Bayer Gives: Giftpacks from Saridon --- CLOSED!!!

Happy Saturday!

I know this blog talks mostly about beauty but we all know once we get sick, whatever makeup we have on will be useless as beauty, really is, from within!

Jenny, whom I met from my Vaseline Roadtrip of a Lifetime experience turned out to be a close friend of mine even after the road trip. She disclosed to me a headache tablet she is working on and would like to work with AskMeWhats (the blog) and my readers.  I immediately said yes as "Health, for me, will always be Wealth".

I may be the Energizer Bunny you know, but seriously... I may not talk about it but I do suffer from headache gazillion times.  I do have a mini "pill organizer" inside my bag for those headache tablets and other medications that I may need.

As a Makeup Artist, I CANNOT let headache stop me from my makeup responsibilities!  I cannot imagine doing a full day Bridal Makeup Gig with it!  Please Lord, don't let that happen!

Stressed Makeup Artist = Stressed Bride

Oh, I did not tell you the brand of the new headache tablet yet! *slaps forehead*  It's Saridon!  I have actually seen their commercial on Channel 5 and to be honest, I am afraid to let go of headache tablet I am used to so I told Jenny I will give it a try before I go ahead with the giveaway!  (Yes, that's how much I
love you guys!)
Saridon Information
Generic: Caffeine, Paracetamol, Propyphenazone
Indications: For the relief of mild to severe headaches, relief of pain such as headache, toothache, menstrual discomfort, postoperative and rheumatic pain, and for pain and fever associated with colds and flu.

I saw the word "Caffeine" and I immediately voiced out my opinion on how some people may be scared of taking caffeine as they may have a hard time sleeping at night, fortunately, I was told that the caffeine contest is so minimal that it won't affect much of your "zzz's"

I finally took the plunge and gave Saridon a try when I suffered from huge headache and I had an early 4:00am makeup gig to attend to!  I said a little prayer, popped on a pill and had a goodnight sleep and woke up refreshed at 3:00am!  So far, so good!

Sooooooo..to cut the long story short!  I am happy that Jenny took the effort to give in to my request for my readers.  Giftpacks from an international Pharmaceutical brand -- Bayer!

  1. The worst headache I had was when I was pregnant with my youngest child. I suffered from having headaches during my second trimester of pregnancy it was tough thinking that I might not be the only one having headache but my baby inside me too. I was hesitant to maintain medication even I was prescribed by my Ob-Gyn. Having warm bath in the evening made me relax during the night.

  2. Worst headache? Hmmm. I can't really think of the WORST, 'cause just every time I'm having one,for me it's sooo bad.I really hate it.I can't enjoy my day/night.I'm grumpy.I'm frowning all day.I hate the lights.I can't watch my favorite soap.I just can't be happy, or even smile, I hate headaches. Period. Honestly, the caffeine ingredient, I LIKE! Usually I drink coffee to help with my headache. and go back to bed, to get some zzz. Weird huh, Coffee + Sleep, :) Curious on this one, will Saridon help my bad days? Hopefully.. :)

  3. Worst headache?
It was just last new year's celebration..
i was laughing too much when we were playing 'pinoy henyo' with our relatives & suddenly this niggling headache developed into a full blast migraine-like one.
It surely ruined my new year
    *sigh*

  4. i had my worst headache when i was on an early morning flight with my baby. The pain was excruciating and i kept on drinking water to alleviate it. Luckily, i reached my purse and found a pain reliever, and took it immediately. I also forgot, i missed breakfast, that is why i got that really bad headache. Whew! I ate breakfast instead. And from now on, i won't leave house without taking breakfast and bringing a pain reliever with me.. It pays to be always ready..

  5. Like most modern women of today, I tend to overwork myself trying to attend to all aspects of my life as long as I consume every single energy I have. It was a fully booked weekday. My early day started setting up a booth with my team in a trade show. Physically exhausted yet I needed to talk to the organizers & guests of the event. By lunch time, it hit me. A migraine-like headache. Suddenly, everything is too bright & noisy for me. I can barely complete a sentence because as if someone is pounding my head. I told the team I just need to rest so I headed home. Took a 500mg pain reliever, turned off the lights & locked my self in my room hoping I'll fell asleep. Told myself I should be better by dinner because I needed to attend the Philippine Fashion Week event that night with my friends who I haven't seen for 5 years! And since it's a fashion event, I must NOT look like a zombie! Not sure how long it took me to sleep because it felt HOURS! Thank God I did. Waking up feels like just after a hangover. I guess make-up saved me from looking like a zombie but inside, I felt battered. Everything was good & going into place except when that headache took away precious time from my fully booked day. Haaayyy.

  6. I'm not the type who gets headache easily. But when I was really really stressed out from work plus wedding preps a month before my wedding, I had a major headache. I realized that trying to finish more tasks in that condition will only make things worse for me. So I decided to slow things down. I took a 1 day leave to relax and clear my mind. And that helped a lot since I came back the next day feeling refreshed and energized.

  7. hmm.. I had the worst headache when I had a tooth ache due to a newly-developed tooth decay. It started on a school day, Friday, I was eating my lunch, when I chewed on my food and something unbearably painful struck my tooth like a knife hit my whole nerves or something. The whole afternoon I suffered from the pain, and I went home relying on painkillers which temporarily eases the pain. I can't go to a dentist near us(or the ones we know) because it's a weekend. So I had to chew on my the left side of my mouth to keep the right side from hurting more. Sunday night, I wasn't able to sleep well, because the pain was simply excruciating and the painkillers are of no effect anymore. So my mother decided to give me some mefanamic acid and put me to sleep(which was only about 3 hours). And Monday, finally, my mother decided to have my tooth checked at the school dental clinic(yes, I skipped 2 classes). Turns out my tooth needs to be drilled and filled. And because I was a student at my school, the price for the procedure was pretty much low. And immediately, I paid at the cashier the money for the procedure and went on with it. Yeah the drill pretty much hurts when it hits the tongue, and it hurts more when the tooth that's already been drilled and filled needs to be pressed with a cotton ball between the tooth above the filled tooth and the filled tooth itself. It caused some tingling in the head that I went teary-eyed again. But the feeling of relief finally came and I was so happy that I could finally eat normally again, and sleep soundly at night without having to worry about toothaches and headaches.

  8. with the type of work that I have, I usually sleep 4 hrs a day only. Most of the time I got headache that is why pain reliever is my best friend. And I make sure that I always have stocks of it. I have not heard yet of Saridon, not until your post. And with this, I want to give Saridon a try =)

  11. The worst headache that I had was when my fever reached to 40 degrees celsius. I immediately took 2 500mg of paracetamol that time. But it did not vanished. So I decided to take Mefenamic acid and Ibrupofen to relieve the pain. After this, I was brought to the hospital and I was given paracetamol again for headache and was confined there for 2 days due to urinary tract infection. I can say that headache is somehow part of my life because I grew up experiencing headaches during menstruation period, lack of sleep, stress from school, hang overs and over the counter pills. I always bring paracetamol or mefenamic acid in my bag and i have stocks of medine for headache at home.

  12. i think the my worst and terrifying experience was when i knew i was about to have a migraine attack because my left eye grayed out ever so slowly like tv static and afterwards i can't see with my left eye. my first line of defense was to take my trusty mefenamic acid and hit the sack with curtains drawn, lights out (if it's night) or bury my head with a pillow with the fan blasting away so that its nice, cool and dark. my migraine would usually last a day but this particular attack lasted for 3 days. i was banging my head on the headboard just to make it go away. i was so exhausted that i just kept on sleeping and sleeping until it was gone. it was the first time mefenamic acid fail me.

  13. I occasionally get headaches when I stare at the computer screen or when I read for a long period of time. I noticed that the worst ones usually occur before my period. I'd get cranky at the slightest sound. The pain seems to concentrate between my brows. What I'd do is I'd rub a menthol roll (purchased from a Chinese drugstore) against my forehead, take a pain reliever and sleep it off. If sleeping off ain't possible, then I have no choice but to use the menthol roll, take a pain reliever and plough through whatever I'm doing. But I need chocolates and potato chips at hand so I wouldn't bite other people's head off.

  17. My worst headache ever was just last year. I was sleeping that time when I woke up because of the pain on the left side of my head. I tried to ignore it and sleep again but I just can't, because the pain level is increasing that I couldn't tolerate it already, it also comes with nausea and vomiting I didn't know what to do that time that was around 4:00 in the morning and everybody was sleeping and I am already crying for pain, restless because I puke a lot of times and anxious all at the same time because I didn't know what was happening to me. Good thing that I was able to text my boyfriend and asked him to rush me in the nearest hospital because I couldn't take the pain anymore nor no pain relievers could take it away. I was brought to the emergency room had heplock inserted on me to administer medications they also gave me a fast acting pain reliever and then I was able to sleep afterwards next thing I know is that I am already sleeping on my room. I was then told that I had a migraine attack and that I could experience it again anytime so I make sure that wherever I go I had a meds with me, I didn't know when the headache will attack me! Better be ready than sorry! :)

  24. The worst headache I had? Let me tell you: It was during the Holy Week break, maybe 3 years ago. I was alone in my apartment with a what I thought was a mild, manageable migraine. I tried to sleep it off but I woke up in the middle of the night with the pain so intense I was throwing up for a good half hour. If you saw me, you'd think I was drunk because I was seated on the bathroom floor and holding on to the sides of the toilet bowl to support myself. I tried looking for any kind of pain killer in the house -- naproxen, paracetamol, all those -- to no avail. I tried looking for ice but unfortunately, we were out of that as well. I had to make do with a washcloth soaked in cold water to try to alleviate my pain. I turned off all the lights and tried to sleep. And like most migraines, the pain doesn't really end that fast. It dials down a notch or two until it's completely gone. I had this headache for 3 days. And that's the worst headache I had. Worst of my life.

I had my worst headache when I am reviewing for an exam last term! I sleep late, I don't eat well so maybe that triggered the headache! All I did is to drink water first, close my eyes in a bit, and decided to take medicine! I'm so tired that day so I decided to sleep also! And it did lessened the pain!

  29. The worst headache I ever had happened when I was in college, reviewing for my upcoming board exam. I have difficulty focusing to my studies because of the muscle tension headache that I’ve experienced. It lasted for an hour. I just took my maximum allotment of prescription headache meds and took a lot of rest.

My worst headache experience happened three years ago. I experienced severe headache and pain coming from my nape, then I was also burning with fever. Body pain also aggravated it. I took Saridon (which works for me well when I have fever) then my hubby's family took me to the hospital. My fever lessened but the fever surges back after a couple of hours. After getting the lab results, we learned that I was suffering from UTI. I had to take a few days off from work and take some medication. =(

I hope it wont ever happen again. Ever.

  31. Armed with only 3-4 hours of sleep every graduation season, this is my personal headache for a few months now. This also comes after the first day of classes for the term. Now that's I personally call as major headache!

And how did I overcome it? I filed for sick leave because the mere opening of my eye equated to so much effort to me. I went back to sleep to my heart's desire the whole day and ate some nutritious food when I woke up. DVD marathon, a few hours of tv and a pop of paracetamol also helped me to gain the strength to go to office the next day.
