Dear Philippine Readers:
It's the start of the week and no matter how busy I am, I still thought about you girls because there's an exciting contest cooked up by yours truly and our favorite Dollface Cosmetics.  Pearl has been very supportive of my blog anniversary, my 1,000th followers and specifically, she's very supportive of me!  Thank you Pearl for loving AMW and AMW readers!

A new palette has arrived and I took a sneak peek (via photos because Pearl is in Cebu) and I was super excited because it looks very dainty, a lot of pink shades!  That's why it's called "The 88 Dollface Palette"!  To create a "doll face" in you!

And would you believe one lucky local reader will get the chance to win this new palette worth Php1,200?

Tempting right?  You should be!!!  I am actually tempted to own one myself!  Or probably whoever wins this, let me borrow this ok?  (just joking!)

Weekend Food Tripping at: Ying Ying Tea House for the Gazillionth Time

I have been very busy over the weekend!  I apologize because of my busy schedule, I wasn't able to food trip the "right way".  Either I eat on events or I eat "sandwich" on-to-go because I've been chasing time!  To keep it up and make all you hungry hippos (cute hippos) happy!  I'll show you photos of my all time favorite "feel good" food!  It's quite far to most people in the Metro but if you're within the Chinatown area, this restaurant, you have to visit!  It's small, it's crowded and they serve wonderful authentic Chinese food!

Again and again, my favorite Chinese Food Trip
Ying Ying Tea House

Yang Chow Fried Rice
This order is large for the whole family

Spinach Soup
My favorite healthy soup.  You can also go for their 8 Treasures Soup
both tastes wonderful!!!

Steamed Fish Fillet with Sauce (not on photo)
Very fresh and healthy!  Great for anyone who's on a diet

Fish Fillet in White Sauce
You can actually order this in White Sauce (below) or sweet and sour sauce.  Both tastes great and both are worth giving it a try!  I love the large piece of fish fillet which leaves you longing for more!

Fried Chicken (Whole) with Crispy Chips
You can never go wrong with fried chicken.  Come without gravy but ketchup!
I wish they have their own version of gravy though

Beef with Broccoli
My ultimate favorite!  Though I'm not a meat lover, I love the wonderful combination of greens and reddish browns.  I love the freshness of the broccoli!

Birthday Noodles
What I love about birthday noodles is their ultimate "Calorie high" quail eggs!  I'm not an egg person but when it comes to these tiny cuties, I can't so no!  They're usually colored in pinks or orange!

And would you believe there is such thing as "mountain-high" Noodles called "Cha Misua?"  Great combination of soft noodles and crunchy peanut with scrambled egg shreds on top!  You can order this without rice!

Just so you know, I weigh myself over the weekend and it's the same!  *laughs* I had this wonderful gastronomical meal with a whole bunch of family members! My family knows how to eat!!!

How's your weekend food tripping?

AMW Reviews/Eureka Momen: Nippon Esthetic Solutions Facial Cotton Cloth

If you've seen me in "make-up" action.  You know that I'm best friends with tissue paper as I love to clean my brushes between applications.  My heart gets wrenched every time I finish a whole pack of travel tissue half of it for brush cleaning!  I've brought towel along but its not enough to wipe brushes especially when I'm in a hurry.

On my most recently Dollface Personal Makeup Workshop, I met the owner of Studio SNR Ms. Sydney Go and she showed to me a product I've been looking for, I was told huge makeup brands like Shu Uemura uses this locally on counters to wipe the clients' face and clean their brushes!

Eureka Moment?

Nippon Esthetic Solutions Facial Cotton Cloth says ---
This lint-free 8”x 8” cotton cloth is created for the face—to wipe of water, to use during a makeover or trial makeup, or simply to wipe any of your tools when disinfecting with cleaners.

Packs of 100 sheets

AMW says ---
Pros
  • super durable, you can never tear it apart with bare hands

  • one sheet is enough for the whole face
  • one sheet is enough to clean approximately 10 eye brushes, 3 face brushes

  • each sheet can be used multiple times especially on brush cleaning
  • each sheet can also be used multiple times on facial cleansing
  • using this for toner works really well as this cloth works as a "semi-scrub", as the cloth is not as soft as cotton but not harsh on skin
  • seriously inexpensive as the sheet is quite huge!
Cons
  • towel is still the best as these are additional pollution to the environment
  • a bit difficult to purchase as you have to go to their studio for retail orders
Overall
I still use my towel to wipe makeup at home to save the environment and I do own a couple of cloth wipes!  I love using this to clean my brushes!  This is the perfect "tool" for the brushes I love to clean!  It never tears up and I can re-use them without having cotton particles transferred on bristles!

Tips
  • if used to wipe the face, I prefer cutting these in 2 to save up!  100pcs can turn to 200pcs!  Savings and saves the environment

  • if you prefer cutting these facial cotton cloth, make sure your scissors are sanitized.
  • use the same cloth to wipe elbow and knees if you do so at nigh
  • for brush cleansing, I try to use 1 pc for multiple brushes
  • for the face: I prefer using this to clean off foundation or use for toners.  I steer away from using this on eye area as its quite harsh for the sensitive eye area.
  • if you don't have a case to store these cloth, try not to expose the cloth

  • order with friends so save the trip to the store

Will I repurchase?
Yes!  Definitely!  It's a Eureka Moment for me!

Where to purchase and how much?
At Nippon Esthetic Solutions Promo Retail Price of Php200.00 ($4.35) for a pack of 100pcs.  Can be purchased at Studio SNR Unit 301 Millenium Place Meralco Avenue Ortigas Center.

Here's a photo to show how you can fold
your facial cotton cloth to maximize usage

You can easily cut them

Cotton Cloth can be easily folded

Eureka Moment!
Wonderful finds like this makes my heart flutter!  Happiness!
Do you think you need these?

AMW Reports: Sunsilk Meet the Hair Experts

I got an invite to meet the Hair Experts for the new Sunsilk's Co-Creations.  I've used Damage Repair when I was on my Vaseline Road Trip and I was quite impressed by it!  I was surprised to learn there are a total of 7 Best Ever Co-creations for targeted hair issues.

The event was hosted by the gorgeous Sarah Meier.  Super tall I have to say!

Was able to take a photo with a hairstylist, salon owner, and entreprenuer Ms. Yoko Yamashita.  She's behind Yuko Hair Straightening that's why she's called the Smooth Hair Expert!  She doesn't speak much English but definitely exudes a cheerful and friendly attitude!

Towers us all is the Shapes and Length Expert Mr. Teddy Charles.  A French guy who have worked with A-list celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker, Blake Lively and Hayden Panettiere.

And the room hushed when the Brand Ambassador of Sunsilk's Co-creations Ms. Sarah Geronimo arrived in a simple yet  form fitting purple dress.  With a gorgeous smile, she can definitely launch a thousand ships with loads and loads of shampoos!  *laughs*.  I love the way she  talks and I seriously hope she sings!!!!

Take a look at  how shiny, straight and gorgeous her hair looks!

I'll definitely report more!  Just giving you guys a peek on what happened!  More photos and stories to tell!  I'll go to La-La-Land now!

Night everyone!

AMW Reviews: Charm Luxe Flat Top Brush

For a flat top brush, nothing comes close to my heart  except my Everyday Minerals (EDM) Flat Top Brush.  I did not even try to look for a duplicate as I know nothing can match its quality and price!  However, I think I've spoken too soon!  Local readers will like the fact that a similar quality EDM Flat Top Brush can be purchased locally and in my opinion, it looks even better!

AMW says ---

Pros
  • very soft, non-scratchy feel

  • no shedding nor bleeding even on first wash - I was a bit harsh on it on my first wash
  • maintains its original shape once dried
  • very lightweight
  • bristles attached to the ferrule pretty well

  • perfect density

  • can be used for pressed and loose powder
  • since the brushes are made of synthetic hair, can be used on liquid foundation too
  • method in application: Buff and Stipple, both works!
  • inexpensive for good quality brush
  • perfect length and size
  • the longer ferrule (silver part) makes it unique
  • PINK!

Cons
  • takes a bit longer time to dry as compared to other brushes (because of its density)
  • non-pink lovers - this is in PINK!
Overall
I have nothing bad to say about this brush as it performs really well.  I've tried this brush and its a breeze in application.  The size is perfect, not too long nor too short!  I prefer using this with my loose mineral foundation!  Love! Love! Love!

Tips
  • always wash after purchase
  • since this brush is a bit dense, remove makeup reside with Olive Oil first then deep cleanse with baby shampoo + dish washing liquid (with conditioner)
  • always make sure brush is dry before usage
  • never blowdry the bristles, let it dry naturally
Will I repurchase?
I won't need to as this looks durable, but I strongly recommend this to friends!

Where to purchase and how much?
At Beauty & Minerals website for Php600.00 (approx $13.00) + Shipping
