile now:)

  80. Today was freezing where I live and my cousin has to deliver the paper route. I decided to help out despite the bitter cold air so that we can all finish quickly and get home to warm up ^^

I went to Malaysia last week...while eating, I noticed that most foreigners didn't leave tips for the BAngladesh waiters...
So my boyfriend and I left them a huge tip for being attentive to our needs...
