The Body Shop Shine Lip Liquid Review

I was a bit late to review this on the Blog but if you follow me on Instagram and watched my stories, you've probably seen me unbox these TBS Shine Lip Liquid and shared my initial thoughts!  (Shameless plug coming up)  If you want fresh and on time review/thoughts of products please follow me on Instagram and watch my stories!  The blogpost will always come in late as I take at least a week to share my full review on a particular product.

Now, back to regular programming.  Today, after testing all the 4 shades of The Body Shop Shine Lip Liquid, I can now safely say, these aren't just meant for the Holidays - though it'll be perfect to wear them in Christmas parties but hey, Chinese New Year is coming up anyways!

Sweeten up your look with our illuminating, nourishing liquid shine lipsticks, now available in 3 new shimmering shades. Enriched with jojoba oil and Community Trade marula oil and argan oil.

I divide these into 2, the first 2 Lemon Sherbet and Blueberry Chew looks very natural and acts just like most lipglosses I own.  It gives shine and can be worn alone or used on top of your favorite lip colors.

Russet Copper and Black Licorice acted like Liquid Lipsticks with high shine!

The doe foot applicator is really  nice and easy to use.

 AMW wears Lemon Sherbet
The most invisible of them all!  I like to use this to hydrate my lips in between the day even on top of my matte lipsticks, it won't alter the shade of my lip color and I love how it made my lips look healthier.

 AMW wears Blueberry Chew
Blueberry chew has a nice lilac pink shade making this a perfect "wear alone shade" or best to be top on your favorite pinks or red lipsticks!

 AMW wears Russet Copper
Russet Copper is surprisingly metallic!  It looks like you foiled a copper eyeshadow and put it on your lips!  I have to be careful in wearing this (though I love the shade), the metallic shine would enhance my dry lips so I top Lemon Sherbet on top!

 AMW wears Black Liquorice
This has a thinner consistency as compared to Russet Copper.  This looks pretty dark on tube but surprisingly not bad in person!  If you like that vampy look minus the dry lips, this is a great color to try especially for someone like me who always tend to go for girly colors!  This is a nice subtle change that won't shock my parents!

Overall, here's what I have to say about The Body Shop Shine Lip Liquid ---

  • Great packaging.
  • Applicator is nice to use and high quality.
  • Non-sticky.
  • Hydrating on dry lips
  • For a lip gloss, it's not the "wet" kind so it looks quite natural to wear on a daily basis, even non-holidays.
  • I wish they have something in between, a shade that I can really wear on a daily basis , somewhat like blueberry Chew or Lemon Sherbet but has a bit more color to it.  (Note to self: Must try other shades in store)
  • Lasts approximately 1-2 hours for lighter shades while the darker shades can last up to 3 hours with eating and drinking.
  • Re-application is highly needed so you have to bring this with you if you plan to use this the whole day!
  • I find that these are best used as a lipgloss and better if you have something underneath.
Which among the 4 shades I featured do you like the most?
Would you go back to wearing glossy lip products or are are you keeping the matte lips this 2019?
