Irresistible Me Jade Hair Straightening Brush Review

Lifeless, frizzy, unmanageable.

But how do I manage to look so "together" at times?  On photos?  During events? 

Well, aside from makeup and skincare, I highly depend on hair tools in making me look more "put together" than usual.  

I recently got the chance to try a Ceramic Straightening Brush , these types of brushes is what I've been longing to try as early as my teenage years!  I remembered browsing through international magazines hoping one day, I'll own one...and finally I did! (Sadly, I'm not a teenager anymore! hahaha)

Let's start by talking about the "brush head".  Each bristle is made of plastic and covered with heated ceramic and tourmaline heating surface.  

The bristle is a bit shorter than most hair brush tools I own, the distance of each bristle is just right so I can comfortably comb my hair without hair snags.

3 switch buttons are visible on the side.  The center is the power on/off button while the plus (+) and (-) signs help you control the multiple temperature settings ranging from 270℉ (130℃) to 450℉ (230℃).

Thankfully, even with the location of these buttons, they aren't sensitive enough to be "touched" during use.  

I also like the "swivel" which I think is the most important "feature" in ALL hairstyling tools!

The LCD display is clear enough and even lighted so you can see the temperature of the ceramic brush in the dark!  (But of course, I don't recommend you to use this in the dark!)

How to use?

The Irresistible Me Jade Hair Straightening Brush is quite easy to use.  I use it like how I would use a regular brush minus the blowdryer.  I make sure to use this only when my hair is completely dry.  Take a small section and pass through the heated ceramic brush slowly. Be very careful not to touch the brush directly.  But thankfully, the design of the brush is easy to work with so I don't really get to touch the heated portion even in a hurry.

On areas that tend to be frizzy (near my roots), I like to leave it for a couple of minutes and gently brush through going downwards.  Also, once I reach the ends, I like to flip the brush to give a bit of volume.

I increase temperature on first use and decrease just to "touch up" everything once I'm happy with the look of my hair.  Keep in mind that this tool isn't meant for "curling" but more of lessening the frizz of your hair and creating a healthier-looking hair.

Overall, here's what I can say about the Irresistible Me Jade Hair Straightening Brush which I've been using for the past month.

• Inexpensive considering the quality you get.  The only downside is that, I have to wait FOREVER for shipping!  I didn't pay extra nor taxed for this.
• The feel of the product is super nice, the finish of the brush is non-slip so I can hold this tool well. 
• The brush heats up pretty quickly.
• It takes approximately a week for me to get used to this product as opposed to using a flat iron.  I've been a flat iron user for YEARS so you'll need a bit of time to get used to this.
• Get to know your hair type so you'll know the exact temperature that would work for you.  You can choose between Celsius or Fahrenheit.  I use 200 degree Celsius if I want to lessen frizz, I increase temperature if I wanted really straight hair.
• Universal voltage, maybe you may need a plug adaptor.
• This comes with auto-shut off function which is perfect since I have Mommy-brain!
• Though I still prefer flat iron because I am so used to using this tool for years, I like to use this on days I want my hair to look shinier and healthier because this is less damaging to hair as compared to using a regular flat iron.
• The best way to use this, AMW-style is to use my trusty flat iron in the morning as I like to create waves and curls, then use the Irresistible Me Jade Hair Straightening Brush midday for "retouch" because my hair tends to frizz midday.

Overall, this is a great hairstyling tool to own, not the type I can't live without but definitely nice to have.
