Weekend Food Trip at: Mesa, Robinsons Magnolia

It's Sunday Everyone and I'm sharing another weekend food trip post to all of you who are into trying out different dishes!

My brother came back home for a short visit over the holidays and we always make sure to have a family get-together at a Filipino restaurant.  Since he likes to go back to Robinson's Magnolia, it was a perfect time for us to choose Mesa!  We had to wait for almost half an hour for our seat as we are in a big group plus there were just so many people at Mesa post-holiday!  Or shall I say, most restaurants at Robinsons Magnolia are always packed!

When we dine in a Filipino restaurant, there will always be Sisig dish present!

Sisig With Egg
Php180.00 (approx $4.18)
This is more of a "wet" Sisig, I actually like my sisg crispy and dry!  But this isn't bad at all!

Chicken Pork Adobo Mesa Way
Php185.00 (approx $4.30)
A Filipino favorite of chicken and pork stewed in soy, vinegar and spices.

So far, this is my favorite dish of the night!  The pork is very tender and flavorful!  I got mostly pork though and and find only a few pieces of chicken.

Simply Grilled Squid
Php280.00 (approx $ 6.50)
Another hit!  The squid served was super fresh and the sauce used has a sweet and tangy taste!

Kare-Kare Oxtail and Tripe
Php385.00 (approx $8.95)
Oxtail, tripe and fresh vegetables cooked in rich creamy peanut sauce.
Not the best Kare-Kare in town in terms of the quantity and the look!  Though you definitely cannot judge the taste by its color, it actually tastes better than it looks!  I wish they added more vegetables though!

We ordered quite a lot and I was busy taking Baby AMW around the mall while waiting for our food that's why I missed taking photos of the appetizers!  I have to mention that we ordered Baked Scallops with Garlic Butter and it tastes oh so good!  Definitely A MUST!  The scallops' size isn't big but it is worth it for Php210.00!  My mom loves Laing so they ordered that as well but I can't comment on it as I do not eat Laing so I gave it a pass! :)

Overall, this isn't my first at Mesa Restaurant but it is a first for me at Robinsons Magnolia branch!  I prefer dining at the Greenbelt branch as the place is more spacious and the ambiance is better as well!
