Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair (ANR) Review

Hi Everyone!  Happy Valentine's Day!  What are you up to?  I'm not going anywhere as I'm so scared of traffic!  *laughs* but we'll probably celebrate the Heart's Day at the comfort of our home! :D  Probably movie night and we have our popcorn all ready to microwave!  *laughs*

Why am I even sharing this to the world???  *embarrassed*

Almost a month ago, I hosted a giveaway for AMW Readers on one of the most talked skin care product on both cyber and real world!  The Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair (ANR).  Thanks to more than 60 entries and I enjoyed reading each of the entry and will pick up ONE lucky winner of ANR worth Php4,800 soon!!!

BUT, hold your horses!  Before that, let me share to you our experiences as I asked the help of my gorgeous MIL (Mon-in-law) in trying this out!

January 11, 2012
I received 2 sets of Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair via courier.  One for me to review and the other one for blog giveaway! *yay*

Today marks the first night me and my MIL will incorporate this to our regular skin care regimen.

This photo was taken the exact night I first use Estee Lauder's ANR.  Note on my skin condition, I DO suffer random breakouts on chin, forehead or above the lip area prior to monthly period (but luckily none on the night photo was taken) but if you look closely, my skin suffers from redness due to allergic reactions of some sort especially on the cheek area.  On the sides of the nose and the nose area, I suffer extreme dryness.

AMW says ---
  • Scent is light and relaxing.
  • ANR felt like mineral oil but once applied on face, it feels very light.
  • Gets absorbed into the skin easily.
  • Instant moisture and "brightness" was seen ONLY if you look very closely.
AMW's MIL says ---
  • Easily absorbed into the skin without much effort on rubbing/massaging.

AMW says ---
  • I always wake up with "matte-looking" skin but never dry.
  • Has one tiny bump on my cheek but I did not blame the product as it must've been my hormones.
  • Make up application was an ease and dryness was obviously lessened.
AMW's MIL says ---
  • She can't really tell if there's any changes in terms of wrinkle improvement.
  • As I look closely on her skin, her skin looks a bit plump though she lacks sleep on most days.

AMW says ---
  • My forehead has a tiny bit of decrease on lines but very minimal and probably can't be seen unless zoomed in on photos!
  • Skin remains clear, pimples aren't visible but my regular "redness" from allergic reactions are still visible.
  • Skin felt smoother and brighter looking.  I did skip my highlighter application on this week and like the glow I see in front of the mirror.
AMW's MIL says ---
  • Personally speaking, she can't seem to see any difference!  *laughs*  My Mom-in-law CANNOT be a reviewer! hahaha
  • I did look closely and saw that her skin looks moisturized at the same time, lines were blurred a bit as it was filled with "moisture" which made her skin looks plump <-- which gives an illusion of a wrinkle-free skin.
  • Her dark sun spot was lightened.

Overall
In a full month of usage, both MIL and myself can't seem to find a HUGE difference in terms of wrinkle-improvement or lessening of fine lines.  The instant gratification would be...clear, matte-looking skin the next day of first time application PLUS the bright glow it gives that doesn't come out from oiliness.

It is a major plus that the product smells and feels good and application was always an ease as it gets absorbed into the skin easily!

Tips
  • Oily skinned individuals may read the result of other testers as this was tested on normal/dry skin.
  • Do a patch test if you are sensitive to certain ingredients.
  • You don't need to follow the exact amount as written on instructions but add the number of drops as you go on.  This will help your skin get used to the new ingredients injected in your skincare regimen.
  • If you broke out or suffers from allergic reactions, STOP usage immediately!
Will I repurchase?
I personally think this is a nice addition to my skincare regimen to help prevent future lines and wrinkles but I can get away without this for now.

To whom do I recommend this to?
People who are into serums that are potent and targets specific skin concerns.

Where to purchase and how much?
At local Estee Lauder counters for Php4,800 (approx $112.00).

Product close-up

The dropper that works really well!
Very hygienic and easy to control the amount of product needed.

ANR's texture is  just like any serum
Not too sticky nor watery
Color has a hint of yellow shade

Once rubbed, it gets absorbed into the skin
IN AN INSTANT!

I can't seem to pick out much difference on other parts of my face and my MIL was a bit busy to have her before and after photo taken!  So in this post, I will be the ultimate Guinea Pig :P

You can see that both photos are my forehead as you can see a mole and visible scar on the lower part of both photos.  The lines on my forehead are still there but it was blurred out a bit after a month's usage not because it's magic, but because Estee Lauder's ANR did moisturized my skin and gives a nice glow.

Keep in mind that different individuals react to the same product differently!  Other factors like stress, lack of sleep or sickness may make me look older in the next months *knocks of wood* but it doesn't mean we can go blaming on products for not working!

Stay tuned as I will be announcing the winner anytime today! :)
Thanks Estee Lauder Philippines for sharing another bottle to 1 Lucky Reader :)

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

Keep smilin'
Stay happy!

  3. Why does this remind me of Kielhl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate? Maybe the dropper & blue bottle :)

    1. Yes, you are right, this has always been compared to the Kiehl's one because of the same texture of the serum plus the "dropper" bottle :)

  5. i read a lot of reviews that this serum works very good on skin, but unfortunately it didn't work for me..the next morning after i applied this serum, i have redness on my nose side very bad and a little bit swelling.i don't know that it's because i'm allergic to the ingredients inside it or my skin just too sensitive to it. i have sensitive and acne prone skin..because this serum quite pricey i'm a little bit upset with the result.anyone can give me advice either i have to take secong chance to this serum or i better don't use it anymore

    1. You may give this product another try but this time, instead of putting the serum all over your face, try to apply a bit from lower cheeks down to the neck area, and see after 12 hours if you suffer from any redness or itchiness, if that's the case, then too bad, you're really allergic to the product and you can probably sell it to your friends or anyone interested. Sometimes, your skin is reacting to a new product (especially potent ones) at first usage. So I strongly suggest if you have sensitive skin to do a patch test. Goodluck!
