MAC Lightful C³ Emulsion and Compact Cushion Review

 

When MAC Lightful  C³  was officially released, a lot are intrigued by it because it focuses on keeping the skin plump, hydrating, glowing and best of all, perfect for everyday use!

I was able to try 2 products from the collection --- MAC Lightful  C³  Emulsion and Cushion!  

After using these 2 products for a month, I am ready to share my thoughts!

MAC Lightful  C³  Emulsion ---

Instant hydration and softening with a rosy tone-up effect.  Skin appears brighter, more radiant and more even-toned, immediate and over time.

Here's what I noticed after consistently using the emulsion.  Skin feels immediately soft and smooth (like baby's bum!)  Since my skin is hydrated, it gives a glowing effect making my skin looks alive and plump!

The plump and hydration lasts for hours so I don't have issues using drying foundation because my skin is well-hydrated throughout the day.  I also noticed how my skin has an instant tone-up!  And I don't have any allergic reactions using such product.

Since I have sensitive nose, there is quite a strong fragrance for me which goes away after 10 minutes to 15 minutes.  Others will not notice this but because of my sensitivity, I really prefer skincare products to be fragrance-free - that's just me!

This is how my bare skin looks after MAC Lightful  C³  Emulsion application. 

Now on to the next photo, you can immediate see a half-face effect.  Left side facing you I applied the new MAC Lightful  C³  Compact Cushion in shade Extra Light.  

I was a bit taken aback at first since I never wear Extra Light base makeup since I have strong yellow undertone.  This surprisingly melts into your skin blending well to your skintone making it look so natural like I ended up looking like I am not wearing any makeup at all!  I just need to wait for around 5 minutes after application to se this makeup properly.

Housed in a typical compact foundation with a cute pink cover on top (very different from the all black MAC case), I really like the girly and dainty feel.  It comes with a sponge and I apply this with a patting motion starting from the center of my face (undereye particularly) and spread everything out evenly without adding more.

I find the product to be pigmented and you can control application from light, medium to medium heavy coverage!  I can actually get away wearing only this and skip concealer! 

Since I am not comfortable wearing "extra light" even if it actually looks matching on me, I still prefer to set it with a light yellow translucent powder and I like this more!  Check out my photo below where I applied a thin layer of MAC Lightful  C³ Compact foundation all over face and set lightly with Kate Tokyo Compact Powder Foundation.

If you ask me, this is the best MAC collection for users with normal/dry combination skin.  I use MAC Studio Fix A LOT on clients but never on myself because of my dry and sensitive skin nature, with these 2 products, I find myself reaching out to these 2 Lightful C³ more than my other products!
