Revlon Colorstay Brow Crayon Review

Wow, a Brow Crayon?  A jumbo brow crayon?  I find it a bit challenging for a first-timer to use a brow pencil I can't imagine using something as big as this crayon (shown on photo below).  Why and how will this work out?

I, the ultimate beauty product tester gave the newest Revlon Colorstay Brow Crayon a try.  Yes, you'll hear it from me (I mean READ), it is difficult, weird for first few tries, but it's quite nice as the effect is like no other.

SOFT BROWN

Revlon Colorstay Brow Crayon Says ---
Get fuller, softly defined brows with the Revlon ColorStay Brow Crayon. It features conditioning pomade with triple butter complex that tints, tames, and defines. Buildable, blendable color for more intensity with a wax to powder finish. The retractable crayon makes it convenient to use, wears up to 24 hours, and is waterproof.

AMW says ---

Pros

  • Can set the brows and put them in place like pomade.
  • Has a soft color making it super natural.
  • Can be used as a primer to keep brow powder in place.  Works like a brow wax.
  • Brows look fuller.

Cons

  • Because of the size of the crayon, it is a bit difficult to use for the first few tries.
  • Will not stay if you have oily skin.
  • Because the crayon is very soft, has the tendency to break easily.
  • If you are aiming for pigmented brow product, this won't make the cut.

Overall
I would call this a Brow Wax or Brow Primer instead of a crayon.  The shade Soft Brown is indeed very soft and natural-looking.  Would work on users who already have full brows.

Tips

  • Apply thinly on brows and brush with a spoolie to prevent brow hairs from clumping.
  • If you want definition and color, you may apply brow powder after.
  • Store in cool, dry place as the brow crayon will melt.
  • Available in other shades, so you may pick other shades depending on your Brow Goals - Blonde, Soft Brown, Dark Brown and Soft Black.

Will I repurchase?
No.

To whom do I recommend this to?
Those with already full and dark brows.  This is a great brow "set" product too.

Where to purchase and how much?
At local Revlon counters priced at Php375.00.

Swatch

As for application, I like to start at the center of the brows applying with light hand motion.  This feels a bit waxy at first, all you need to do is let it set and brush off with spoolie.

Before and After
It gives a hint of color so if you have super dark brows like I do, best to use brow gel to tint the rest of the brow hairs or add brow powder.

  1. Nowadays I'm good to go with browcaras...I discovered a very cheap one from detail.

  2. Seeing this made me thinking this is hard to use from the looks of it. Well, I think more women will rather choose the pencil or a brow powder rather than this, it will melt especially with our weather.

    1. Well true, I find this to be hard to use too even if I'm used to using ALL TYPES of brow products, but I guess if you have unruly brows, this is the only way to really make it stick like POMADE as brow mascaras do not work on some brows!
