Just right...am I right?
That is the most requested look that I've been getting for the year 2018 - Fresh, Healthy and GLOWING skin!
How to achieve such look for someone living in such a humid weather like the Philippines?
Let's talk about the difference between a "highlighter" and an "Illuminator".
How to achieve such look for someone living in such a humid weather like the Philippines?
Let's talk about the difference between a "highlighter" and an "Illuminator".
Highlight is for "concentrated area", while illuminator are create to enhance or create a feeling of light from "within".
Let's say, you can "highlight" your nose bridge, cheekbones and chin and you can actually "illuminate" the rest of you face for that "fresh" look.
You see the difference now? I guess this is the time you can actually say: "Ahh, I need an illuminator in my life!"
And here's a perfect product to share because this is a legit ILLUMINATOR from Max Factor.
Max Factor Miracle Glow Duo Pro Illuninator
Php895.00
Available in shades: Light, Medium and Deep
Miracle Glow Duo is a duo of creamy highlighters: one matte highlighter to perfect skin and one shimmery highlighter to boost radiance and glow. Use them alone or in combination. Shades have been designed by Max Factor make-up artists to virtually suit every skin tone. Creamy soft texture allows for a quick and easy highlighting look as formula is easily blendable and buildable. Highlighting adds more light and is used to emphasise the angular areas on your face that naturally catch light.
I got the shade 20 Medium for review which is a perfect shade for me. Housed in a plastic compact, the illuminator is divided into 2 with a choice of lighter and darker illuminator. Don't worry about how it looks on pan because once swatched, it appears more subtle.
Swatch:
Top: A correct color. This is perfect for spot illuminating (also works as highlighter if you have medium to dark complexion).
This product can be used under the eye, on the chin and forehead.
Bottom: A bit closer to skin tone with a more subtle sheen. Gives a healthy glow.
The right side of the palette is actually meant to be a highlighting shade if you read instructions but I find using the left-hand side to be a perfect highlighter for me (and my skintone). This color is subtle enough yet gives a nice "oomph" on areas of my face like the C-section.
And yet, I love how it looks subtle enough without any chucks or glitters. This gives off a nice highlight lifting my cheeks making me look like I have good cheekbones.
On the other hand, the right side of the palette is close to my skin tone so I like to apply this thinly all over my cheeks and the rest of my face.
The effect is natural and almost invisible to the naked eye, but in person it gives a certain amount of warmth working like a nice tan.
Overall, The Max Factor Miracle Glow Duo Pro Illuminator is a great product in terms of quality - it applies smoothly and creamy and dries off matte. My skin does not oil up and I don't need to set this product.
Longevity? It stays around 4 hours to 5 hours max and retouching is needed if you want to maintain that glow from within. I find that retouching my powder will lessen the illuminated effect.
If you are a first-timer who does not want to mess up with highlighting your face, this is actually a great product to start with.
