Skintific Brightening Moisture Gel vs. 5x Ceramide Moisture Gel

 

One thing you should be reminded of while reading this is that I have Sensitive Skin.  A skin so sensitive I can immediately tell if a product would work for me or not by using it only once!  I get itchy, rashes will appear and anti-histamine is immediately needed before it's too late.

That is why no matter how viral a product can be on Tiktok or Instagram, I can only use products with ingredients that I know are safe enough to work for my skin.  So when I was offered some Skintific products to try, I did research and these 2 products got a good pass when I saw their ingredients list before deciding to put these to test.  I mean we sensitive girlies should protect ourselves right? 

Skintific's tag line: "We Repair Your Skin Barrier."  spoke straight to my heart as the first 2 paragraphs of this blog post have described my skin condition --- weak skin barrier. I have to make sure to use products that does not only hydrate but keep it protected from external aggressors.

Before I share the answer, let me share to you my exact skin condition before testing the product for transparency. 

I suffered from eye allergies for the past month so I had to skip using eye creams and first key details about each product that I get to try ended up sleeping without using any skincare products from side effects of medicines (drowsiness!).  I noticed how my whole face suffered from my eye condition (which is healing as of writing but you can still see redness on my before photos!)  

Prior to testing, my skin looked and felt dry.  Putting on makeup was a task because the foundation tends to sink in dry patches and lines and redness occur depending on where my skin felt itchy!  

I started testing this out with a patch test at the back of my ear then once passed, I applied each product on half face for the next 2-3 weeks.   You shouldn't do it but I did it for you anyways :P

I applied a good amount starting from my cheek area as I needed more brightening on that part.  I have random redness on bad days and clearer skin on good days.  In the testing period, my skin particularly felt tight due to dryness and sudden change of weather.  You will see in my before after (2-3 weeks ago) below how dry the center of my face looked and there were some faint redness in that area.

It is not super obvious on camera but if you zoom in, you will see that the tightness of the skin at the center of my face look less visible.  Redness also disappeared in just a week's use.  I noticed how I breeze through foundation application as the product glides smoothly leaving no obvious lines.

On to the product texture, it is very lightweight and I noticed how it gets absorbed into skin after application in about 2-3 minutes. That said, I highly recommend this product for ALL skin types.

Formulated with 5 different types of Ceramides (5X Ceramide) which are CERAMIDE NP, CERAMIDE EOP, CERAMIDE AP, CERAMIDE AS, CERAMIDE NS that works great combined to repair and maintain skin natural barrier. Ceramide can help to repair skin barrier, moisturize the skin, calms disturbed skin cells, reduce redness, and soften the texture of the skin. This moisturizer is completed with ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid, Centella Asiatica, dan Marine Collagen to hydrate deepest skin layer, prevent inflammation, and soften the skin texture, and prevent premature aging. You can definitely see huge difference on my before and after photo as I apply a generous amount on this side of the face at night before I go to sleep using it as my "Sleeping Mask".  I did apply Brightening Moisture Gel on the other side of my face at night but it gets absorbed quicker than the latter so I guess hydration works more when it comes to 5x Ceramide Moisture Gel.  

But that said, I can see people who are on the combination or oily skin side can still use this as the product still felt light.  I like how this has cooling effect after application that relieves not only my skin but my tiredness.

As you can see, both sides of my face exude plumpness and freshness.  I am happy to report that my skin does not feel as dry as the time I started using the product.  I can even skip moisturizer in the morning if I am not testing out these products.  That's how hydrated my skin was every single morning.

If you can't decide which product is good for you, I  suggest using Skintific Brightening Moisture Gel (pink) during daytime as it gets absorbed so quickly and felt almost nothing on my skin and you can use 5x Ceramide Moisture Gel (Blue) at night by applying a thicker layer all over face and neck before you go to sleep as a sleeping mask.  But if you need only just 1 product, let me break it down and make it easier for you to understand.

Key Ingredient ---

Pink (Niacinamide, Alpha Arbutin and Tranaxamic Acid): 

Niacinamide helps reduce pore size and skin texture thus will help skin looks tight and healthier. Alpha Arbutin is a know ingredient to help lessen dark blemishes while reduce the appearance of fine lines while Tranaxamic Acid helps prevent freches, acne scars and even sun spots.

Blue (Ceramide, Hyaluronic Acid, Marine Collagen): 

Ceramide helps in moisture retention and increase barrier protection.  Hyaluronic acid is used for hydration to create plumper-looking skin.  Marine Collagen on skincare will help counteract damaging free radicals thus will help in skin elasticity.

Both product contains Centella Asiatica, which is a skin-loving, soothing ingredient that will calm skin from aggressors.  No wonder both products worked for me without any skin irritations.

In my humble opinion, if you need more anti-aging benefits and you want to remove or lessen dark spots, go for Skintific Brightening Moisture (Pink) while you intake a right dosage of Vitamin C to help your skin improve.  If your only worry is lack of hydration or you want your skin to look plump and healthy, go for Skintific 5x Ceramide Moisture Gel (blue).

Both should go along with your choice of sunscreen as sun exposure is definitely our enemy here on most skin concerns.
