Initial Thoughts on Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask

Althea, my go-to online store for Korean goodies actually came up with their own skincare line.  I was given the chance to try their newest Milk Peel Cream Mask which is meant to gently strip away dead skin cells and keep skin refreshed all day long.

I brought this with me in my recent HK trip and was able to use this 2 times.  So this is just my initial thoughts, things could change and I'll update it here for sure.

Give your skin a big gulp of hydration with the refreshing peeling powers of Althea's Milk Peel Cream Mask! Containing both AHA and BHA extracts, this gentle but effective exfoliator transforms from a clay to a whipped cream lather, whisking away dead skin cells to prevent flakiness. It’s also formulated with casein protein from milk to revitalize and moisturize the skin. The result is radiantly smooth, healthy skin that's bouncy to the touch!

So update on my skin, I have combination skin now sometimes Dry/Normal, sometimes Normal/Oily on the T-zone.  I still have issues of dryness on colder months so I am very careful when it comes to masks that has the word "peel".

Thankfully, the Althea Milk Peel Cream isn't the harsh peeling type of mask.  This is more on the gentler side which is actually nice.

How to use?  I'd like to pump a couple of times for product to come out.  It looks like a lotion type product, so I was wondering how to "foam" would form.

I prefer to pump approximately 6-8 times in total to fill up my whole face.

I'd like to spread the product as shown on photo below before scooping out the product and apply evenly on my face.

My face should be damp, massage the product gently on my skin and wait for a couple of seconds, you'd actually feel the product "activated" as it foams up.  Truth be told, I felt a bit ticklish at this stage!

I waited for a good 30-60 seconds before washing off the product.  For first time use, I let it sit for the shortest amount of time just to make sure I don't have allergic reactions.  After my first try, I went ahead and left it a couple of seconds longer and so far so good.

Overall, I find this to be a nice once or twice a week routine.  My face feels really clean and soft after use and I prefer to follow up immediately with my serum and moisturizer just to keep my skin hydrated.  Though this product is meant to hydrate my skin, I feel that my skin felt extremely clean after every use thus adding moisture is needed since my skin tends to dry up easily.

This is a great deep cleansing product if you are a makeup wearer, if you tend to wear heavy makeup, it is recommended to use this product more often (twice to thrice a week maybe).

I am very happy that my skin did not react negatively to this product so I am inserting this in my skincare routine.
