Cetaphil Baby Products Review

I don't have a baby anymore but I still use baby products for ONE reason ---

My son may be 5 years old but his skin is still a baby!  He got my super sensitive, dry skin and using the wrong products will cause him to itch the whole day!

I have used a number of Baby Care products, I've tested a couple but one brand that was stuck in my head was Cetaphil Baby.  Why?  I'll tell you why when you scroll further down!

a photo of Cetaphil Baby products review

Kyle is a great reader, he reads ALL the product names and even product description whenever I introduce him to new bath care products.  Ever since I used Cetaphil Baby products on him, he has been requesting this brand out of all the brands available inside the bathroom for a couple of reasons --- he likes the scent and he likes how moisturizing it feels on him after every bath.

S&R Groceries Delivered Straight to Your Doorstep with Honestbee!

Do you shop a lot ONLINE like I do?
I shop for clothes, shoes, kids toys and even pay all my bills online!  That's how I manage the household without lifting my toes (just fingers!)

One thing that I still do manually is to shop for groceries.  I go to the Supermarket at least once a week with a long list of items to be purchased.  It was fun the first few times but traffic gets crazy and the weather goes along with the crazy traffic --- I can't seem to enjoy that task anymore.

Thankfully, Honestbee, Asia's leading online concierge and delivery service, helps you shop for groceries and basic household needs in the comfort of your own home.  I've actually shopped at Robinson's Supermarket together with an Honestbee guy!  I've realized, why not try out their service?

Warble Store Launch

What is The Art of Play?
I've seen what it is during the launch of Warble at Shangrila-Mall early this week.  I am happy to announce that my own style of playing with Kyle is similar to what they offer.

Lots of shapes, colors for the babies, toddlers and kids to touch and feel.

Action songs guided by teachers for them to have constant movement to encourage creativity, social skills and motor skills development.

I love how the Alphabet Phonics song were introduced with kids holding colorful sticks and going along with the letters of the Alphabet.

AskMeMom: Erceflora ProbiBears Review

When Kyle turned 3 years old, he was the mini version of FLASH the superhero and I'm not pulling your arm when I tell you --- this boy has the energy of a wrestler bottled in a kid's body!  He runs around so quickly I had a hard time chasing him and mine you, I am really good in running!  I used to join Track and Field!

Oo na, he obviously got his energy from me!  Kyle is not a picky eater, he can eat Ampalaya (Bittergourd) like a construction worker and he loves his milk!  Unfortunately, Kyle got his dad's weak tummy!  We tend to just stick to one brand of milk and you wouldn't believe when I tell you he had upset tummy immediately after I let him drink my favorite Iced Tea!

As advised by his Doctor, it is best to add Probiotic Supplement to help tummy problems and it can also help ease diarrhea and constipation!

Kyle takes his medicine like an adult too!  I don't do the "flying airplane" method as he readily opens his mouth as long as he knew what that is for!

But, since he already have his fair share of vitamins and supplements!  I wanted to add Probiotic Supplement in a fun way!  Thankfully, there's Erceflora ProbiBears!

Kyle started to develop his sweet-tooth when he started preschool!  He must've seen his classmates eat their reward lollipops and candies!  So thankfully, Erceflora ProbiBears falls into the category of somewhat like a "reward" milk candy (Yes, I've tried them too!)

Erceflora ProbiBears is a yummy tummy supplement with the combined 2-in-1 PROBIO-BOOSTER of not just Lactobacillus acidophilus, but also Bifidobacterium lactis – good bacteria that help prevent gut problems such as diarrhea, upset stomach, and other digestive illnesses to help keep kids happy and healthy every day. It’s the delicious and healthy way to strengthen your child’s tummy in yummy chewable bears!Lactobacillus is good bacteria that are present in a lot of food. A study has shown that Lactobacillus was an effective treatment against infant colic and even helped improve immunity. Bifidobacterium, on the other hand, helps ease digestive issues such as bloating and flatulence. It also has a longer shelf life.

Staycation Buddies

If you follow me on Social Media, you probably saw that I spent last weekend staying at Sofitel Philippine Plaza as to prepare for my sis-in-law's Engagement Party.

Engagement parties in Chinese culture is somewhat a big deal, it is similar to "Pamamanhikan" (Read about it HERE).

I don't have to stress enough how my 24 hours a day will never be enough for all the tasks I need to finish!  I just visited my parents the day before and arrived late at night so packing is really not my thing!  Thankfully, I was armed with these stuff to keep me sane!

Happy Mother's Day To All Of Us Supermoms!

I can never get enough of Motherhood.
I love how LIFE is teaching me mini-lessons every single day and I'm loving it!

AMW wears: Zalora Pants, Nomination Bracelet and Alberto Shoes

Don't think this is all flowery for me ha?  Whatever you see on #AMWIgStories and Instagram are just a snippets of my daily life, in reality, it seems like everything was in Fast Forward, I don't have much of a breather.

And I only have 1 kid!
I personally take daily photos with my son inside the car before he heads to school,
I call this my own #365daysofKyle project.

Not All Milk Are The Same!

That is what Anchor is trying to tell us during the Mommy and Milk event with the brand.

Anchor highly promotes the importance of whole milk in kid's nutrition, and as a mom who loves milk herself, I agree with them!

I agree with them so much I clear off my morning schedule to be with them!  And it was such a nice way to enjoy brunch with fellow mommies who share the same passion as I do!

We, as parents, obviously will always want to give the best to our children.  During the launch, we played some ice breakers and it was fun as we get to know each mom at the same time, learn something new!

Did you know that with all the milk products available in the market, it can be overwhelming and confusing to choose which one would work best for our children?

The best way is to READ THE LABEL.

True enough, I was shocked on how I can't seem the understand the ingredients of what's in my son's food and milk products.  He has always been an Anchor drinker but there are times I feel like I have to alternate with other milk brands just because..."baka magsawa siya".  It turned out that my choice (or yours) could probably harm your kids!

From a nutritional point of view, Anchor’s whole milk has a myriad of benefits that other milk products with additives and substitutes do not deliver. First, Anchor milk products are naturally rich in disease-fighting antioxidants there are produced from 100% grass-fed cows living in lush green farms. Second, having less fillers means that calcium is more bioavailable – that means calcium may be more easily absorbed vs. other milk products which contain less natural dairy. Lastly, whole milk provides high-quality protein which has all essential amino acids for faster
growth and development.

Space Adventure at The Mind Museum

When your son live and breathe space since 2 years old, you'll know the Space Adventure at the Mind Museum is a MUST place for him to visit!

Grateful that my dad's situation was better during the weekend of Space Adventure Grand Opening.  After rushing back from my dad's home, I went with my family to the Mind Museum and let me indulge you with Kyle's happiness!

Okay, he didn't look THAT happy in this photo as he was itching to rush to activity after activities and I kinda forced him to take a photo first for remembrance!  hahaha

a photo of Space Adventure at The Mind Museum review.

With a Saturn cap on my head, the mom is also ready to feel the excitement!

AskMeMom: Kyle's First Birthday Celebration in School

A lot of YOU asked me on both emails, DMs and even texts --- How Do You Manage Your Time?

Well, I don't know about you but it takes years of practice!  I started time management as early as gradeschool years!  With all the assignments I get (4 exams plus Chinese memorization for both Language and History), I learned to really count every minute and follow my own timetable!

All of you AMW friends knew how busy my life is especially if you follow me on Social Media, but for the latter part of March and the whole month of April, my schedule is even worst!  With my dad's  recent stairs accident and stroke, I had to add in daily visits to the hospital (now: HOME).

What made my life even more challenging is the fact that I have to continue to be there for my son who needs and seeks my attention much more than ever!

And since April 16 was his 5th birthday and a FIRST for him to celebrate in school (his previous school was on summer vacation during his birth month.), I knew I had to at least give him a decent celebration because even with troubles coming my way, life does not stop there!

A huge shoutout to my loving hubby for taking workday-off to help me out on this!  THANKS MR. AMW!

The food part was easy, we ordered fastfood on that day and even purchased his requested "Red Ribbon" cake.  Thankfully, they offer a Jollibee cake  which matches the food theme.

Now let's talk about the loot bag!  I obviously do not have time to go to "Divisoria" like other moms so I obviously went for the easier route -- ONLINE SHOPPING.

One of the Online Shopping App I always go for is Shopee - I learned about the effectiveness of Shopee through my sister-in-law because she also has a shop there!

Scholastic Warehouse Sale

My son loves BOOKS, it is probably safe for me to say right now that: "I have a book-lover!" and I can't be happier!  I was a book-lover too!  I used to borrow books from my classmates every summer and read books so fast it took me just 4-5 days for a Daniel Steele novel!

And because I am the type of mom who really supports what my kid loves (learned that from my own momma!), I always take him to bookstores, buy him loads of books (guys, I can't even count just how many books he has right now!)

Kyle's version of "Mommy's Reward" is actually a new book and I get "kilig" whenever I see how his eyes lit up whenever there are new books around!

Mas nag-cocomplain na ang yaya, I should stop buying books na daw as he has too much.  What is too much when kids learn from it right?  Back me up fellow mommies!  Si yaya talaga negatron! *hahaha*

Because I am assured that you mommies will support me, can I support you back by sharing to you one of my favorite SALE?

Weekend Food Trip at: Mazendo + The Dessert Museum

I have been to Taiwan and tried their food, so when I saw Mazendo Restaurant, hailed as Taiwan's Best Beef Noodle soup, I had to drag my family to dine there after The Dessert Museum family bonding.

If you are on a rush, yes, it is worth the visit!  And double yes, it is authentic!

Let's start with the appetizers that makes people come back for more!

Pan-Fried Pork Dumplings
Php145.00

Though the bottom side was up when it was served, I had this clueless look, why would they offer me a paper?

Thankfully, it wasn't a paper, the bottom side is made of "wrap" fried neatly so you can actually eat it together with the dumplings! Yummy as you get an extra crisp!  Extra will always be good!

AMW Visits Zojirushi Flagship Store

Let me tell you something about my childhood....don't worry it's not going to be a novel!
I'm the youngest in the family so whatever I use are hand-me-downs from my sister or brothers!  I am not really into material things but one thing I really asked from my parents is a cute lunchbox OR a cute stainless steel tumbler to keep my water cold all throughout the day?

I didn't have any of those and I cried bucket of tears during summer!  So imagine the happiness (and memories) I had upon entering the first Zojirushi Flagship Store at Promenade Greenhills?

Zojirushi is the leading Japanese home and kitchen lifestyle brand which has been a partner of many households all over the world.  Designed with a simple yet powerful slogan in mind: Inspirations from Everyday Life, this global Japanese brand known for quality products since 1918, has established itself as a top manufacturer of vacuum bottles and has continued to leverage the latest technologies to create a constant stream of leading-edge products that make life more comfortable and convenient.  Although much has changed and lifestyles have become more varied, this brand’s philosophy of  “creating a quality of life” continues to be reflected in its products and services.

Baby Dove is Here!

a photo of Baby Dove Rich Moisture and Sensitive Moisture Review

Baby Dove is here in the Philippines!  I wished they arrived earlier (around 4.5 years earlier), I remembered scouring the whole baby section of a supermarket and even go to Baby Fairs just to check out brands made specifically for babies --- there wasn't a lot of choices back then and I'm sure a lot of you who have bigger kids can relate to that!

I've used a LOT!  A whole lot!  There were a couple of misses where I've seen my then baby broke into rashes!  Baby oils that are said to be meant for sensitive skin actually burned his skin!

Did I felt bad?  YES!  Super bad!
But thankfully, I have a very supportive husband and understanding family who gave me a pat on the back and consoled me on how motherhood is really all about trial and errors!  There is no perfect handbook that would give all the right answers on how to be a perfect mom!
Because there's NONE.  And I am perfectly fine to do all the testing myself because I enjoyed the process (not all!)  but there are a couple of instances were I felt super proud of myself!

So seeing the arrival of Baby Dove actually brought me back to so much first-time motherhood memories!  With a lot of newbie moms messaging me after seeing my IG post on these products, I am so happy to be able to share a bit of my experience and knowledge as REAL as it gets! #RealMoms

And yes, one of the most sought after Baby products brand DOVE BABY is finally here!  No need to ask relatives or friends to purchase for you, they are here, in our local supermarket ---  Both Rich Moisture and Sensitive Moisture Variants.

AskMeMom: Is Your Drinking Water Safe?

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know that I didn't enjoy Christmas as much as I did in the past years.  Why?  Kyle got really sick!  He had loose bowel movement and have been going to the toilet 7 times a day (minimum!)

He was in pain and it was the worst feeling any parent would feel!

After seeing blood in his stool, I got panic and had his stool tested right away!  Turned out, he has bacteria and possible Amoebiasis (that's according to his Pedia) so he ended up taking 2 different brands of Antibiotics for his whole Christmas Break.  (Super kawawa)

Just like any other moms, I felt bad.  I am a type of mom who wanted him to be a kid!  Let him run around freely on dirt, drink and eat anything his heart desires (as long as it is within his diet).  It was that week we go out a lot for Christmas gatherings and I remembered him drinking juices and water from restaurants.

As much as I wanted to be that "cool" mom who lets him enjoy childhood (and dirt), I guess we are at this moment of time that nothing is safe anymore.  Bacteria are wilder an stronger than over as compared to my childhood years!  So I am back to being vigilant especially with the water he drinks.  It's better safe than sorry! #LessonLearned

Before Christmas Break was over, I make sure to spend more quality and fun times with my son to make up for the lost break!  We head on to a nearby park and played his favorite game --- BUBBLES!

I was rushing so I didn't get the chance to prepare for his water, thankfully, I got a couple of Aquafina Purified drinking water sent to me by my friends in the industry.  I grabbed 2 bottles and head on to Blue Bay.  It was extremely HOT, Humid and Sunny!

Kyle's Stride Rite Pick

It was after his successful Christmas Performance at the Greenhills Theater when we've decided to be crazy (in terms of traffic) and travel from San Juan to Makati!  It was a full day just to celebrate Kyle's first performance EVER at a huge theater!

We took him to his favorite Quantum and played his favorites games, he had a cup (or 2) of gelato, he strolled inside National Bookstore and picked his favorite book and the last stop?  We brought him to Stride Rite for his new pair of shoes!

As you all know, it's the Star Wars season so Mr. AMW laid his eyes on this Stride Rite x Star Wars Collection!  These 2 pairs are our top picks.

Gift That Matters with Ogalala

When it comes to gift-giving for kids this holiday season, I go for the easy-yet-meaningful route.  I message the moms and ask what their kids want and what they approve so the gift I will be gifting will Matter to both the recipient and the parents!

Thankfully, Ogalala Concept Store, my favorite kids' store because the toys they offer are perfect for developing young minds.  I have always been a fan of The Learning Journey, National Geographic and wide range of Crayola shades!  I have been a loyal Ogalala shopper even way before I was invited for the launch!

But the launch day was even better, because I ended up shopping for Kyle's classmates and my inaanaks because a lot of their items were on SALE!  (Ahh, I just love that huge RED sign with that 4 -letter word!)

Kyle's Holiday Health Buddy!

As a busy mom, I almost NEVER have a down time, I'm always rushing from one meetings to another sneaking some events in between as I also include driving my son to and from school as I do my errands in between!

Jersey Jumpsuit/Romper by Uniqlo

Crazy right?  Well, yes, and if you ask me how I find time and energy for that!  I always joke about taking several cups of coffee as my "vitamin" to keep me going!  But truthfully, I depend highly on my round of vitamins to prevent me from catching infectious diseases --- which of course, will put my family's health at risk too!

When my son started school, I noticed he gets sick more often as he gets more exposed to kids and people in general.  And you know how preschoolers are!  Sharing toys, huddling close together inside an air-conditioned room.

AskMeMom: Tips on Caring for a Sick Child

A week before I leave for Korea, and just a week left before Kyle's semestral break, Kyle got sick and worst, he is the type of kid who never complains about "Ouchy".  He can be as active as his normal self yet temperature could rise up around 39 to 40 degrees Celsius!

It started with him getting warm and temperature went up to 38 degrees.  Most of the time, I just give him paracetamol as recommended by his Pediatrician with the correct dosage depending on his weight and age.  With several sponge baths and ice on head, most of the time, it works and he gets better in a max of a day or two.

Dengue Awareness for YOU and Your Family

When Kyle started his new school at Early Achievers this year, parents like me received a communication folder with requirements from school.
  • Water Bottle
  • Snacks
  • Extra T-Shirt and Pants
  • Towels
  • Insect Repellent
I took serious notes on everything ESPECIALLY insect repellent, because I understand the Philippines (a tropical country) is no stranger to Dengue outbreaks.  I watch them on news and read them on social media posts every single day and I know my son (and children in general) are more liable to get it because they are the ones who are more exposed than any of us in the Family.

AskMeMom: Tips on How I Encourage Kyle's Creativity to Develop Intellectual Skills

I am telling you right now that I'm not a perfect mom and I will not strive to be one.  One thing for sure, I am a type of mom who knows her kid like a back of her hand even if I have multiple jobs.  Yes, getting to know your kids doesn't need 24 hours to happen, you only need to spend time (not just time, but QUALITY time), get to know them well on what tickles them, what makes them sad or happy!

Whenever I post on IG stories activities I do with my son Kyle Nash, a lot of the followers would comment on how lucky I am that Kyle is smart and creative.  One thing that I want to clarify is that, creativity is not inborn.  As much as there are "inborn talents", creativity can be nurtured and it is actually a skill that we can help our child develop - that's according to a child therapist.

I for one, is not an intelligent person, but because my mom gave me all the chances to be creative during my younger years (blackboard, chalk and loads of paper!), I can say I'm more of a flexible person who can deal with challenges on various situations and I actually use how my mom raises us to be a "Peg" on what type of mom I will be.

With our fast-paced life with the help of technology, how do I encourage Kyle to be creative in his own way?  Here are just FEW of the things I do that seem to work!
