Weekend Food Trip at: Huey Ying Restaurant, Seaside Macapagal

Hi AMW Friends!
I did tell you I will be enjoying my birthday celebrating with my family right?  Well, there are 2 families to be exact but I celebrated it first with My family!  And where's the best place to eat?  At Seaside Macapagal --- better known as Dampa for sure!

I've heard so much good things about the good food you can try at Dampa, Mr. AMW ate there several times with colleagues on a Friday night!  I always say NO to a "dampa" invitation because of my seafood allergies!  But a couple of weeks ago, when my mom-in-law celebrated her birthday and she specifically requested for "dampa celebration", who I am to say no?

Off we went and for the first time in my "seafood eating life", I went home getting ready to take my anti-histamines and I actually survived not taking one!  So must be the "Freshness" of the food or whatever it is, I was ecstatic and vouched to go back on my birthday!

And I did! --- too bad I'm itching now!  *laughs*  I talked way too soon right?  But no worries, I'll be alright!  My tummy is very happy!  And that's what matters for a 36 year old me! :P

We dined at Huey Ying Restaurant, 4th restaurant after the huge Claire De La Fuente!  We've decided to go back to this particular restaurant because I was craving for their Sinigang na Miso!  I'll tell you more about it when I share the photo.

What did I ordered?

We actually took a bite on readily available pork BBQ while waiting for the rest of the dishes!  It was really good so we totally forgot to take photos!  It was Php70.00 a stick, not too cheap yet not too expensive, just right because it was really delicious so every single peso was well spent!

Beef with Broccoli
Ordered this the 2nd time around and so far, they remain as good as it looks!  The beef strips are really tender and flavorful and the Broccoli are still crunchy and fresh!  Toddler AMW's favorite!

Liempo
Another star!  You have to order this when you visit Huey Ying!  They look like normal Liempo that you can get anywhere but these tiny strips of pork are packed with flavors!  I don't even need the calamansi because I love how flavorful each tiny bites are!  I usually get rid of the fat but these have a bit of crunch making every sinful bite worth it!  (Note: I"m not even a fan of Liempo!)

MORE

Sinigang na Miso with Salmon
Sinigang na Miso is already unique but adding it with Salmon made this soup sweet, a bit sour and really delicious!  You don't get the "fishy" or oily tateo f salmon, with the right amount of vegetables and really fresh Salmon, this is definitely a MUST when you visit Huey Ying!  Extra rice please!

Suahe
As much as it is very tempting to order shrimps covered with cheese or butter, we've decided to go for the simplest recipe!  Steamed live shrimps are wonderful if the shrimps are fresh!  And they definitely are!  Lose that poise and use your bare hands, add a bit of the spicy soy sauce that comes with the dish makes every bite finger-lickin' good!

Tempura
Another must to try!  On every table, you'll see a tower of Tempura and now I understand why!  These are the best Tempura I've tried to date!  Even better than those served in Japanese restaurants!

Overall, the experience was really good!  Even though the place was packed, it wasn't dirty or too noisy!  You only need to have a bit of patience as they have a lot of customers so when you ask them to "shop" for ingredients and cook for you, it may take a while!  It took us 45 minutes to finally eat!  So yes, patience is really a virtue!

As for parking, there is a huge parking space in the area!

Keep in mind that the restaurant accepts credit card (but for the cooking service), it is best to pay in cash for the ingredients both at the wet market!
