Hi everyone, weekend is within reach! I'm sure a lot of my readers here are also blog readers of various websites! From beauty, fashion, food, travel and a whole lot more!

I myself is a "blog-hopper" grasshopper (sorry I just need to say that) :P. Today, I want to share a blog that I got to learn when I attended the Dove meeting last year! Various articles were written by professionals on different topics and I find myself browsing the site and have been enjoying the articles posted! As you know, learning is FUN and we should never stop!

DOVE Real Beauty Basics

One of the many articles that caught my interest is the Breaking the Beauty Myth: How to Get Rid of Eye bags.

I have been asked so many times by my friends and blog readers on how to really get rid of eye bags and I think this phrase which I copied from the site is a start for us to learn the root cause before we can target on finding ways to lessen or if all else's fail, cover them! Before we beat them, we have to join them and understand them! :)

Tip for the Day: Primers

Good morning loves! :) How's your day today? Mine will definitely be filled with caffeine + loads of love! :P I am going into a super busy February and the coming months so please bear with me if your requests won't come in as fast as a lightning! I will try my best to accommodate all your requests (Yes, even nude painting of myself) *gasps*

You should know by now that I'm JUST JOKING! :P

Today, I will continue my ~~Twilight~~ saga, I talked about my takes on Foundations that I've tried and heard about in THIS POST and a lot of you have been asking me to continue the series!

So let's talk about Primers, primers that I've tried and used and see which ones could work for you too! :) Keep in mind to purchase at your own discretion, I write this post base on my personal usage and some to my clients.

For Dry Skin

Why should dry-skinned individuals use primers? Well, it's a matter of choice but I suggest we do especially when attending special events. :) Can you imagine a well-polished face cracks and peels after a couple of hours inside an air-conditioned room? Charge it to experience, been there, done that! :)

SPEND

Becca Silky Hydrating Primer

I have been using this on mature skinned clients and they love the scent too! This product feels like moisturizer and gets absorbed into the skin easily.

Benefit's That Gal Brightening Face Primer

Brightening is one way to fake healthy glow of a skin that is dry and you can definitely get that from Benefit's That Gal!

Paul & Joe Moisturizing Foundation Primer

I believe in its name because it felt like a light moisturizer upon application! It gets absorbed into dry areas easily thus creating a nice, plump base to start with foundation application.

SAVE

Any moisturizer that works for you or your client. Serums are wonderful option too! I love serums from GoodSkin Labs.

For Oily Skin

I have used a lot of primers for Oily skinned as most of my clients suffer from this skin type! Here are my top choices as of the moment.

SPEND
Smashbox Photo Finish

This is one of the best oil-control primer available in the market and has been sold out when it first came into our market. The problem with this product is the presence of "silicone" in it's list of ingredients and may cause breakout to some people! That's why I do not use this much on gigs as I don't want my client to wake up with pimples even though they tell me they aren't allergic to any ingredients.

Smashbox Photo Finish Light

I have finished 3 bottles of this and I really recommend them to brides! This is lightweight and water-based. So far, I do not have any texts or calls from clients telling me I ruined their skin! *knocks on wood*.

Make Up For Ever All Mat Face Mattifying Primer

I have tried a sample size of this and the texture and effect is similar to Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Light.

Laura Mercier Oil-Free Foundation Primer

This one does not contain any silicone ingredients and it feels like an oil-free moisturizer when applied. The good part of using this is that foundation can be applied with ease minus the oily feel.

SAVE

L'Oreal Paris Base Magique

I can't seem to find really good, inexpensive oil-control primers and one that pops inside my head right away for SAVE is L'Oreal Base Magique! I have used this on clients who were off for an outdoor pre-nup pictorial! This may not have the best oil-control power like those on the SPEND portion but for its price, it exceeds my expectation.

Ellana Make It Last Makeup Primer

I'm not sure if this is still available but I got a sample size of this and have used this on oily-skinned friends and it does work wonders. This product contains silicone.

Revlon Beyond Natural Smoothing Primer

Keep in mind that this could feel a bit heavy on skin and must be applied sparingly! Not all skin type will agree with the ingredients of this primer! I find this primer works better on male clients!

For Normal/Combination Skin

I try not to put much primer on a normal skin but only apply on areas that oil up or dries out! I do use 2 primers at a time for one client as we should really put on products where it is needed!

Paul and Joe Protective Foundation Primer UV

Cover FX SkinPrep Primer

My dearest blogger friend Gracie sent me this and it pains me as I've been using this a lot on clients of any skin type and it worked on all of them! I am done with this tube and I guess I have to search online to repurchase this!

SAVE

You can go for any "save" items from above and apply only on areas needed.

Please do keep in mind that less is always more, try not to put a lot of products on your face as possible! One huge tip: If your current foundation or setting powder gives you the Oil-control or Hydration your skin needs, then you can always skip primer application and your skin will thank you for it! :)

AMW Reviews: Bobbi Brown Lip Color and Rich Lip Color

I realized I own a couple of Bobbi Brown lipsticks but never really talked about it! After I search through my "lipstick case" for yearly "checking" of expiration and threw a couple of lipsticks out that has been around for 3 years, I went on and enjoyed the "sight" of my lipsticks! Then I saw 3 tubes of Bobbi Brown Lipsticks and wondered why they where packaged differently.

One has Gold, is actually called Lip Color ...

And the plain black casing called Rich Lip Color SPF12...

By the name itself, you can probably guess which lipstick has "MORE" on moisturizing department!

Bobbi Brown Lip Color says ---

Bobbi's original formula treats lips to rich color with a soft-matte finish. Infused with Vitamins E and C as well as Beeswax, it also moisturizes and comforts lips.

AMW says ---

Pros

The gold in between gives a nice, classy look.
No weird scent nor taste. (unless expired, I've thrown one out!)
Has a nice pigmentation.
Though this is just a regular lip color, it does not dry out my lips or make it flakes like other lipsticks.
Gives a nice hint of sheen which looks good on lips.
Li p color stays longer than regular lipsticks.
Creamy but no heavy feel.
Build-able.

Cons

Could get a bit drying for VERY dry lips!
No SPF.

Simple matte packaging.
Pigmented and build-able shades.
Has a slight sheen and creamy minus heavy feel.
No weird scent or taste.
Has SPF 12.

Cons

Can make very DRY lips look dry!

Overall

Both the Lip Color and Rich Lip Color in my opinion has a slight sheen to it! I guess the choice is between Rich Lip Color having SPF12 while the other doesn't. Both felt the same on lips, creamy yet very light, the effect of both are the same! It is also a choice between the shades you may want from both collections.

Tips

Very dry lips should apply lip balm or lip treatment prior to ANY lipstick application.
All of them have a slight sheen to it and if you want to mattify the color, you can either press with a tissue or apply a bit of loose powder on top of a tissue paper pressed on lips to remove shine!
Use a lip brush for a more defined lips.
NEVER share lipstick to other people, if needed to, wipe the tip with a napkin.
Always store your lipsticks in cool, dry place.
Take note on expiration dates! If the lipstick has a weird scent or taste, throw them immediately!

Will I repurchase?
Yes!

To whom do I recommend this to?
Lipstick lovers! Who can have enough lipsticks? Not me!

Eureka Moment: Travel Friendly Accessories Organizer

AMW checking in to greet everyone a gorgeous day! I haven't been traveling outside the country since NAPBAS Blog Awards 2011 but I think this deserves a blog post as I have loads of friends (who are into fashion) who booked several flights within the year because of the inexpensive fare from various airlines! Yes, I will be talking about "how to organize" your accessories during travel and it is a shocker to see "organizing tips" on my blog because I am NOT ORGANIZED! *crosses fingers due to lying* :P

I guess I haven't updated how I organize my accessories for years so here you go... my current accessories organizer in which you can find hanging inside my room! :)

Thanks to my best friend for gifting this to me for Christmas and it was a perfect gift! I was just about to tear my hair apart! :P I do apologize though because I don't know where she bought this and I can't even ask her! It was a gift! I just can't ask!

The gorgeous pink accessories organizer can store earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets and a whole lot more! :)

Though I want to put my organizer up as "THE EUREKA MOMENT", sorry.... NO CAN DO! I can't scream Eureka and not know where it can be bought and how much it is so...I will share to you instead the inexpensive, smaller accessories organizer I recently found!

Once folded, the size of this is almost the size of an iPad, just a bit bigger! The organizer is made of cardboard with different plastic sizes and mesh sewn together. Hooks are also available to hang necklaces and prevent them from tangling!

AMW Reports: Clinique Celebrates Real Beauty and Art

Clinique Philippines celebrates Real Beauty and Art and I was lucky enough to be invited at the event place White Space last January 19th.

Once I got in, I was transported into a different world... a world of beauty and grace with huge screen of various Clinique products that flashes as cocktails were served! I took a glance at the sides of White Space and saw various art designs.

The gorgeous ladies who were my "cocktail table mates"

After catching up with friends from Clinique and meeting new friends from various publications, the event started with a breathtaking performance.

It was lovely to see Ms. Joey Mead! I have seen her hosted a lot of events in the past but her makeup that night was my favorite of all! I can't help but found myself whispering at Shen telling her how fresh and flawless her makeup look! I can't help but compliment her lip color too!

Mr. Paul Slavin, VP and GM of Clinique Asia-Pacific, gave a short welcoming remarks

In Mandarin or Cantonese, both meant the same thing. I am wishing everyone a wonderful Year of the Dragon! Dragons are fierce and I believe each year, we will always face loads of challenges and hardships but let us not forget to count the blessings, the happiness and smiles that the year could give us! It really pays to look things positively as every challenge seems to be lighter with a positive outlook in life!

Easy to say...hard to do...but trust me...Practice Makes Perfect :) Staying positive takes a whole lot of practice and let's all do this together okay? :)

As you all know, my brother is back for a very short vacation so most of the days will be spent bonding with the family! Over the weekend, we stayed overnight in a hotel within Metro Manila, not because we want to waste our money but because we want to bond 'til late at night minus the long drive to provinces! Staying in the hotel is the best option as we get to huddle in one room and chat the night away!

Technically, it wasn't Chinese New Year yet so I'm allowed to wear black and I pulled out one of the most comfortable one piece outfit I got last year from Grubbies.

I paired it with my super comfortable flats from Ipanema, did a lot of walking in this outfit and it was super comfortable I can run in this! (Not poised to look at but YES can do!)

Since we also took the chance to update our Family Picture! I changed the rope to a more "formal-looking" belt from Celine (Got this on a super good deal! It was 50% off sale last year!)

Slipped on the "unexpectedly" super comfortable wedge shoes! They were on Avon's December brochure (they have a newer e-brochure HERE) for less than Php700.00 (approx $16.00). Yes! Avon makes very comfortable shoes (I am quite surprised about that too).

The ankle straps are garterized and they aren't made too loose nor tight! This pair of shoes definitely fits like a glove! :)

*laughs* Must be the idea of going out for food tripping! :P

Once, a reader asked me why I don't showcase "AMW Fashion", well, I told her it will be embarrassing to do so as I always go for COMFORT and others may find it boring (not to Mr. AMW! He's required to like the way I dress!) *laughs*

I want to thank Grubbies for the super comfortable Adara dress, I have worn this a couple of times and even tucked this in a pair of shorts and it can make a super comfortable top too! :)

Weekend Food Tripping at: Torch Restaurant

Happy Sunday! By the time you're reading this, I'm probably on my way checking-out from our short overnight stay at Crown Regency Hotel, Makati! It was a quick bonding with my family as my brother was back for a short break for Chinese New Years!

Happy Year of the Dragon!

This post is actually a food tripping post me and my friends have done over a weeknight! My Ghetto Girls --- Bea and Shanna and myself have decided to celebrate Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year or even post Valentine's Day *lol* on a relaxed night (meaning: Not much traffic). It was a wonderful idea as the drive was easy and we arrived Torch quite early and we got good seats! :)

Truffle Fries

Php234.95 (approx $5.50)

Crispy potato fries tossed in truffle oil and

served with our very own Peppermill dressing. Their best seller!

Potatoes served are sliced thickly yet, very crispy on the outside and the fragrant truffle oil gives a unique taste to the french fries eating experience! Though pricey at first glance, this is worth to try.

Vongole Pasta

Php324.95 (approx $7.60)

Mildy spiced sauteed baby clams in garlic olive oil

Though allergic to seafood, I gave this a huge bite minus the clams and thought to myself how it's worth the allergic reactions I had 10 minutes after! Noodles were served "al dente" and the tomato based sauce was just right, not overwhelming at all! All the spices played inside your mouth as you bit on the crunchy garlic bread!

Philly Cheese Steak Pizza

Php369.95 (approx $8.60)

Classic Philly cheese steak sandwich filling on a fresh,

oven-baked thin crust topped with mozzarella and cream cheese

Very inexpensive considering we weren't able to finish this up and the 3 of us were full! The different cheeses served with good servings of Philly Cheese Steak bits bursts into the mouth like a "bomb". The best part was the sides, very crunchy thin-crusted pizza that's obviously made fresh upon order! Sinfully good! So good I actually ordered another one for to go!

Sorry I didn't get to remember the name as we were busy catching up! All I know was that the white thing in the middle isn't vanilla ice cream! It must be home made cream or something then the round thing on the side are cute pancake balls! :)

Service was impeccable, the server was very attentive to our needs and food was quick! The place was jam packed but we felt comfortable and it was a wonderful time to really bond and catch up!

AMW Reviews: Etude House Wannabe Color Lips in #2 So Hot Pink

I am actually MORE excited with Chinese New Years than regular January 1st New Years. The reason is, my brother (who's working overseas) usually comes home for a short vacation and it felt so good to spend quality time with complete family members! :)

To jumpstart the lucky Year of the Dragon, I will be reviewing something "Supah Bright"! A lipstick that can make my teeth look whiter! :) My mom and dad may have the shock of their lives seeing their "bunso" (youngest child) sporting a bright red lips which they don't see much but...I'm old now!!!! *laughs*

Pros

Very cute, stylish matte black packaging with girly design.
The lipstick is very pigmented.
The lip color adheres into the lips quite well and stays longer than regular lipstick.
Has a very faint scent that's not overwhelming.
Non-drying as compared to other matte lipsticks.
Good price point for something as pigmented as this.
Though matte, it doesn't look dry on lips.

Cons

For those who love to read ingredients, can't find it in box.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think this is a limited edition? (I hope not)
May still be drying as compared to moisturizing lipstick. Only drier lips individuals may feel this.

Overall

At first glance, I thought this lipstick is similar to those "kiddie lipsticks" that has the fruity scent that looks so great on packaging but would fail on application! This is not the case! The Etude house Wannabe Color Lips has everything both kids and adults may want! (though I highly recommend kids to stay away from such color..hehehe). The lipstick is exactly what we, as young girls, would want to put inside our tiny purses at the same time, the quality is really good even professionals like us would love this too!

Tips

Always prep your lips with lip balm prior to lipstick application.
After lip balm application, wait for a couple of minutes and do makeup on the rest of your face, blot with tissue paper then proceed with lipstick application.
For the color the pop out even better, use lip erase or conceal your original lip color prior to lipstick application.
For a glossy finish, top with your favorite lip gloss.
Feel free to change a bit of the lipstick shade by topping with a colored gloss.
Use lip brush if you plan to use this for clients.
If possible, wipe off the tip of the lipstick after application or wipe your lips prior to lipstick application.

Free brush is quite nice to use.

Personally, I like the boxed packaging is something I like because it helps save environment. (I know some people doesn't like this though).
Pigmented deep pink shade with tiny specks of gold that's not too huge.

Color lasts for me. Oily skin may need re-application.
A little goes a long way! (using the right brush)

Cons

Price!
The box and the way we need to put back the plastic cover between the blush and brush plus the cover may be a con for others.

Overall

This blush reminded me so much of Nars Orgasm but has the Bella Bamba has a deeper shade. I think the only similarity between this and Nars Orgasm is the tiny gold speckles that gives an instant "lift" to your overall look!

The Benefit's Bella Bamba blush is pigmented and gives a nice healthy glow from fair to dark skin.

Tips

Wash the free brush that comes with the Bella Bamba.
I prefer using the free brush for a more defined blushing.
Use a big powder fluffy brush for a very natural flush.
Using the free brush would be much better as compared to regular blush brush as the free brush that comes with the box can grab more pigment as compared to synthetic blush brush.
Always keep the "plastic cover" to prevent accidents and ruin your blush.

Nail Art Tutorial: Year 2012 Nail Art

Nail Art Day today! I haven't been creating much as I got into the "nail art bumming" stage plus I left my nails "nail polish free" for a couple of days before I went for brights again to jump start the Chinese New Year!

I do plan to create a "Water Dragon" inspired nails but checking out water dragon photos, they would either look weird on my nails as they may look cute as a cartoon but they may end up looking like a donkey on my nails! *hahaha* I do not plan to add up Donkey as part of the 12 animals!

I planned to create something bright and Very Oriental instead....

Chinese Lantern

with a Chinese Character "Fu" which means...

Luck or Blessing

Step 1:

Apply 2 coats of any bright colored polish of your choice. Since everyone's been using red for CNY, I went for bright orange instead! Thanks to dearest friend (#evurl girl) for this bright orange colored Color Combos polish which was very pigmented and dries up quickly!

Keep in mind that I apply my choice of base coat on any polish application to protect my nails from yellowing.

Step 2:
With a bright colored RED polish from Paul & Joe, I created a spherical shape or you can just dot this with the nail polish brush.

It will come up like this?
You can do random dots making it not so "even"

Step 3:

With a thin brush or in my case, L.A. Art Deco Polish in Red, I draw strings for the lantern.

Optional: At the latter part, I've decided to use black for the strings to show up even better against the bright orange polish.

Adding a bit more lines at the bottom part to act as drapes

Step 4:
Since my 2 way nail art pen in yellow already dried up, I used a yellow acrylic and a brush and draw the outline of the lantern with bright yellow shade as shown on photo below.

Step 5:On my 2 thumbs, I created bigger lanterns. Making sure the lanterns are completely dry, I used a black 2 way nail art pen and wrote a Chinese Character "FU" to bring in good luck and blessings.

Did you know that: I originally wrote "Long" which means dragon but my nails are too small so the strokes got jumbled up a bit as my pen is a bit watery, I actually had to remove everything and re-do one thumb nail :)

So instead, I wrote this...

Step 6:
Once the Chinese writing is completely dry, top the nail art with a glittery polish and top coat of choice. This trick prolongs your nail art for at least a week or more!

Voila! Chinese Lanterns on nails

For most Chinese, a lantern brings light and gives a cheerful environment.

True or not it doesn't hurt as they look quite good as well!

AMW Makeover: Gotta Wake Up Early For This!

Good Happy Humpy Wednesday dear readers! Did you have a wonderful sleep?

Today is AMW Makeover day! I am so lucky to have the chance to prettify the gorgeous people as I get to talk to them and know them too!

This, I have to say, is the earliest, non-bridal makeup gig I've done so far! The call time was at 4:00am so I had to be awake by 2:45am to at least prepare the stuff and put them inside the car, get ready and of course, at least prepare MidFast (midnight snack+breakfast). *hahaha* In unforgiving hours like these, coffee are definitely my bestest of all best friend!

Joey is my old client, I did her makeup around 2 years ago and it was great to see her again!

Skin Condition: Normal to Dry

Request: Natural Makeup that's kid friendly

She is a gorgeous mom and I need to do makeup on her that lasts! She wouldn't have time for touch-ups so I prepared her skin by moisturizing the dry areas and primed the rest with an oil-free foundation primer from Laura Mercier. I applied HD Foundation on her care of Graftobian and applied cheek tint so whatever that will be removed from powder blush, there will be a "backup plan" underneath!

I went for more eye makeup application as compared to the first time I did her makeup as she's more used to having her face done by other people and she's very comfortable having slightly more makeup to show up on photos!

I finished the look with pink blush and pink lips, she can definitely sport this as she looks young and sweet even with kids! :)

Skin Condition: Combination

Request: Nothing much, just to look good

Client B has combination skin (combination normal and oily) and she does suffer from acidic skin condition, meaning, foundation darken on her after application. I prepped her skin prior to foundation application by applying primer. I used MAC's Studio Fix liquid foundation in a shade lighter to even out the color of her face and neck! The rest was pretty easy after foundation application as her features are very easy to work with. I did a semi-smokey eye makeup look to focus her eyes a bit as I contoured the rest of her face and showed her cheekbones even more!

A peach colored blush was used at the same time, a deep coral lipstick to complement her skin tone.

Skin Condition: Normal

Request: Very natural, no white cast makeup!

I understood Client C right away when she held my hand and requested for a makeup that doesn't look like a clown! I told her not to worry as I don't like her to look like a clown either! For someone who's already a grandma, Client C has wonderful skin as she takes care of it by using moisturizer and probably smiling at all times! (Told ya! Smiling is the secret to fountain of youth)

I used GSL Tri-Aktiline Total Face on her but making sure she does not suffer from any allergic reactions to skincare ingredients. After making sure the moisturizer gets absorbed into the skin, I picked out a moisturizing foundation from I'Nuovi and applied it all over her face with a patting motion to "maintain moisture".

After the "base" was complete, the rest was easy as I applied a neutral colored eyeshadow and applied a natural pinkish shade for blush applied on the apples of her cheeks going upwards which gives an illusion of a higher cheekbones.

Skin Condition: Very Oily

Request: to make her look young

I do apologize as it was a super busy morning we forget to take a photo of Client D's Before photo. Most mature skin individuals suffer from dry skin but not Client D. Client D has a skin of a teenager and suffers from very oily skin! I had to prep her skin carefully not to make her skin dry after oil-control primer application. I pat everything gently and checking on areas that may have dried up. Giving time for the primer to sit in, I chose an oil-free foundation from her which was MAC Studio Fix. I carefully waited to see if the foundation turns dark on her then adjusted a bit with powder foundation.

She had her eyebrows tattooed and I'm so glad to have bought the K-Palette Eyebrow Liner to fill in the rest of the gaps and I am positive it'll stay the whole day!

Client D is very comfortable with parties and makeup and she advised me to go dark on her makeup and I obliged but still making sure to make her look like herself still, and not somebody else.

It doesn't hurt that these wonderful clients put up an extra accessory --- SMILE.
They all look gorgeous even without makeup as their personalities shine through! Such a heart-warming family!

I Wonder: "Do you carry more or less makeup today?"

Looking back, it amazes me how I bring less and less makeup since I became a professional make up artist. Looking at my Year 2008 post, I talked about what's inside my bag and make up bag!

Let me show you the photo I took 4 years ago

A couple of months later, I updated the photo and it changed to this....

Still a lot!
Today, I usually just carry a powder or powder foundation and a lipstick and lip balm. Usually I don't even bring a makeup pouch with me anymore!

I don't know why if it's a makeup artist in me that tries not to lug as much makeup anymore since I've been doing that for makeup gigs and I want to put to rest, or could be, I am growing older so putting on a lot of makeup is not a thing for me anymore (not unless for special occasions).

Now that I'm thinking about it, I think I knew the answer! I have probably learned so much from my own product reviewing that I get to use the right products and I can get away with less retouching for the day and the fact that most products that are available in the market are targeted on different skin types and I was able to use the one that's perfect for me!

Less retouching = less lugging of makeup!

January 11, 2012 in the afternoon, I received 2 sets of Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair via courier. Quite surprising as I wasn't able to attend the lunch meeting. I was told that one is for me to review and the other one for blog giveaway. *yay*!

Everything was blended well together that gives a wonderful fireworks inside my mouth! :) Will definitely order again.

The porkloin is very tender to taste, this is Mr. AMW's meal but I had a chance to try it out and indeed, they are thinly sliced but not too thin for us to taste it. The special gravy does not taste like the "instant gravy" one and it was a lovely meal together with garlic rice.

This is one of the most tender beef tapa I've tried! I don't know why I may not be a meat lover but I do have a soft spot for beef tapa and this dish gave a huge smile on my face! YES, this was MY order and I will definitely go back for this!

When I received Revlon's Colorburst Lip Butters for review, it took some time for me to stare at the lovely 4 shades because ---

1. The packaging - I really like how the cap is the same shade as the lipstick.

2. The color - don't you just love the color even before removing the cap?

3. The name - LIP BUTTER

Pros

Great packaging! Revlon never fails with lipstick packaging! I like the easy access to the right lip color just by looking at their packaging!

All the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters are sealed upon purchase.

Ingredients list listed (but I need someone with good eyes to help me read it lol!)

Can be applied sheer to pigmented.
Applies smoothly.
Available in, I think 20 shades? (Not sure how many they have locally).
Each of the lip butter shades have a unique "sheen" in which, you can skip lip gloss application if your lips aren't very dry.
Doesn't feel heavy on lips as opposed to other lipsticks.
No weird scent.
Not waxy at all.
I actually like lipsticks to be shaped like the Revlon Lip Butters as they are easier to apply.

Cons

If they don't have "lip butter" in it's name, I would say it's okay but I was expecting these to be more moisturizing!
Re-application will be needed, just like regular lipsticks.
Regular lipsticks are 3.8g, this is 2.55g (which can be a PRO if you easily get tired of a lip color)

Overall

The Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters are in between tinted lip balm and lipstick, they're not as moisturizing as tinted lip balm but they are not completely drying as regular lipstick!

Tips

Since these aren't totally moisturizing, prep your lips by using your choice of lip balm prior to application.
Before applying the Colorburst Lip Butter, pat on excess moisture with a tissue.
Darker colored shades can be applied with a lip brush.
To remove excess moisture from Revlon Colorburst Lip butters, pat translucent powder on lips while covering it with a tissue.
Try on testers as shades may look differently on tube and on your lips!

Will I repurchase?
Yes.

This is a super toned-down version of MAC's Red She Said with a whole lot of moisture!

Pink Truffle

If there's one lipstick that looks exactly just like my lip color (with the added moisture), it would be Pink Truffle! The name could have pink to it but it's more of a deep coral shade. Since this is the better version of my lips! If I want to look effortlessly good, I would pick this up! This may turn out a bit more pinkish to other girls with light colored lips!

Strawberry Shortcake

I can't put it if this pink lipstick is on a cool or warm tone. I guess it goes in-between. If I want something that would give me a baby pink color minus the nude and sickly look, I would go for this!

A medium or dark colored eye makeup would be much appreciated for someone with the same skin tone as mine! Medium to dark colored skin can sport this...on its own!

Cupcake

Cool toned pink lipstick that makes me look sick without any eye makeup on but this looks wonderful on dark, smokey eyes!

Though I want to be selfish and want them all, help me pick one and I'll put the rest inside my train case :)

Readers' Corner: On Eyelash Adhesives and False Lashes

Reader's corner day! I have loads of questions that I need to unload and one of the most number of queries I recently got was about false lashes and adhesives! Ah hah! A lot of you are probably braving up wanting to get the thick, luscious-looking lashes that mascaras can't do much anymore?

*high five*

I'm sure some of you were born with thick, long eyelashes so I won't get hurt if you close this site! To the rest who kept on reading? Now, let's start fluttering those ~~false~~ lashes! We have hope! :)

One of the most used Eyelash Adhesive brand is called DUO. I have finished a tube of DUO which I got from dear friend Gracie a couple of years ago! I used this brand especially for Brides. This brand can be purchased at MAC store for approximately Php700.00 (approx $16.00) but the downside is, these are out of stock most of the time!

Thank God for bazaars! When I visited Rockwell's Moonlit Bazaar last December to visit my dearest friends Sophie, Jheng, Shen and to meet Sol of Digital Traincase in person, lo' and behold...--- DUO Eyelash Adhesive right in front of me! I grabbed one right away! I do apologize I forgot the exact price but it's definitely less than Php700.00!

To those who are on a budget and still want to try some eyelash adhesive that works! I have 2 which costs less than Php400.00 (approx $9.30). One is the Ardell Lash Grip Adhesive and the other one is Andrea ModLash. Both brands came from the same manufacturer (Past review HERE). I have finished both tube (in clear and black) and I repurchased Andrea not because I like one better than the other but I can't seem to find Ardell at the Beauty Bar! Must look for them at Watsons maybe?

If you ask me why I own various brands? I really can't tell! It's nice for a makeup artist to have lots of choices! I usually go for the DUO on brides though as it's tested to stay until removal time! And so far, none of my clients complained about lashes falling off or allergic reactions! *knocks on wood*

Now let's proceed to false lashes! When I was just starting up on makeup, I would go to Landmark and purchase various false lashes! (Read the various lashes I've bought from Landmark HERE) My favorite is the one called Natural and it looks absolutely natural you can even wear them daily (if you're comfortable enough with application.) I realized after, that these natural falsies may look great in person but I find them not enough on photos. I tried going for the thicker ones but they felt a bit too plastic-y.

Off to search for inexpensive yet good quality ones! I shifted to ES Lashes from KKCENTERHK.

I was initially sent some for review but I love them so much I repurchased and hoarded a lot that the customs officer lifted an eyebrow on me thinking I'm importing some drugs. *laughs* (ES review HERE)

What about those who are uncomfortable with online shopping?

Thanks to my one tiny trip to Moonlit Bazaar, I learned that Beauty & Minerals are now selling Flutter Eyelashes and I swear, these are somewhat similar to the ES Lashes --- quality wise. Since I got a number of natural lashes ES for Bridal clients, I am glad to own more dramatic ones for future shoots! Check out the names!

A box of 10 pairs costs Php350.00 - 400.00 (approx $8.00-$9.30), if calculated, each pair costs much cheaper. You can purchase these at Beauty & Minerals.

Use this to create a better "winged eye" look!

I can't wait for them to stock up on "natural" lashes so I don't have to order online and wait for shipping and probably have a police waiting for me outside the post office as they have a police dog sniff on my false lashes! (too imaginative, I know!)

For personal use, it doesn't hurt to purchase them in bulk as you get to throw some pairs after a couple of use! False lashes do wear and tear so purchasing a box won't harm your health :P To some who really can't go for bulks! Here are some singles that I've tried that works!

First time users can go for 3s pre-glued lashes

International readers may probably go for Revlon Fantasy Lengths Self Adhesive lashes. I have personally tried these too as I was gifted by Beauty Blogging friend Toma but I would say, the 3s Brand have stronger adhesives meant for our weather!

Various Asian cosmetics brand like The Face Shop also makes good-looking lashes for around Php100.00 (approx $2.30) a pair. My favorite is The Face Shop's XLH lashes which I used HERE on my How to Apply Falsies tutorial.

Other good brands I've used for Brides are Ardell lashes that I ordered from International sites.

A favorite of mine to use for Brides or Pre-nup shoots are the 110 Demi Black

Or if brides are more adventurous and wanted a bit of drama and still looks great and natural on photos, the 101 Demi Black is also a wonderful choice!

Ardell lashes cost approximately Php400.00-500.00 (approx $9.30-11.60) a pair.

If you have the budget and you can apply false lashes on yourself! There's the GlamBox Mink Lash which costs a lot but worth it as I'm still using these on special occasions and they still work like a charm!

Each pair costs Php1,500 (approx $35.00), looks crazy on packaging but oh-so-worth it when worn! Photo can be seen HERE.

If false lashes are considered life and death, then...feel free to indulge on MAC and Shu Uemura lashes! I own a pair of MAC lashes which I'm still saving up for that special moment....definitely not a wedding but could be for my Second Wedding Ceremony at the age of 80? :P

Important tips to remember ---

Wear false lashes that sits comfortably, cut them if necessary to prevent sharp edges.
Once the lash glue creates stinging sensation or redness, do not use the lash glue anymore.
If you plan to re-use falsies, always remove excess glue and clean with eye makeup remover.
Store false lashes in a tiny container free from dust and pollution.
For the lash glue, once the scent changed, toss them right away!

Having a pretty face is nothing with body odor! We should all know by now how important hygiene is and when we talk about hygiene, it pays to take care of our "pits".

I may have tried various deodorant or anti-perspirant but there's one brand that Mr. AMW keeps going back to --- Yes, he complains how this is difficult to purchase and I would accompany him to look for this and stock up.

When Nivea sent me this for review, Mr. AMW said: "Yay! That's mine!" and I said: "Sorry honey, no but I will review this! The more you love it, the more I'm intrigued with my competition" *winks* That's so low of me to think of a deodorant as a competition! But who cares? I'm just a girl who gets competitive! *laughs*

Overall
Can't tell if the product can whiten both our underarms but what we've noticed is the fact that this does not darken our underarm and it works on both anti-perspirant and deodorant department!

Tips

If you are not comfortable with stick anti-perspirant, you can choose between the roll-on or the spray!

Do not apply with broken skin.
If signs of allergic reactions occurs, stop usage immediately!
After plucking or shaving, try not to apply any deodorant or anti-perspirant as it may cause allergic reactions.
Always store in cool, dry place!

Will I repurchase?
Mr. AMW finished 3-4 of these. I'm currently on my first and liking it, so yes!

Girls and even boys! Everyone can use this!

AMW Makeover: Trial Makeup

Happy Choose-day! :) Everyday is a Choose-day for me as we have a choice...a choice to be happy! I always proclaim each day as a happy day and most of the time, it worked!

I will be sharing to you my first few makeovers for the year! Let's start with a Trial Makeup! Anne, my dear client, disclosed to me how much she likes to have a very simple and natural-looking makeup for her special day! I agree, I myself went for that look on my wedding day year 2007.

Once I saw Anne, I told myself it won't be hard to prettify such beautiful face with such beautiful smile!

Anne's Skin Condition ---

Very Oily

A bit of redness on some areas

To start off, I was glad to know Anne applied moisturizer prior to me going to her place. I spritz a bit of water to freshen up her face and found Anne to have oily skin (Super Oily on the T-Zone).

I primed her face with Laura Mercier's Foundation primer, pat it gently until it gets absorbed into the skin and proceeded by looking for the right foundation shade.

As I was waiting for the primer to set in, I spot corrected her redness with various correctors. Spot correcting on redness on the sides of her nose, her under eye circles and freckles.

I went ahead to mix cream foundation as I do not seem to have the exact shade for her and applied it all over the face adding up as necessary but making sure not to pile on too much to make the bride-to-be feel uncomfortable.

Making sure areas that need to be covered are completely covered "up close", I went ahead and set the foundation and went straight to the brows.

The shape of Anne's brows are perfect, I just filled some of the gaps and lightened up her brows a bit as her hair color is medium brown! Anne requested for a not so heavy eye makeup and I just enhanced it with a bit of eyeshadow and eyeliner. No falsies yet (as she's not going anywhere after this trial makeup) but I will definitely use one on her wedding day!

Nail Art Tutorial: Ode to my Dogs..Arf! Arf!

Happy Start of the week! I will be starting the 2nd week of the year with a Nail Art Tutorial! It won't be related to new year or even anything too fancy as I would like to make this special post for my dogs!

Yes, to some who don't know, I am proud momma to my Pomeranian dogs! A brief background on my love affair with the furry friends.

I used to be scared of dogs, we may have a fair share of taking care of Chicken, Duck, Rabbits, Turtles and Fishes but never in our wildest dream to own a dog! Which is understandable as my brother used to suffer from asthma.

When I was working as a teacher in China, one of my Dutch colleague asked me for a favor, a favor I nearly "accidentally peed on my pants". He will be traveling with his girlfriend to Netherlands for a month and asked me to help take care of their 12-year old Shih Tzu. He was with "Di Di", the Shih Tzu, when he asked for a favor and I tried to be friendly with this dog and reached out to pat his head and he want "Grrrrr" and nearly bit me! *shudders* Great! I told myself I'll be losing one finger in a month but I said "yes" anyway as I want my colleague to enjoy his much awaited vacation!

To cut the long story, the first few days was the most challenging days but the days passed by with me walking to the mark, crossing the street (without leash), eating meatballs from 7-11 every night and jog with "Di Di". I got sick and had "di di" watch me while I sleep and he would wiggle his tail each time I wake up for the much awaited "morning bonding". He got sick and I remembered rushing him to the vet with my bike as it was snowing as I covered him and put him in front of the bike basket as I whispered to him "Everything's going to be alright"

Can you imagine how hard was it was to say goodbye to "Di Di" when the owners returned? I gave my mom a call and I was in tears and my mom (who dislikes having dogs around the home) said: "Don't worry, we'll buy a dog when you return."

And it happened, when I returned to Manila for good....the rest was history! I may not be with Di Di but I have my own babies!

So to kick off Nail Art Tutorial for the year 2012, this post is dedicated to my dogs....

"Ode to my Dogs --- Arf! Arf!"

The drawing isn't as cute as the "real thing", but who could draw nail art as cute as one of my Pom... Char Char?

To start off the nail art design, I used a bright yellow base coat that I got from Revlon. The new Revlon Top Speed Fast Dry Nail Enamel in Electric. Keep in mind I applied base coat to protect my nails.

For Paw Prints

With a nail art dotting tool or any round shaped object, draw random dots that are medium sized as shown on photos below. Imagine "Dominos".

With a smaller dotting tool, create 3 dots on top of the medium sized dots for toes.

For the Bone

With the same matte black polish, create a thick straight line about 2 cm as shown on photo below.

With the same medium-sized dotting tool, create 2 dots on the tip to make the shape of a bone.

For the Face of the Dog

With a gray polish from Essie, I created a pear shape with the use of the polish brush. This does not have to be perfect.

While waiting for the pear-shaped dog's face to dry, with a dotting tool or nail art brush, create the dog's ears.

Once the base of the dog's face is completely dry, create triangular 3 dots for the eyes and nose.

With a thin nail art brush or a brush from L.A. Art Deco polish in matte black, draw the mouth.

It doesn't hurt to add up a bit of freckles!

Once the nail art designs are completely dry, top your design with a sparkly top coat or plain top coat.

Voila! If this nail art design is too much for you, you can always start by drawing paw prints as it's easier :)

Weekend Food Tripping at: Hanobe

Happy Sunday everyone! I can't explain how busy my Saturday was but guess what? Here I am surprisingly still alive and kicking to share a food post to make you...drool! :)

Whether holidays are over, our family love to bond with the presence of Food! Each time I dined in a restaurant that gave me good experience, I can't wait to share it with the family and invite them for get together!

The get together happened at Hanobe Restaurant. Surprisingly, the first and last time I dined in this restaurant was the year 2009 when it bears the same name but the restaurant ambiance looks super different! (Read my post HERE.)

Here's how Hanobe Asian Food House looks at present....thank God for early arrival I was able to book the "private" room.

AMW very serious on preparing for the night's dishes

Same owners or not, I'm just glad the restaurant looks bright, ambiance is better and everything felt just right! Wonderful glass window and clean utensils!

Hanobe Global Fried Rice

Php688.00 (approx $16.00)

Yes dear, it's not a cake but fried rice!

This looks weird to most of you but one of the best tasting and unique fried rice I've tried. The rice were wrapped inside egg with sauce that I can't seem to pinpoint but it tastes very good! Nothing weird and the sauce blends so well making the rice easy to chew and swallow! I can even eat this on its own!

I have to report that this was a huge hit! My family usually cannot finish a large order of Fried Rice but they finished this in an instant! Will definitely order this again as this was my second time trying out this unique, super cute-looking rice!

Sweet and Sour Fish

Medium for Php428.00 (approx $9.95)

I am very particular with the freshness of the fish and it did not fail!

Crunchy fish coating blended with sweet and sour sauce! Perfect with the Global fried rice rice!

Beef Tenderloin

Large for Php748.00 (approx $17.40)

I am comfortable ordering beef tenderloin in this restaurant that's why I went for large right away! I have tasted this and was impressed how tender and juicy the beef was! The taste of the sauce was just right. Nothing overpowers the other!

3 Kinds of Vegetable Dish

Medium for Php388.00 (approx $9.00)

I just wanted something healthy and green that I went for my gut feel for 3 Kinds of Vegetables. It was a hit as the taste was unique!

Pork Spareribs

Medium for Php368.00 (approx $8.56)

Another hit! Mixed with loads of garlic and the pork is quite meaty and not much fat! The vinegar that comes with it is a match made in heaven!

Braised Stuffed Tofu

Medium for Php338.00 (approx $7.80)

Ahhh, tofu! What more can I say? In any Chinese Restaurant that I visit, a tofu dish is a must and this one is quite unique as the tofu was stuffed with meatball and the added slices of Asado (BBQ'd Pork) gives a different texture! One piece is enough to keep you full! (Not true! I had 2! hahaha)

Cha Misua

Sorry can't remember the price

I think we over-ordered as we didn't even get to the half of this dish! I am not a fan of Cha Misua as I like my noodles to have more sauce! (Ex. Birthday Noodles). I ordered this because I know my nephew and sister likes this!

Various Korean-made Ice Cream

Ahhhh after a full stomach, a light, not-too-sweet ice cream is the best way to finish off a good meal! Melona has been around on most Korean restaurants and I'm glad they are making their way to Chinese restaurants! I am not a fan of "anything too sweet" so I am loving Korean made ice cream! They taste really good!

The restaurant serves their food quick and fresh!
Servers are very friendly and they attend to our needs in as quick as they can!

Tip for the Day: Foundation

I have been asked by many...through Cbox, email, twitter, or even in person on what's the best foundation for them. I am very honest when I say..."It Depends..."

It depends on your skin type, skin condition and it really depends on YOU. So what's the point of making my top picks? To serve as a basis, but of course, this post will always be open for further comments and suggestions! I am just a beauty blogger and a makeup artist, I am in no way an expert in guessing the best foundation for each individual so please try on testers, ask a favor from a friend who owns ton of makeup then try the products before you start spending your hard earn money on them!

Keep in mind that I haven't tried all foundation mentioned below, some are highly recommended by my makeup artist friends! :) It doesn't hurt to share then you pay me back with cash. *winks* :P

For Dry Skin

The best person to ask if you have dry skin aside from oldies? ME! *laughs* Just joking, I'm sure a lot of youngsters (aside from myself hahaha) suffers from this skin condition either "They were born with it" or they were under skin treatment which led them to have dry, flaky skin! Here are some of my best bet for dry skin individual after we *high five*! :)

SPEND

Clinique Supermoisture Makeup

I have used this way back when I wasn't even blogging! This gives out the "moisture" any person would want and I have a couple of friends who have dry skin and swore by this.

MAC Mineralize Satinfinish SPF15 Foundation
Thanks to Sis Gracie for sending me this so I was able to try this. The good thing about MAC Mineralized Satinfinish foundation is the fact that it never feels heavy but it gives a nice, healthy sheen after every application!

Revlon Age Defying Makeup with DNA Advantage

I recently road tested this and it worked on my skin and never felt dry and it gives me the moisture I need for the whole day!

Cover Girl Advanced Radiance
One of the first few drugstore foundation I purchased when I told myself I need to stack up on makeup for school! This one has the added moisturizer and the name says it all "Advanced Radiance". Anything with Radiance would be great to create a fake, healthy looking skin.

Mary Kay Timewise Luminous Wear Foundation

I have tried this on both mature clients and myself. Since my skin isn't that dry as compared to mature clients, I like the fact that this product never settled into fine lines. The effect came out really well.

For Oily Skin

I am used to doing makeup for oily skin as most of my clients surprisingly suffers from oily skin! Keep in mind that if you have very oily skin, on oil-control primer will still be needed prior to foundation application at the same time, a good oil-control setting powder would help prolong the "matte-looking" finish of your skin! It doesn't hurt to carry oil-control blotter sheets with you at all times!

SPEND

Make Up Forever Mat Velvet
I have once chatted with a fellow makeup artist and when I asked about her best bet foundation for Oily Skin, she blurted out Make Up For Ever's Mat Velvet. I was told this foundation does not only give a matte-looking finish foundation but it does help control a bit of the oilies. I will probably purchase this once I'm done with my current foundations.

MAC StudioFix Foundation (Liquid)
Ah, need I say more? I've seen these Studio Fix Liquid foundation been used on various makeup artists and you have to agree when I say, most of our makeup-loving friends own at least one of these! The downside though, not all skin would agree with the ingredients of MAC SF Foundation. I have friends who love this product dearly but it causes their skin to break out the day after usage!

OCC / Graftobian Airbrush Foundation
You don't need to go out and purchase an airbrush equipment but the tiny tube of airbrush foundation are great for oily skin!

MAC StudioFix Foundation (powder)

Since oily skin individuals are "in dire" need to set their foundation, a powder foundation with oil control is best and MAC SF Powder Foundation gives extra coverage and removes shine!

Revlon ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex
This is the drugstore version of MAC Studio Fix Liquid Foundation (in my very humble opinion). Even the scent is similar and it gives a good coverage and can hold up to humidity.

Maybelline Mineral Powder Foundation

Most inexpensive oil-control loose mineral foundation that works!

Mary Kay Timewise Matte Wear Foundation
I surprisingly reach out to this eventhough I have dry/combination skin. I like the super matte finish it gives with an extra glow!

For Normal Skin or
Combination Skin

Normal skin individuals are lucky as they get the liberty to try different brands and types of foundation as most of them would work for normal skin. I also included the list for combination skin as most the brands listed below can also be used for Combination skin. It helps to use an oil-control primer applied only on areas that oil up and leave the rest as is.

Inexpensive and it works on all skin type! I put this on Combination skin's Save portion because I can use this liquid foundation on both my dry-skinned days and the not-so-dry to normal skin days!

Though this comes in tiny amount of product for the price, I still call this inexpensive as a little goes a long way with this cream foundation. I have used this on both normal and combination skin and the effect was consistently good!

Today, I am off for 2 makeup gigs and I have more faces to prettify and it helps to share what I learn as each experience go! There's no 100% way to know which type or brand of foundation is right for you unless you went out there and give the product a test. I am not requiring you to spend your money to buy different foundation from here and there, but, let us try on testers, borrow from friends, do some research! At the end of the day, no one knows your skin better than yourself! :)

AMW Reviews: Etude House Party Queen

My 2012 New Year Nails are simple and sparkly! Like I said, it goes with my favorite sparkly gold shoes which I recently bought!

Enjoy my simple EH Party Queen Sparkly Nails as you won't see much simple looking nails from me in the coming Nail Art Posts! *laughs*

To those who wonder, this is how the Etude House Party Queen Gradation Nails set look like! I'm ready to review this after having this on my nails for almost 2 weeks!

EH Party Queen is mostly "GOLD". The base coat is a light peachy pink polish with sparkly gold sheen. The second polish is a simple glittery polish with finer specks of gold as opposed to the regular gold polishes we can find in other drugstore brands. The third and the last polish to finish the gradient nails is the most unique of all! Reminded me so much of a Deborah Lippman chunky polish that blogger friend Mhean gave me during my visit in Singapore!

Pros

Cute packaging. Both the carton and the bottle! The bottles reminded me so much of Anna Sui.
Though mostly written in Korean, the picture instructions are clear enough!
All 3 shades are consistently good.
All of them pigmented enough.
The polish set can last IF set with a good top coat.
Simple gradient nail art that looks like you had it done in a professional salon.
The glitters are super shiny! Even after more than a week!
Inexpensive.

Cons

Nail polish application newbies will still find this difficult to use.
The third polish (with chunky glitters) can be rough to touch even when set with a clear top coat. It takes time to get used to it.
Super difficult to remove!

Overall

This set reminded me so much of the BW gradation polish set my best friend bought for me in Hong Kong. Both have the same polish base and glitters BUT the Etude House Party Queen is unique because of it's round, chunky glitters that shines even after you had the polish on for almost 2 weeks!

Tips

Always use a protective base coat of your choice to protect your nails from yellowing. My favorite is the ZOYA base coat.
Always top your nail art designs or plain nail polish with a top coat to keep it shiny and protect from chipping.
Wait for each polish to completely dry before you top the next one.
Nail polish application (especially on gradient nails) doesn't have to be perfect! So give yourself a break if you think the polish application isn't perfect! :)
Feel free to use the glitters on top of a different polish shade which you currently own to have variety!
To remove the chunky glitter, you can leave a cotton pad with nail polish remover on top of the chunky glitter and gently push with a nail stick.
Nail polish shades doesn't have to adapt your age! Just work it out girl! :)

Will I repurchase?
Yes!

All the Nail Art Tutorial commenters who said they can't paint their nails! hehehe

2 Coats application of the base color

Once the base color is COMPLETELY dry, starting at the middle portion of your nails, apply the 2nd glittery gold color with a light, feather-like stroke.

Feel free to add more if you like. Once you're done, make sure the second polish is completely dry and proceed with the chunky glitters. A bit tricky to apply at first but I like applying it with a "patting" motion. Try to concentrate more gold glitters on the tip of your nails.

Stop, look and re-apply more if needed!

Voila! Sparkly gold gradient nails you don't need any extra sponge or makeup sponge applicator during application! The easiest gradient nails I've done!

The lip gloss stage has been skipped for quite a while because of the existence of moisturizing lipsticks! Don't we just love how companies are reinventing their products making them worth while for most of us with different needs?

I hate my lips, I won't lie! They can get as dry as "hell" (as if I've been there *evil laugh* maybe! :P) and it pains me to see how gorgeous a lip product can be on tube and how I can murder them in an instant by applying them on my "oh-so-dry" lips!

This year, I am not giving up! Let me share to you my thoughts on the new Mary Kay NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss that I recently got. NouriShine --- not a bad name!

Tinier gloss packaging which makes it easy to do retouch without people noticing!
The sponge applicator feels good during application.
Lightly scented.
Texture feels like creamy lipstick but not heavy at all.
Both shades I got came out with 2 different finish, one is plain glossy while the other one has shimmers.
Product stays just like regular creamy lipstick.
I can apply this even without lip balm underneath. (I have tried applying this on super dry lips and it helped ease dryness.)
Lips felt "immediately" moisturized after application.
Gloss/shine is just right, doesn't look like I just finish eating an "oil-infested" food. (ex. Lechon!)
This may be pricey at first glance but considering I do not use a separate balm or lip gloss when I apply this product, I actually save more! (approx .02-.04 fl.oz. difference with other gloss)

Cons

Not easily accessible on counters or malls.
Pricey to others - but I do not mind since I have very dry lips!

Overall

This goes to my favorite lip gloss at the moment! Some gloss have enough shine but not enough pigment, while others have enough pigment but dries out my lips! The Mary Kay NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss has the perfect balance of shine and moisture with the added gorgeous colors that can be seen even with dark pigmented lips like mine!

Tips

Red passion is best used for girls who want to try the red lips but is afraid of the super bright effect. Mary Kay's NouriShine Lip Gloss in Red passion comes out in deep red with a bit of shimmer.
If you like the effect to be "matte", blot your lips with a napkin after application, re-apply and blot again!
Wipe the sponge applicator with a clean cloth or napkin after application before putting it back on tube.
Never share lip gloss with others. For makeup artists who plan to use this on clients, use a separate disposable lip gloss applicator.
To create different lip color, you can apply your favorite lipstick shade and top it with any shade of Mary Kay NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss. It pays to experiment!
Though this can be easily removed by just wiping your mouth with a napkin, it's better to wipe it with a makeup remover for lips! (to remove the extra glitters on some shades.)

Will I repurchase
Yes.

To whom do I recommend this to?
Anyone who has a budget for the wonderful creamy lip gloss. I would say this is best for people who suffer dry lips and wants the gorgeous lipstick colors!

Remember this gorgeous Million Dollar Fragrance Bottle of DKNY Golden Delicious EDP? I did hope to take a glimpse of this in person but I guess it did not arrive our shores! BUT! Something better happened!

I was able to do a "Cyber Interview" with Chanel Iman, the girl who unveiled the DKNY Million Dollar Bottle during the Press Event with body guards beside her to protect the bottle!

How chic can protection get?

To those who think Chanel Iman looks familiar! Well, I'm sure you've seen her either on Vanity Fair, Vogue or during the Victoria Secret 2011 Fashion Show! She's one of the VS Angels! I am not surprised DKNY chose her to be the face of the Million Dollar Fragrance!

AMW: If you have your own DKNY Million Dollar Bottle, where will you keep it?

Iman: That's a good question. I don't know what I'd do with my own million dollar fragrance bottle. I'd probably have it right next to my bed. That is a precious piece and Id want to keep it close to me.

AMW: What's your "must spritz" DKNY fragrance when you go out on a date?
Iman: I love DKNY Golden Delicious for the weekend.

Good day everyone! The first week of the year is almost over and I am very excited for my first makeup gig for the year this coming Saturday! :) Will share to you my experience of course!

Today, I will be sharing a review done by another family member! Oooohh I love how I'm turning my whole family into "mini" AMW reviewers!

Side story (as usual) before I start with the review, I got the Pure Beauty UV Whit Sun Protection Compact during an event when we were introduced with What's New at Watsons for the latter part of 2011. The sad part though, as I was fixing my stuff, the Pure Beauty UV White Sun Protection compact slipped through my hands and the rest was "crash..boom..bang!" history!

The next day, I visited a Watsons store and called my sister and asked what "beauty related" item she needs, she told me she's going for face powders and I immediately grabbed a new one as this isn't pricey at all for a Korean branded product.

Of course, the li'l sister have to ask..."So, big sis, how did the product work for you?"..then I share to you her thoughts!

Pros

Simple compact with cover that serves as a barrier between sponge and powder.

Sponge is made of good quality.
Powder applies smoothly.
Has SPF and its SPF40!
Gives a natural, matte finish.
Does not dry out the skin.
Packaging can be refilled by either the same Pure Beauty refills (I am not sure if the refills are available locally) or any other brands as this pan is similarly shaped as other brands'.
Inexpensive for a good product.

Cons

Limited shades available. I don't remember if they have other shades available but they don't have shades for our darker skinned friends.
Multiple retouching may be needed for super oily skin.

Overall

My sister loves to use the Maybelline Clear Smooth Shine Free Powder and she told me this is even better! I guess the texture won her heart. Most powders come in a bit grainy but for this particular brand, it feels like creamy and soft yet it doesn't easily crack on pan!

Tips

Wash the sponge even when newly purchased.
Wash or change the sponge every now and then to prevent bacteria buildup.
To use as setting powder, use a big fluffy brush and gently press the powder on areas that needed the oil control or shine removal.
Never drop the compact and store them in cool, dry place.
If you are like my sister and loves to do touch-ups midday, use a powder instead of powder foundation to prevent "cake-y" look.

Will she repurchase?
Yes!

To whom do I recommend this to?
Anyone into retouching! My sister told me she retouches at least 4-5 times a day and this does not cake up on her!

AMW Reviews: Revlon Age Defying with DNA Advantage Cream Makeup

When I got several Revlon foundations to test, I have to admit, the brand doesn't fail in making good drugstore foundation! My first Revlon Foundation was the Custom Creations Foundation which I bought online and purchased 4 bottles as each bottle can give out different shade which I think is one of the best liquid foundation to try when you're starting up on makeup or when you're a student of makeup artistry.

Thanks to Revlon as they are coming up with different kinds of foundation for different skin type! Revlon ColorStay Foundation in my opinion is meant for oily skinned individuals while Revlon's PhotoReady Makeup is best for Normal or Dry Skin.

What about our mature, very dry skinned friends? There is indeed one product that Revlon recently came out with...called Age Defying!

Revlon Age Defying with DNA Advantage Cream Makeup says ---

Pump packaging! Very hygienic and easy to control the amount of product to come out.

It doesn't hurt to see a swirly image of a foundation against the thick, lightweight plastic bottle.

No weird scent.
Has SPF20 - which is needed on regular days!
Feels light on skin for a cream makeup.
Made my skin look glowing after application.
Has light, medium to full coverage depending on how much you apply.
Easy to blend with fingers, sponge or brushes without much effort.
Gives a radiant, glowy finish but not as sparkly as Revlon's Photoready!
My skin is moisturized and doesn't dry out.

Cons

The foundation doesn't last the whole day when not "set" properly.
Normal, Combination, Oily skinned individuals will find this too moisturizing for them to use.

Overall
The Revlon Age Defying with DNA Advantage Cream makeup is lightweight, fragrance-free, has spf20 and gives a good amount of coverage.

Tips

Pump approximately 2x and apply at the center of your face going outward.
You can use the same foundation as a concealer.
Use your choice of foundation primer as I believe having a barrier between the skin and foundation is always good.
Though the product contains SPF20, do not skip your sunblock application.
It is best to set your foundation with an oil-control powder if you have oily skin.
For mature, very dry skin, you can apply blush directly and leave the other areas as it is for a healthy glow.
If you have ultra sensitive skin, do a patch test prior to applying this product all over your face.
Carrying oil-blotter sheets won't hurt to blot that extra grease/shine.

Will I repurchase?
Yes.

To whom do I recommend this to?

The product itself contains a lot of moisturizing ingredients which I personally believe would work well on dry skin individuals as the added sheen would give a "healthy glow" to dull skin.

AMW Version: New Year To Face 2012!

Happy Start of the week and start of 2012! How was your New Year's Eve and New Years' Day? Mine was spent with the "Ohanas" *laughs* Mr. AMW and myself are starting to call both our families "The Ohanas" to those who knows Stitch from Lilo & Stitch..."Ohana means...Family!"

I just have to share to you what I realized over the year end, "Welcome 2012 Countdown", I used to think my parents are grandparents were a boring bunch when I run up and down the stairs asking for more fireworks and "Wa Tu Si" and couldn't understand how they could just stay at home, watch movies and just ignore the great fireworks outside! Would you believe...I am THAT mature to do the same? I stayed at home most of the time enjoying glorious food and enjoyed the good line up of HBO movies! Come on guys, you have to tell me if you're the same! I'm not alone on this right? :D

To start off 2012, I did an AMW Version to face the bright year with bright-looking face! :)

I do think the lipstick itself is bright enough :P

Prior to eyeshadow application, you can choose your preferred base, in my case, since my lids aren't oily, I used The Body Shop Special Edition Kajal Eyeliner in Evergreen. Application shouldn't be perfect, use your fingers or brush to blend before you proceed with step 1.

Step 1:

I took out Beauty Pro Cosmetics' Crazy Colour Palette and applied "matte green" shadeon top of the base. This came out matte green just like on pan.

Step 2:

To add up the holiday sparkle, I took out my The Body Shop Shimmer Cubes from The Colour Spring 2010 collection and applied the metallic aqua green on top of the matte green to give a bit of dimension. Use a pencil brush and apply the similar color on the lower lash line.

Step 3:

From the same TBS Shimmer Cubes collection, use the sparkly peachy shade an apply on the brow bone area. This is okay if you're off to create a "sparkly" eye makeup! For regular days, use matte eyeshadow. Fill free to add this shade on the inner corner of your eyes for sparkles!

Step 4:

Instead of using a pencil liner, I wanted to create a "smoked out" eyeliner look (meaning, you won't see any harsh line). I used a matte black eyeshadow from The Beauty Pro's Crazy Colour Palette . This technique is best for small eyes as it gives an illusion of a bigger, rounder eye shape.

I added a bit of liner near the upper lash line to define the shape of my eyes. I used my favorire K-Palette 24h Real Lasting Eyeliner WP in black.

Curled my lashes and applied Bobbi Brown Everything Mascara in Black. Using SANA Styling W Brow, I filled the gaps with the pencil liner portion and lightened my brows with the light brow gel.

As some of you may have read it over my twitter page, I had only half a day of shopping prior to Christmas and would you believe? I was able to finish my shopping list and MORE? (More = Shopped for myself) *laughs*

Right when my wallet went from size 12 to size 0, I passed by a FLY Shades booth and I remembered my first FLY shades was bought when I was just graduated from College. It brought back memories and I went to check out their collection for old times' sake!

Hahahah Even if it doesn't, I may probably throw away my cash on this because I can't resist the 101% cuteness! Thank goodness the quality of sound was good! I bought this at a bazaar for Php590.00 (approx $14.00) and I believe you can still buy them online!

P.S. Different colors available!!! SOoooooo cute! (Okay, how many times did I mentioned the word CUTE in one paragraph?)

Remember my review on Charm Essentials' first ever Vegan Brushes? (click HERE for review) Sophie handed me the gorgeous pink brush holder and she excitedly told me she will be selling these Vegan Brushes in a set! Great deal for Php2,500 (approx$60.00). Would you believe her gift was a great timing as I brought the set with me in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and I can do makeup on myself and other people with the 14 pcs Vegan Brushes!

This Christmas, I've received a lot of wonderful gifts like one of my favorite Lipcare brand Nivea! I have the whole year to finish these up and it won't be difficult as I was able to finish THIS, THIS and THIS in no time and I'm glad these are finally available locally especially since the "Liposan" that I got is from my blogger swap from Germany! :)

This is it! Several hours left and we're all ready to bid 2011 goodbye! 2011 may be the best or worst year to some of you but I believe this is yet, another memorable year for all of us!

Because I have been blogging for a good 3 years going to 4th, I am comfortable enough to share to you --- "AMW's Highlight for the year 2011!"

The year started when I was asked to join the Bobbi Brown's "I am Pretty Powerful" campaign . It was one of the first few post I poured my heart out and shared to readers my background as a Business English Teacher in a University in Hangzhou, China. It was also the first post that I shared the "chubby Nikki" photos which I am proud (even at present) to show to everyone how the "Chubby, Round-faced Nikki" survived the harsh weather in China plus being the youngest and only Asian Foreign Teacher at that time.

Yesterday and today!

Comes the month of February, it was a first for yours truly to be in front of a camera! Being a makeup artist, I am used to prettifying people who will go in front of a camera or video but it was nerve wracking for me when Tek Tok TV invited me to be a guest for one of their segment!

I guess being a teacher for almost 4 years helped reduce the nervousness of being on a spotlight!

To end the first quarter of the year, things started to get very busy when I was invited by Pond's Philippines to take part in the Pond's Flawless White Challenge (read experiences HERE) with Shobe Sophie as my diary as I do the testing! We were able to finish the challenge and Sophie and I got the special award called "Editors' Choice Award". Mission Accomplished! The nerd side of me would like to add, the added cherry on top of the ice cream would be having my face (together with other gorgeous bloggers) plastered in a wall! I have to admit, I want to take the huge wall home! :P

If having my face plastered on a huge wall isn't enough, AMW went digital! Nokia offered to have AskMeWhats available in OVI Store! Who would've tought AMW can be an app now? :D

Before the first half of the year ended, the kiddie side of me was super happy when I got the invite to visit Yakult Plant! To those who don't know, going to factories is one of my greatest love as I love seeing how each product was made! I can still remember the first time I visited a factory and it was Carlsberg Brewery! (Great! I was only 12 years old then! *laughs*)

The next experience, I have to thank my Nuffnang Family for the various movie invites from X-men to Transformers! As if those special movie screening weren't enough, they even had a Nuffamily Day (report HERE) were I enjoyed an almost whole day with fellow Nuffies at the same time, re-create what the movie Tangled have done.....

And just when I looked back on how much I missed teaching, the wonderful gals from GlamBox Airbrush Cosmetics invited Sophie and myself to be Airbrush Makeup teachers for a day! It was fun day for Achie and Shobe to share our knowledge of airbrush at the same time, meet wonderful girls who are as passionate as we are!

Aside from makeup, my nails have brought me places! I mean, I've had random strangers coming up to me telling me how much they like my nails! My nail art designs have always been a good conversation starter at random events! Popularity isn't a reason why I've been doing various nail art designs from Plants vs. Zombies to Pacman, Frankenstein, Angry Birds! As you can see, my nail art designs are usually in line with an event or occasion and I feel like doing nail art is like putting on makeup! I may not have creativity on paper but if I can show them on nails and faces, why not?

Speaking of nail art, wonderful people from Style Speak, India contacted me again for their Nail Art Special Issue! I was challenged to do Water Marbling Nail art and see the pride in my face when I saw a hard copy sent to me! I will never get the hang of seeing my works printed on glossies! This was my second time to contribute for the magazine and I appreciate their trust!

And like I said, my nail art tutorial have brought me places! Even at Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho! It was challenging to do Angry Birds Nail Art Tutorial right in front of a camera but I survived! Thanks to the friendly staffs and producer from the said show for making me feel at ease.

As I was jokingly telling Mr. AMW he needs to find me a manager because "A Star Was Born" *laughs* the same month, I was invited to share my makeup tricks for Rainy Season at Net 25's HOMEPAGE! This was done LIVE on tv and I was as nervous as hell! I think I got too nervous I used gay-lingo in front of a camera! (Mr. AMW told me that after the show but I can't even remember the exact word I blurted out!) *laughs* Oh well, no one noticed I guess! :P

To complete the "Feeling Media Star", thanks to Nuffnang for choosing me as Blogger of the Month of August! My dream to be on a radio show was answered as I talked about my blog together with fellow Nuffies from Australia!

Because of this experience, it was the makeup artist's day off and I get to experience having someone put makeup on my boring face! *wooooppeeee*! It was also a first for me to have my photograph taken in a studio by THE Niccolo Cosme at the same time, styled by Rain! Because of that, I shall be forever grateful because I have a professional photo to share to my grandchildren! (smile and read my experience HERE)

As the real world is slowly creeping into my mind, I was brought back to reality with Clinique's Real Women Campaign Party! It doesn't hurt to be dolled up or be on a radio show or tv show. In reality, I do have a full time job, I'm a daughter, I'm a wife, I'm an employee, I'm a friend....there's so much things to do amidst our thirst for Fantasy! Thanks to Clinique Philippines for inviting me and one of my reader to enjoy how it feels to be a REAL woman! It was an evening of makeovers, getting to know our skin and the event ended with lovely dinner! Who says beauty has to be "magazine" looking? Each of us have a beauty in us that is so unique because God made us so....

Speaking about real beauty, who would've thought Ms. AMW could pass up for a judge at Ms. Silka 2011? I was surprised when I was invited to be part of the prestigious panel of judges! I have to be honest when I got "chills" and "goosebumps" when Mr. Luis Manzano introduced each of the judges and I was clearly introduced as "A BLOGGER" (bloggers...REPRESENT!) It may sound nothing to the audience but it was everything to be acknowledged as a Blogger! As you all know by now, this started out as a hobby, a venue for me to share my thoughts and make new friends, who would've thought bloggers are starting to have a VOICE now? :)

The event was a huge success and I was able to share wonderful goodies from Silka to 3 lucky AMW readers! :) Contest ended yesterday and winners will be announced 2012!!! :)

Let's not forget, this year has been the ultimate year were my mom got "miraculously" better! After more than 2 years of treatment (and still under treatment for now). She has gone a long way on the road to recovery! I want to thank my family and God for this! You can remove all the material stuff and I won't care, as long as my family is doing well! :)

Out of all the bad things that has happened in the year, I don't think its even worth mentioning considering how many good stuff has happened (take note: haven't written ALL of them). At times when I'm feeling down, it pays to look back to all the "good times" and from there, thank the Lord for all the blessings. It doesn't hurt to look at the half full glass than a half empty glass!

Of course, the year won't be great with the wonderful Mr. AMW beside me supporting me all the way with a cheerful heart! Trust me, I won't be THIS ---> :D cheerful without a cheerful partner!

AMW Reviews: Benefit Cha Cha Tint

I'm good with ballroom dancing! I can do the Swing, Foxtrot, Rumba and Cha Cha anytime you ask me too! (with a small fee by the way..bwahahaha) Why in the hell am I talking about these dances you've probably seen your parents or grandparents danced to?

Because you probably felt what's next! I got Benefit's Cha Cha Tint! *woohooo* Before I move on with the review, seriously! I can do Cha Cha! (I just won't give this! hahaha)

During the sneak peek, I was gifted by Benefit Philippines with my very own Benefit product of choice, it wasn't an easy decision but I went for Cha Cha tint because I have loved the Posietint and thought this would at least fair up!

Was I dismayed or am I happy with the decision of taking this home?

Benefit's Cha Cha Tint says ---

This mango-tinted stain beautifully blushes lips & cheeks with a tropical sunset hue. Smooch-proof & smudge-proof, this sheer stain will have you looking deliciously sun-kissed for hours.

Size: 12.5 mL 0.42 US fl. oz.

Pros

Others may hate the nail-polish like packaging but I like it because it is easier for me to control how much product I need without directly contaminating the product.

Shows up fairly well on both cheeks and lips.
The color stays until you wash your face!
Some may find this too pricey for a cheek product, I personally think this is a great investment especially if the color suits you. I do not need to re-apply my blush for the whole day! This bottle can last for months to probably a year!
Best to be used for brides! (depending on the bride's complexion.)
No weird scent.

Cons

Dries up easily so if you are slow with your application, you may be left with a circular mark.
If used on lips and you have dry lips to start with, it will dry out your lips even more!
Can stain your fingers or brush so you have to really clean your fingers or brush well after every use.

A bit tricky for newbies to balance the application on both sides of the cheeks.

Overall

My favorite cheek tint for the moment! The shade suits my skin so well I am using this almost on a daily basis! I even brought this with me during the NAPBAS 2011 and partied the whole night at ZOUK and came home with the lovely flush I liked since application!

On the side note, I was a sneaky enabler and applied the Benefit's Cha Cha tint on Angela telling her how much I love it, she at the end is lemming for this too! (peace Angela! hehehe)

Tips

Just like regular nail polish bottle, be careful with spillage as this product stains!
If you prefer to use your fingers or brush in application, you have to be fairly quick on either of the application.
When to apply the Benefit Cha Cha Tint? After liquid foundation application, apply this on cheeks before you set with powder! Keep in mind to always apply this first before any powder application!
Darker skinned individuals may find this to come off a bit light unless you apply more.
Fair skinned individuals will find the Benefit Cha Cha Tint to show up really well. Some would have coral-shade, others would find this to be on the mango-orangey shade.
If you're not used to using the applicator brush that comes with the packaging, apply a few drops on your fingers and gently (and quickly) blend on the apples of your cheeks.
If you think this whole thing is too much for you, you can purchase some "sets" that includes a sample size of the Cha Cha Tint!
For those who like to apply this on lips, use a separate lip brush and top it with a lip gloss or lip balm to prevent lips from drying.

Will I repurchase?
Yes! I will be repurchasing another bottle to be included on my makeup train case!

The reason why Benefit Cha Cha Tint goes to my "favorite" and "most reached" box is because for the fact that this is an "upper-lifter" product for my tired days. I do not even need to apply any other makeup as it gives a whole "cheerful" and "chirpy" image as shown on photo above!

I can't compare this to the Benefit Benetint as I do not own the latter at the same time, both shades are quite different anyways. As compared to Posietint, Posietint is best used on "no makeup" look while Cha Cha Tint is best used if you want people to see an obvious "flush"!

AMW Reviews: Innisfree Apple Juicy Cleansing Oil

A few days left before we bid goodbye to 2011! Are you excited?

Looking back at this photo brought me back to my fun Korea Travel year 2010! Would you believe, by this time, I'm 99% done using all the products that I hauled in Seoul! I guess it's time to go back to Korea to replenish my 'stocks'. *wishful thinking*

Long time reader would know how much I love cleansing oils! Cleansing oils are ~~not so~~ secret in taking care of my skin amidst the various product testings! I'm lucky my skin isn't that sensitive with cleansing oils as I was able to finish up different brands of cleansing oils from high end to friendly-priced ones! The last among the Korean-made cleansing oil is the one from Innisfree. I bought this because it came with a free "orange spongie"! *laughs* I'm a sucker for GWP (gifts with purchase) and you have to admit it if you are one too! :P (come on cheapo :P don't leave me alone here!)

Innisfree Apple Juicy Cleansing Oil says ---

Penetrates deep into pores. Cleanses skin thoroughly

Base on research (source), this has apple extract, grape class oil, sunflower class oil, marshmallow root extract. Organic and is kind to the skin.

Smells like real apples! I am not into apple scent but seriously, the scent is great and I was literally smiling while washing my face! *lol*
One of the most "natural" smelling cleansing oil I've tried to date! (check with me again after a year..lol)
Can remove makeup easily.
Doesn't blur out my vision when I tried this on the eye area to remove regular mascara.
Lathers up really well once applied with water.
Skin feels soft and non-greasy immediately after wash.
No skin irritations nor allergic reactions occur.

Cons

May not completely remove super hard to clean waterproof mascara.
Those who doesn't like the scent of an apple may find the scent irritating.

Overall
I like this cleansing oil! One of the best smelling cleansing oil and most natural I've tried to date! It does remove makeup and leaves my skin grease-free, soft and smooth!

I am not surprised this is included in Innisfree's Top 5 Global Bestsellers!

Tips

International readers who are into online shopping can purchase this at various online shops like Facial Shop (Please purchase at your own discretion, I have personally purchased from this online store and so far, I do not have problems with them.)
2-3 pumps for the whole face, gently massage it all over your dry skin concentrating on areas that has the most makeup.
With lukewarm water, lather up and continue massaging dissolving the makeup on your face.
Wash your whole face with warm water and continue with your preferred facial wash.
Once itchiness or skin irritations occur, stop usage!
I use this to remove regular, light makeup and use the heavy duty ones from Shu Uemura or Bobbi Brown to remove heavily applied makeup! I was able to save a lot of money at the same time, saves my skin!

Will I repurchase?
If I visit Korea, I wouldn't mind purchasing this again. Since this is not available locally, I can settle for Etude House Cleansing Dream Light Cleansing Oil or Nature Republic Forest Garden Balancing Cleansing Oil.

To whom do I recommend this to?
Cleansing oil users who love the scent of apples! This can be used by normal, combination, dry or oily skin.

Where to purchase and how much?

At Innisfree Store in Korea for 20,000KRW (approx Php800.00/$18.00). I won't be surprise if Innisfree will arrive our shores as within 2 years, Etude House, Tony Moly and Nature Republic came! For now, this can be purchased in Korea or your trusted online shops.

Eureka Moment: Wipes For Travel

When I was invited to attend the NAPBAS 2011 in Kuala Lumpur, to be honest, I wasn't that ready to travel on a month of December! The month of December was a roller coaster ride with Christmas get-togethers here and there! The night before I leave, I wasout enjoying dinner with College friends and got home around 1:00am! I had to get up at 3:00am for the 5:30am meet up at the Fort.

Insane right? So insane I forgot a couple of things!

I just threw in some makeup stuff for me to prettify myself during the Awards night, the thing I wasn't ready though, is co-Nuffies who would want yours truly to apply makeup on them! Don't get me wrong, I ain't complaining, I'm actually honored to do their faces and I was just a bit worried as I forgot my trustee makeup cleaner!

As I rummaged through my luggage, thank goodness I randomly insert the Purederm Make-up Cleansing Tissues at the side pocket of my luggage! The size is as small as the palm of my hand so it was really easy to bring them along minus the worry of spillage!

EUREKA MOMENT!

These saves me from dirty brushes! I also use these in pre-cleanse my face before the night ends and so far, I did not suffer any allergic reactions!

If I may have to add, the Deodorizing Wipes also helped me freshen up in between tourist spots! I used these also to wipe public toilet seats *lol* (if only I could wipe my underarm in public!) *shhhh* I didn't okay??? :P

Overall, it was a greatly packaged tissues as I was able to take these as well and put them in my small purse when we went out at ZOUK and cocktails at The View Rooftop Bar at G Tower Hotel.

Mini tissues priced at Php29.00 (approx $0.50) for 15 sheets, sold at Watsons, it's worth it!

Oh before I end this post, I also saw a nicely packaged Skinlight Make-up Cleansing Tissues at Watsons which I put inside my train case for clients! This packet costs around Php99.00 (approx $2.00). Not bad!

AMW Reviews: Lucido-L Designing Aqua Hair Curl Lotion

I have been searching high and low for a curl lotion that's none-sticky at the same time, helps my "waves" or "curls" stay as long as I can!

I have used a couple of products for the past years that I got interested on hair products (which was more than a decade by the way!). During my last trip in Singapore, I visited Watsons and find Lucido-L products! My dearest friend Connie sent me my first Lucido-L product as gift and I was able to use it up but I'm searching for one that doesn't require me to "touch" the product! I know, I'm a bit too lazy for comfort! Sue me! :P

As I was kneeling down at the racks of Lucido-L products, I chanced a "spray type" curl lotion (and angels started to sing), I grabbed one right away and was able to road test it back home! (home=Manila)

Lucido-L Designing Aqua Hair Curl Lotions says ---

The Lucido-L Designing Aqua Hair Curl Lotion is definitely a great heat protectant spray, it prolongs the curls even on a very humid day and it never weighs my hair down! This product is designed for "soft" feel curls, not the stiff, over-sprayed curls. The wonderful scent is a bonus!

Tips

Once product get into the eye, immediately wash your eyes with warm water.
Divide your hair and spritz product at least 5-10cm away one layer at a time before heating or styling your hair.
Gently massage product onto your hair before you start curling.
For bouncier and tighter curls, use a smaller curling iron.
For relaxed waves, use a bigger curling iron.
If you prefer to use this for really tight curls, use a styling mousse prior to curling and spritz this for finishing.
Do a weekly at-home hair treatment if you frequently style your hair with heating tools.

Will I repurchase?
I did! I purchased another 2 during my KL trip!

To whom do I recommend this to?
The Lucido-L Designing Aqua Hair Curl Lotion is best used if you have short to medium length hair! If your hair goes longer, the curls may not last as long as we want as the weight of the hair may pull the curls down making it hard for the product to work!

This product is best used on a daily basis especially if you are into heating tools.

Where to purchase and how much?
I purchased mind from Singapore and Malaysia for less than Php400.00 each.

I have to remind everyone that this particular product from Lucido-L is meant for "airy curls" - in our dictionary, it means loose curls.

I've used this for more than 2 months and I'm still loving this! It helps that it comes with a spray bottle which makes it easier to spray the product on all areas needed. I do apologize for showing a half face shot! You know that I don't want you guys to be so distracted by my gorgeous face and not look at my hair! *laughs* Hohoho! Leave that comment as a Christmas present from you to me okay? *laughs*
