Weekend Food Trip at: Taal Vista Hotel + GIVEAWAY!

**Thanks to all joiners for the Taal Vista giveaway!  Congratulations to ----

Melody Co

I will be sending you an email so please respond within 48 hours or a new winner will be picked!  Enjoy your Taal Vista Hotel overnight stay with your loved one! :D

For the first time I visited Tagaytay, I didn't go crazy restaurant hopping like I use to!  This was definitely a relaxing weekend as we had lunch, dinner and next day breakfast in one location --- Taal Vista Hotel.  I had this music playing inside my head while I type this.... "We've got it all....for you!"  That's how I would describe Taal Vista Hotel!

Now on to the food shall we?  I am not the perfect person to really talk about food nowadays!  Though my food aversion is gone, I am still very picky with the food I eat!  Fret not though, this vacation was the first time I've had so much food!  As Celine from SM Investment said: "You arrived looking 5 months pregnant and you leave the hotel looking like you're on your 8th month"  *sniff*  So true!

Upon arrival, we were ushered to this gorgeous round table with accents of "crystal tear drops"!  We shared the same table with The Pickiest Eater Richie and his family!

Let's check what's available for Lunch Buffet at Cafe on the Ridge with Heritage Cuisine.  Heritage Cuisine means a collection of Filipino dishes that fully use the produce and ingredients of local farmers!

Saturday Lunch Buffet (with Heritage Cuisine)
Php988.00 (approx $23.50)

Salad Bar Area
I am very careful with uncooked veggie so I went ahead and grab some corn and added some butter!  Mr. AMW and the family enjoyed the fresh greens!

In this area, there were breads (my favorite) and macaroni salad!  The macaroni salad was perfect and it's exactly what my taste bud was looking for!  There were different types of salad using various local fruits and vegetables!

Main dishes
Various meat and fish dishes with a "Pinoy" twist!  My favorite here is the Pinoy Pork Ribs Barbecue.

Roasted pig, which I was told is available on a daily basis, Ensaladang Sigarilyas (Wing Beas Salad) and Moron (a native dessert from the province of Leyte.)

A huge plate of Seafood Paella, which I enjoyed having as my main "carbs" for lunch and I want to hit myself for missing the Mongolian Station!

Pancit Luglog with the wife next to him, Puto and Cheese!  :P

Every weekend, you'll enjoy performances from these talented men and women!  My favorite among all traditional dances is Tinikling!  I used to be a star Tinikling Dancer you know! *winks*

And who could miss out the Halo-Halo station and Fresh Fruits nearby for the figure conscious?

Some unique desserts from Guyabano Mousse Cake, Bibingkang Kalamay, Chese Mousse Cake, Palito and a whole lot more!

This is how Mr. AMW "plate" his lunch!  *laughs* I didn't ask him to take photo of mine as mine looks weird!

Saturday Dinner Buffet
Php888.00 (approx. $22.00)
After the hotel tour, we were ushered to the Magnolia Pavilion for a nice dinner outside the hotel.  The tables were all set with the cute "cubed iced" looking lights in the middle of the table that changes color!

Outdoor BBQ!

Appetizer Station
Here you can enjoy my favorite Banana Heart and Smoked Fish Springrolls, Ensaladang Ampalaya, Wing Beans Salad, breads and more!

2 types of rice, corn on a cob and baked potatoes!  Can I say I am in love with the way they made their corn on a cob?  Mr. AMW and I tried to duplicate the simple dish but failed!  *laughs*  It was very juicy, tender and creamy, no need for butter!

 Main Dishes
Eggplant with bagoong, Seafood Kebab, Chicken Inasal BBQ, Pork Sinampalukan Inihaw na Liempo and everyone's favorite for the night, Beef Rib BBQ.

Local Desserts
Espasol de Queso de Bola, Palitaw High End Roulade, Fried sweet banana rolls and more!

Again, Mr. AMW's "I don't care if you judge me, I'm hungry!" Plating! :D

Breakfast Buffet
Php699.00 (approx $17.40)
First of all, I have to apologize for not taking much photos for Breakfast Buffet as Cafe On the Ridge was packed on a Sunday morning and we were a bit late for breakfast.  Spare the sleepy, hungry pregnant girl!

Omelette station

Pancakes and Waffle station

You can also ask for your own version of scrambled eggs!  The usual suspects like corned beef, bacon, sausages and breads were all available!

Looking at photos above, I want to go back and have another good serving of the food I crave for!  I'm glad to have tried all Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner buffet and so far, me and my family weren't disappointed!

Before I end this post, I'm sure you're all excited to know how to win your own overnight stay in a Premier Room with Breakfast for 2!  Come on!  Are you really excited???  I can't feel it!!! :P

I want to stay at the Taal Vista Hotel because of the beautiful rooms overlooking Taal Lake. Also, the spa room is so inviting I can now feel my muscles relaxing. A stay at the Taal Vista Hotel will be truly one relaxing and perfect getaway!

  4. Since I need the exercise after 4.5 months of going up and down on just ONE flight of stairs, we were toured around the other wing called Mountain Wing which was refurbished recently during the hotel's Christmas Tree Lightning Ceremony and 73rd Anniversary Celebration. -----> Its a weekend getaway yet can do the walking as exercise which i like for healthy conscious like me. Its like your exercising but enjoying the Taal's Vista Hotel view. Aside from that for a traveller like me i appreciate this hotel's size of bathroom which is often neglected on other hotel.

Hi Nikki! I have never been or seen the breathtaking view of Taal Volcano that I always see on pictures. I always want to have this weekend relaxation at Tagaytay but I never had any idea where would be the BEST place to stay in until I see this post. You highlighted the best parts of Taal Vista Hotel and I'm hoping to win this because I just wanted to experience the ambiance, their service and memories to make and cherish in this beautiful place. I would love to bring my sister or boyfriend to this kind of place,I know we deserve to be at Taal Vista Hotel. :)

I have never had the chance to experience the beauty and hospitality of Taal Vista Hotel except that very brief stopover over to admire Taal volcano and that was eons ago!

But having read your post and seeing how much even more beautiful it is now..it's rekindled that excitement to want...and truly be able to experience Taal Vista Hotel:)

My hubby,Keith Adrian adores the countryside and he just hates the pollution and craziness of the metro...hahahaha! I know looking at the very inviting bedroom(wink!wink;)!!)-- that opens up to fantastic and just lovely view that is the Taal Volcano...will truly recharge him--well the both of us really:)

The past year has been trying for us and I just want to be able to have even that brief respite especially for my Mahal! Who knows...maybe this will be the perfect opportunity to finally have a "bun in the oven"!!! So long overdue:(...

    Thank you for this giveaway!

Taal Vista Hotel looks so inviting. I am a spa addict and I sure would want try the spa. The sumptuous buffet you described surely made my tummy grumble. Definitely would want to try the guyabano mousse cake among all the other foods you described.

Best portion on your first blog was about the view from the balcony, munching on the comp fruits while breathing fresh air and chatting at the same time.

There were actually 2 parts from your Taal Vista Hotel post that really make me want to stay there.

1st is when you described the view from your hotel room balcony which gives you the best view of Taal volcano. Before getting married (and when we were still Manila based) my husband and I used to go to Tagaytay for the weekend to escape from the hustle and bustle of Manila and to savor the crisp air and delicious food in Tagaytay. We love Tagaytay so much that we got married there. However, since we already moved to Palawan, it has been almost a year since we've been to Tagaytay but that was only for a friend's wedding and we weren't even able to visit our usual haunts. I'd love to bring my husband (and son, too) to Tagaytay and stay at Taal Vista Hotel for some much needed rest and reminisce old times while savoring the beautiful view of Taal volcano as we experience the top notch services the hotel brings to their guests.

2nd is the part where you described the kiddie area. It would be wonderful if we as a family can enjoy the luxury of staying in this hotel and, at the same time I'm sure my son will be so happy playing in the kiddie playground and Kids' corner. These will totally make this a really fun and relaxing family vacation.

    Have a happy pregnancy!

You're right. We don't probably need to do jumping jacks in there but I love spacious bathrooms and I saw a tub peeking from behind in the picture. Great for having a warm, luxurious bath with aromatic bath oils (which I will surely bring thanks to that post) or a bubble bath to cap off a RELAXING getaway.

I would also love to have a photo op with that fireplace!

I like the part where you take photos from the balcony of your room. View is very much important to my family when travelling. My kids would also love the pool area and kids corner while me staying in the spa room with my husband. Ambiance looks great with feeling of luxurious stay there. Definitely would love to stay there.

  76. I'd love to experience the Mountain Wing! Almost all of us know how refreshing a whiff of the mountain breeze is, but couple it with a spa treatment for two, your day is made!

What enticed me to stay n Taal Vista Hotel if possible in the future is their dinner buffet and the outdoor BBQ. I rarely see hotels offer a nice relaxing view with an elegant dinner to offer at the same time.

The Kid's Corner is what made me want to stay at Taal Vista. My son would surely love to stay there while hubby and I are relaxing - or being pampered at the Spa!

Definitely the balcony! One cannot expect a great get-away to Tagaytay without having your own private view of the volcano. Well, add to that the exceptional room that promises a well-deserved R&R from the toxic city.

Taal Vista Hotel is less than an hour away from our home, and yet i haven't gone there. But, the ambiance and and the looks of the pictures in this blog, gave me an idea that this hotel will give me a one spectacular experience. As a graduating student and a future working girl, I would like to celebrate on this hotel and serves as a graduation gift from you. I always think positive! :D

I had been here before and I would recommend that it is worth staying. Service and facilities are good, plus the location near to Taal. A great scenery one should not miss taking a glimpse.

I really like how you captured the bedroom and spa area from your blog. They are really enticing. I hope to be able to lay there, not minding the time, sleeping with my hubby and two babies. Being able to relax with my family in this amazing sanctuary is a gift I'll always wish to get.
