Tip for the Day: "Awake" Look

Don't you hate it when in the middle of the day, your eyes look tired?

Ever use eyeliner on the waterline and found it transferred on your under eye area thus giving a "Panda" look?

Do you keep on retouching your powder or powder foundation for the whole day thus giving you a "mask" look?

**all 3 photos above taken from respective websites found on google

I've said "yes" to all 3 questions above but that's a thing in the past!  I've found a quick and easy solution to help solve the problems above!  Want to know how?

Send $100 directly to my bank.  No payment ... no answers!

JUST JOKING!  *laughs*

I am quite easy to please, just show me that gorgeous smile of yours and we're all set! =D

All you need ---
1. Your preferred powder foundation (pressed or loose)

2. Windshield Wiper Brush (any dupe similar to MAC's 224)

Instead of using a sponge or huge brush to retouch in the middle of the day, I suggest you use the wiper brush to gently swipe on areas needed for retouch.

1. Under the eye area

2. Sides of the nose

3. If your eyelids get a bit oily, you can retouch using this method.

Voila!  Instead retouch minus the heavy feel.  Of course!  An added "huge smile" will bring in that healthy "glow" your face needs!

Hope my simple Tip for the Day works and helps most of you readers out there who asks me on the right way to do a "fresh faced" look that lasts the whole day!

If you want to create a "brightened" look all over your face!  You can check out August issue of OK! Magazine and there's a wonderful 2 page article on "Brighten Up!"

I have to share the look of the cover!  This month's OK! gives you an inside look on what is it like to grow up famous.  Natalie portman, Brooke Shiels, Jodie Foster and Neil Patrick Harris have grown up in a healthy sense of sel and of reality, despite living in the surreal world of Hollywood.  Now the question is: how will this generation of celebrity kids like Suri Cruise and Shiloh Jolie-Pitt turn out to be? We'll see...

For now, let's not think about how our lives will be if we're famous in Hollywood.  Let's just take one step at a time to enjoy life to the fullest, in an ordinary yet EXTRA-ordinary way!

Something New: EcoBeau Skincare + Contest (Contest Closed)

I received an email months ago from The Orange Co.  The online shopping site recently launched Ecobeau - Natural Skincare Series from Korea.  Ecobeau is pretty new in the market and it was founded by Professor Choi from Kwangwoon University and co-developed with University of Toledo (Ohio).  Simply Natural and Restorative for the skin.  Ecobeau is said to be absolutely free from synthetic preservatives such as parabens and phenoxyethanol.

I was in constant communication with Orange Co. because I have to tell them about my current skin condition.  I was also advised that I am free to use whichever product I want and I can freely talk about the experience I have with the said product.  I am impressed!

A couple of weeks later, I finally got....

10pcs Ecobeau Travel Set

  • EcoBeau Loess Foam Cleanser 30ml
  • EcoBeau Control Skin 10ml
  • EcoBeau Control Lotion 10ml
  • EcoBeau Nutritive Loess Mask 10ml
  • EcoBeau Control Essence 5ml
  • EcoBeau Nutritive Cream 5ml
  • EcoBeau BB Cream 5ml
  • EcoBeau BB Cream Plus (New Formula) 5ml
  • EcoBeau Eye cream 5ml
  • EcoBeau Whitening Serum 5ml
  • Aloe Hydrating & Firming Ampoule  10ml

I have heard about the number of Skincare products Koreans use and I am not surprised they can exceed more than 10.  My simple skin though would like only the basics, so for the first few weeks, I've been using the following:

1. EcoBeau Loess Foam Cleanser (sample)
A great pump bottle which produces foamy texture and very gentle on skin.  I've used this for 2 weeks and it lives up to hypo-allergenic claims.

2. EcoBeau Natural BB Cream (sample)

3. EcoBeau Natural BB Cream Plus (sample) New!  Just launched July 2010

Both BB Creams above have the same shade and it absorbs to my skin with no problems at all.  The BB Cream does not contain any silicon which is great as it lets my skin breathe.  I'm almost done with these 2 product samples and I love how natural my skin look.  It has a nice tint and glow and I can get away without powder foundation.  I can just gently dust a translucent powder and voila!  The 2 BB creams are said to work in hot and humid countries like the Philippines.

Good news!

The nice people from Orange Co have shared 3 mini sample packs for my readers :)  I will also be including some of the samples I received in which I know I won't be able to use as I try to steer away from using too much products on my face!

Here's to show the size of the 3 minis
They are quite small but each can last for 2 weeks or more depending on usage

How to join?
  1. Anyone around the world can join!
  2. Head on to The Orange Co website  and answer this:
  3. "What are the 3 strong beliefs EcoBeau stand for?" (Clue: answers starts with NO)
  4. Type in answer on comment section together with your name and email address.
  5. No Duplicate entries please
  6. 3 Winners will be randomly picked on August 15, 2010!

Weekend Food Tripping at: Bistro Miyake RestoBar

My weekend food tripping post should be named "Last Weekend Food Tripping".  If you remember clearly, I had my OrganicRituals Spa Manicure and Pedicure experience last week and I finished the service around 9:00pm already and we haven't had dinner yet!  I can literally see people walking around looking like a "fried chicken" (finger lickin' good?) *hahaha*  We've decided not to drive but walk by Bistro Miyake which is approximately 5 minutes walk away from the Nail Spa location.

The huge "Happy Hour Promo" banner nearly put a stop on our tracks as I don't want to go in a bar that has a lot of drunken master and probably filling the place with smoke.  Not my thing!  But I'm glad the restaurant outside has ample lighting and I can see how gorgeous and modern the restobar looks!

Wonderful ambiance, modern designed interiors that does not look like a typical Japanese Restaurant at all.  Except when you look closely at the "Japanese" decorations and plants!  The Sushi Bar is a big "giveaway" on what type of restaurant this is!

See the gorgeous lamp?  I have a crush on it and I am tempted to take it back home!  *laughs*.  Seriously, this place looks posh!  Expensive-looking!!!!

Well I am glad the saying "Do not judge the book by its cover" is applicable in this restaurant.  The prices on menu isn't expensive at all!  I find that it's regularly priced like most inexpensive Japanese restaurants we know.

Here's a quick snap on their menu, you can click photo to enlarge to get the feel of their price range.

Aside from coffee, I am a tea drinker.  I make sure to try their house tea and it doesn't take anything different like most house tea.  It's actually regular green tea.  Tastes a bit bland.

The house salad free for all I guess.  Nothing spectacular again.  Shredded vegetables with mayonnaise.

We tried their Surf and Turf Meal
Tonkatsu in Combination C
Includes: Miso Soup, House Salad,

Salmon Steak and Pork Tonkatsu
all for Php275.00 (approx $6.00)

Their Salon Steak is quite nice, the Pork Tonkatsu tastes good but a bit too dry for my taste as the sauce that goes with this is more on the thick texture (imagine oyster sauce texture).  My favorite is their Miso Soup.  I can go for 2nd serving!  Only if I can!

Celebration Noodles
Php185.00 (approx $4.00)
This dish is definitely new to my tastebuds.  Imagine a noodle dish that's sweet.  It's a bit sticky because it was cooked together with pork fat.  Comes with Chorizo, Eggs, Pork and mushrooms.  Not bad but good for sharing as I cannot finish this all.

Dessert time!
Blueberry Cheesecake
Php120.00/slice (approx $3.00)

Can I just say OMG???  This finished up the whole meal perfectly!  I love the texture of this and it doesn't feel overwhelming to my tastebud at all.  The blueberries well complemented the cheesecake! I am seriously longing and thinking about this up to this very moment!!!  Note to self:  Will order this in whole (Php1,200/Approx $27.00) when I visit the area fo' sure!  I don't care if I stuff my fat face with this!

Bistro Miyake, Greenhills
Unit 101 Intrawest Building
33 Annapolis St. Greenhills
San Juan, Metro Manila
Tel. no: 632-721-1225

Restaurant does have limited parking space in front, accepts cash and credit card payment and bill includes Service Charge (SC) of 10%.  I can't tell about the customer service as we dined here super late so there's only 2-3 tables filled up!

How's your weekend food tripping?  What did you have?

Salon Report: Matrix Sensoria at Antonio Hairdressing Libis

Weekends, best time for pampering!  REST aside from Time is Gold.  That is why I booked myself a hair treatment once I learned I have one Saturday free!  Going to a salon is for a treatment is definitely a "luxury" for me as I'm used to doing my own treatment at home!

I gave Antonio Hairdressing Libis a call to book for my hair treatment as I got a voucher from Matrix Sensoria treatment early this year.

The salon that greeted me looks so inviting and eye-catching!  I used to pass by this salon a couple of times when I was working at Eastwood back then!  I like the fact that there are parking spaces right in front of the salon.

The reception area and I was greeted by a very friend staff!

Eureka Moment: Freezines

I've been a magazine "collector" as long as I can remember.  I would borrow pocketbooks but never borrow on magazines.  I want my own copy, I scan it again and again and I used to have a cabinet full of magazines!  Can I add it's been piled according to months?  hahaha

Since I started to blog, I took a break on magazine reading, but that does not mean that I don't like them.  The scent of the magazine pages and the colorful pages makes my tiny heart flutter!

I know a lot of girls out there would love to have their own copy of their preferred magazine but it's quite difficult to spend Php100 (approx $2.50) and above especially if you are a student and rely on allowances!  Can you give me a pat on my back when I've found a couple of FREEZINES (Free Magazines) that's worth reading?  You don't believe me?  HA! Let me show you!
