Weekend Style for Busy Moms

 

Hello AMW Friends.

How are you?  I guess the Alert Level of COVID-19 is going down so I hope you guys are taking this chance to visit your loved ones but make sure to protect yourself to be able to protect your loved ones as well.

I usually use my weekend to visit my parents, I haven’t visited them since the start of 2022 due to the sudden surge of OMICRON cases.  See how excited I was to visit them?

Visiting parentals and dropping by restaurant and buying them some groceries is my chance to dress up comfortably.  I also used a long-sleeved top as a cover-up so I can easily remove it before heading straight home after all my errands.

I also used this cute bag from Beyond The Vines 

The cute Micro Dumpling Bag comes in various colors and it is foldable!  Yes you can fold it so small (like a palm of your hand) for storage.  Also, I love it that it comes with a long strap so I can move around hands free!  

Red and Black OOTD

 

Red and black has always been my no-brainer outfit combo!  Some would go for Black and White, it’s always Red and Black for me!  No wonder I have a lot of different shades of red outfit in my dresser and of course, various black outfit too I can easily mix and match!

I recently hosted Lazada 10.10 Big Brand Sale Livestream for 2 days and I was required to wear a deep red outfit and I came up with this.  Comfortable yet classy!  What do you think?

The top is an old top I bought from Zalora years ago when I just gave birth to Kyle, I needed a top that is loose enough for me to breastfeed!  I actually cinched the top at the back fo this livestream so make it more “fit”.

The shorts is an inexpensive shorts on Sales which I purchased at SM Department store.  I like the extra buckle and ribbon that made this shorts unique from the hundreds of other black shorts I have! :P

For my hair and makeup, I loosely curled my hair using a 1.5 inch curling iron and applied heavier makeup - yes, that make up is quite heavy, I just have strong lighting during the livestream so my face was heavily contoured for dimension!

Bluer Than Blue OOTD

 

Happy Fri-yay!

Seems like the weekend is what I am always looking forward to because I can sleep a few hours longer!  Kyle’s online school starts too early I can’t believe I am waking up at 6:00am again like I used to when I was in school!  (Ahem, not true, I wake up at 5:00am before!)  

But showing you my comfortable OOTD perfect for days you need to look good yet comfortable enough to do your tasks on the floor!  Yeah, I love sitting on the floor while Kyle is having classes.  I have issues with certain chairs and sitting on the floor helps my spine in some way or another!  

The dress is actually an old blue spaghetti-strap number which I got from Zalora a few years back and I recently purchased a Long Sleeved Cardigan Cropped Top (Shop Link HERE) in different shades becuase I honestly feel more comfortable covering my arms when I go out!  

I also paired this blue number with a new Precious Stones I got from good friend Mrs. M from Shopaholicmissus.  This is a Sunstone Faceted 12mm bracelet that brings good fortune and luck!

Ahhhh been wearing nice cothes lately with meetings and workshops and online events!  Here’s another take of a casual OOTD with my “Korean Shorts” as how I call it - don’t mark my words, I just like to call it Korean Shorts because I have been seeing a lot of my favorite Korean Influencers wearing such shorts!  Not too sort and not too long!  Just right for moms-on-the-go or girls on-the-go in general!  

Perfect outfit for us who need to look good for sudden meetings online and you don’t have to worry about attendees seeing your “home shorts” or pajamas when you stand up!  I like wearing these types of shorts all throughout the day!

Rory and Sloan Croft 2.0 in Goji

 

I have always been a fan of bags that are compact yet spacious! 

How in the world can I find such?

The search is OVER!  The Rory and Sloan Croft 2.0 (Php2,990.00) is the answer!

If you are a reader of AskMeWhats for quite sometime, you have probably seen me post about my Vaccination OOTD and the pop of purple/lilac probably caught your attention!  So today, I am highlighting the bag!

Aside from the space because of the rectagular shape, I like the extra pocket at the back of the bag and a flap space in front for essentials like alcohol and face masks!  

Inside, I can fit my mobile phone, my long wallet, my wipes, my makeup kit and a whole lot of keys and a huge Barangay CARD!  

Though the color seem to be difficult to match, it actually work with any color of outfit, you just have to tote it with confidence my friends!

The adjustable thick strap is also a winner in my dictionary, I can hold on it like a hand bag  or use it as a sling bag!  I can event adjust to strap to the size of my waist for a cute waist bag!

The styles are endless!  And this is definitely my IT bag as of the moment!

Comfy OOTD for Weekends

 

My style went from on trend to major comfort ever since the pandemic.  Whenever I visit my parents, I always dress as comfortably so I can move around freely considering it is uncomfortable enough to wear mask and face shield - yes I do so even at my parents’ place.

This is my favorite top from Uniqlo because I like to protect my arms as much as possible whenever I am out.  And my shorts which is garterized - a recent purchase via Shopee! (Link HERE if you want to shop for the same shorts and they have more colors pa!)

And I love KF94 masks, I do double masking just to be sure with a medical mask underneath but I find it super comfortable to talk and chat with my parents!

Vaccination OOTD

 

At this point of writing, I am happy to announce that —- I AM FULLY VACCINATED!

I am so elated to finally get vaccinated!  I was waiting for this moment for too long!

When I posted my happiest moment photo on my Instagram account, I got positive response on my OOTD (Outfit of the day).  Truth be told, I did not really prepare an outfit for vaccination - LOL, I only made sure to wear clothing that will make me feel comfortable at the same time, fuzz-free for injection and safe enough to have myself at least covered.  (That explains the mask and shield even on photos!)

I know, OOTDs should not be a thing when it comes to pandemic but it feels good to at least look good even if you only get to go out once a month or so!  

Firstly, I usually wear sleeveless top for injection but I chose a short-sleeved white tee with sleeves still easy to pull up.  I honestly wanted to wear an extra cover-up but it was too hot that day!  

As for the pants, I opt for a soft, cotton jogger pants!  This is a drawstring-type and easy for me to move around without having to expose any part of my legs!  I mean, call me paranoid but I try not to have any skin to object contactt when I’m outside!  

Ootd: K-Fashion

 

If you love KPOP and Korean fashion, you have probably seen this style of clothing!  

Short skirts - I changed it to skort because I want to move around freely.

A light sweater top and I had to go for the one with heart on it!  

Since my hair is long and not as layered as before, I can finally do pigtails without having flyaway hairs!  Okay, don’t bash me, this is an oldie trying to look like a teenager…why can’t we right?

As I stated on my IG Post, no rules in fashion, hairstyle and makeup!  Just choose to feel good and be YOU.

Secosana’s 25th Anniversary Collection - What I Got!

 

I just love neutral-colored bags!

Secosana has been around for 25 years!  I am NOT surprised I always see the in major department stores when my husband and I were in College — dating!  :P  Yeah we go way back!

So when I was sent a special bag under their 25th Year Anniversary Collection, it brought back so much good ‘ol memories.  These bags are proudly PHILIPPINE-made and I am so happy how they were conscious enough to add some extras in time for the pandemic….

Can you see that cute pouch hanging?  It is an alcohol dispenser!  You can easily refill it!  I also love that it’s hanging outside so I don’t need to open my bag each time I needed to use an alcohol!

This bag is more of a handbag size around less than 20 inches in length and height.  It comees with a gold hardware but feel free not to use it, that bag includes a long faux leather straps wherein you can use it as a bodybag or sling bag, perfect for moms who needed to free 2 hands!

But this can easily transform from a casual bag to a cocktail bag or formal events bag!  Do you agree?

Turkish Finds Lambskin Leather Bag (Burnt Sienna)

 

Hello everyone!  Ahh, I have found a super nice leather bag for 2021!  I haven’t shopped any clothing, footwear, bags since the start of 2021.  I mean look!  Where do I usually go?  I can count using my fingers the times I go out and it’s all visit to my parent’s Home.  Ahhh how much I missed them!

But before you go…why would you dress up going to your parents home?  Well, I always do!  Not in a fashionable way —- in my own personal style + FACE MASK!

I love the mom jeans I bought online and the knitted sleeveless top!  I honestly wear them at HOME!  So yes, it was like me wearing home clothes outside!  Why do I dress up even at home?  

Online work!  I have a couple of Zoom meetings or calls every now and then and I want to make sure that I look “ready” and “professional” when the caller would suddenly request for Video Calls.  They usually do not require video calls but out of respect, I guess that is a TEACHER IN ME, I wanted the person to see my facial expressions, my face, just to let them know how important they are to me for me to at least look half decent and meet them eye to eye! :D

 

That’s just my 2 cents.  

My parents and brother had COVID scare so I stopped going there for 2 months.   After testing negative in the Swab test, I finally gave myself a go to visit them once again and look at my excited face behind the mask!

Inside my Turkish Finds Lambskin Leather bag are the following —- Face Shield, Alcohol, Wallet, Shades, Keys and some snacks!

Whenever I am out, I tend not to eat and drink so I make sure I have enough snacks inside my bag whenever I go back to my car and eat while I drive —- well not literally WHITE DRIVING but in between traffic and long stops! (P.S. You only do that when you are very much aware of your driving, if you can’t multi-task, please do not FOLLOW ME!  I have ulcer/GERD so I need to eat every now and then!)

The bag comes in SEVERAL Colors, and I finally decided to go for the shade Burnt Sienna for it’s unique color and texture.  It has a “torched leather” kind of feel to it so this won my heart.

BUTTER OOTD

 

BTS’ Comeback with an all English song is happening this week!  May 21st to be exact!  Some may say: “I don’t care!”  It’s okay, we all have our favorite songs and artists and I am really loving BTS not only for their music but their story.

I may be an Ahjumma to them but my heart is a Noona.  I may not collect BTS merchandise as other ARMY but I am willing to collect useful things like SHIRTS! :)  

Thanks to my good friend Ashley for putting a smile on my face amidst the challenging weeks.  Because I love the shirt so much, I actually ordered and reordered from her to make my Army friends happy too!  You may shop HERE.

As for any T-shirt, you can pair it with pants, shorts, skirt or wear it as is (as I got Large and it is big!) with cycling shorts underneath.

I also shared how I spend most of my mornings!  It always starts with wearing clothes that makes e comfortable and happy, put on a bit of lipstick or tinted lipbalm and prepare our family’s breakfast with a good cup of coffee.

Summer-Ready OOTD

 

My fashion style is quite straightforward.  

Simple, minimalistic, relatable.

I also like to wear pieces that can be worn and reworn several times because —— practical!  And since the weather is getting hotter every single day, I pulled out my colorful top that screams SUMMER!  My son loved this top so much because he loves colors!  This was just a Php150.00 top which I tied a knot and fixed the sleeves making it look more expensive than its’ original price.

The shorts has been around for so many years !  These 2 together, I felt most at-home.  

But reality is..... pigtails and cold drink will always be part of my “OOTD”.
