Weekeend Foot Trip at: Open Table Restaurant

Every single weekend of the year (Saturdays OR Sundays), we meet up with my family for a quiet dinner just to catch up on each others' lives!  Because of that, I'm starting to let them try new restaurants as much as I can because we really love bonding over food!

Because I am a researcher at heart, I've found a restaurant called Open Table located at Mother Ignacia, Quezon City.

This is a small restaurant wherein they can fit 2 small tables on the first floor and around 20pax max on the second floor.  I highly recommend to call the restaurant for reservation if you plan to dine in big groups!  I gave them a call earlier because my dad is on wheelchair and thankfully, we were able to get the 2 tables at the first floor because the stairs are quite steep going up for an almost 80 year old person!

I checked out their menu prior to going there but unfortunately, a lot of the dishes we wanted to try are unavailable!  We were told by the friendly staffs that they didn't have any deliveries that day which I understood because it was nearing Christmas when we dined there.

Caesar Salad
Because I was a bit full then, I ordered their salad and it was just like any regular salad you have in the market and I requested for dressing on the side!

Creamy linguini pasta tossed in cream sauce with bacon and Parmesan Cheese.

This is really creamy and tasty!  If you like your carbonara to be really heavy, get this and worry about the calories later.

Chicken Tenders
Battered chicken strips that comes with honey mustard.  Nothing spectacular, just the usual chicken tenders you get in most American restaurants.

Honey Tabasco Pork Belly
This is really tender and juicy and I wish they can come up with the same recipe minus Tabasco, making it a sweeter version!  Not everyone can take spicy food and since this earned a thumbs up from my brother, I hope they add in a non-spicy version in the recipe.

Jerked Chicken
Marinated boneless chicken leg quarter chargrilled  with pesto-like sauce.  My mom said this is okay but I find this a bit burnt on the exterior.  The inside tastes flavorful and juicy still so I'm okay with it!

Pork Ribs
Php435.00 with 2 side dishes
A very tender and flavorful BBQ'd Pork Ribs.  It has a hint of spiciness from the BBQ sauce used.

We would like to try their bestselling dishes that weren't available that night (ex. Mik-Mik's Pork Chop, Devilled Pork Chop, etc..)

If you are looking for a small restaurant for a bit of peace and quiet for catch-up, this is a nice place to try.

Happy New Year guys!!! I can't wait to spend quality time with the family before the busy 2018 starts!  Praying everyone has a safe and happy new year!  God Bless us All!
