AMW Reviews: Watsons Men Shower Gel

It was exactly a year ago when I received all 3 Watsons Men Shower Gel and gave it all to Mr. AMW and told him: "You need these!  You stink!" (in a very loving way) :P  

Surprisingly, Mr. AMW didn't take it negatively and happily took all 3 shower gel variants and surprise surprise!  After a year, I was told he used them all up!  (Very unusual as Mr. AMW is very loyal with his Safeguard bars!)

As a husband of AMW, you just can't get things for free without giving me feedback right?  So there I went pestering him with Pros and Cons and I'm glad the kind hubby happily obliged with my long interrogation!

Watsons says ---

Pros

• Easy grip, sporty packaging.
• Smells great.
• Comes in 3 variants where guys can get to pick the scent they want.  Mr. AMW's favorite is the energizing variant.
• Doesn't leave an oily-feel to the skin.  Very important for ALL guys!
• Skin doesn't feel dry after every shower.
• Price.
  

Cons

• The scent isn't long-lasting and I can't tell when Mr. AMW uses this particular shower gel.

Overall

For someone as picky as Mr. AMW in terms of bath products, this passed his standard.  He likes the scent and the way it doesn't dry out his skin and best of all, there's none of the greasy-feel!

Tips

• Shower gels are best used with loofah or bath sponge.  
• Buy these shower gels and give them as gifts this Christmas!
• Once signs of irritations occur, stop usage immediately.

Will I repurchase?
Yes!

To whom do I recommend this to?
Guys who like the clean after-bath feel yet want their skin to stay moisturized.

Laneige Snow BB Soothing Cushion SPF50+ PA+++ Review

It's mid-week once again and Christmas is almost near!!!  Do you have a list on what to spend with your Christmas Bonus? 

My answer is baby-related stuff!  Anything for Baby AMW of course!

While you are still thinking about your "Christmas Wish List", I will be sharing a review on a unique product called Laneige Snow BB Soothing Cushion.  As much as I would love to test this outside, the shade I got for review isn't right but for the sake of review, I only tried this out "indoors".

Snow BB Soothing Cushion Compact + Refill

Laneige came up with the Snow BB Lines featuring Snow BB Cream (cream), Snow BB Balm (Balm) and Snow BB Soothing Cushion (emulsion).  The latter is what I will be featuring!

AMW Reviews: Avon Ultra Moisture Rich Moisture Seduction Lipstick in Rose Ribbons

I have a stash of lipsticks that I haven't touched for quite some time and one day, as I was rummaging through it to "refurbish" some on my makeup train case, I came upon a cute "black bullet".  It was the Ultra Moisture Rich Moisture Seduction Lipstick by Avon.  I believe these gorgeous lipsticks were launched last year and the biggest selling point?  ULTRA MOISTURE!  I can't believe I missed this and went ahead to open the packaging and tested it immediately. 

On Spotlight: P102 Rose Ribbons

Avon says ---

A captivating breakthrough in the art of desire. A sublime blend of color and moisture in one seductive lipstick. Ribbons of hydrating moisture are intertwined with rich color.

AMW says ---
Pros

• The marbled effect gives a unique look.
• Glides on lips smoothly even without lip balm underneath.
• Lipstick has good amount of moisture so lips has a nice "shine" (non-oily) after application.
• The color may be sheer but it stays for a good amount of time.
• Comes with SPF 15 which is always good to protect the lips.
• My lips don't chap or flake.
• Scent is bearable.

Cons

• Difficult to try on testers.
• Wide shade selection when these lipsticks came out but the shades are quite toned down.

Overall

The simple black plastic packaging is nice on any makeup case and the lipstick itself has a marbled effect making the lipstick gorgeous to look at even on tube.  The lipstick has SPF15 which is great news and gives ultra moisture to my lips even without lip balm.  The color is sheer yet build-able.
 
Tips

• Never lick your lips prior to lipstick application, instead, apply lip balm to moisturize and blot with a tissue paper.
• Though this lipstick doesn't trigger chapping, it is best to moisturize your lips with your choice of balm especially if you suffer from dry lips like I do! 
• Apply layer after layer to build pigmentation.
• Top with a clear gloss for an extra shine!

Will I repurchase?
Yes!

To whom do I recommend this to?
Sheer lipstick wearers.  This product best YOU who are allergic to drying lipsticks!
The shade Rose Ribbons looks great on all skin tones!

Note: I suffer from super dry lips in the past and even worst with the pregnancy hormones so please consider how the lipstick didn't cause my lips to chap or flake as good enough reason for me to like the "extra moisture" this lipstick gives as I didn't exfoliate nor apply lip balm underneath.

What's your favorite Avon Lipstick?

So far, this is my favorite Avon lipstick to date and I wish this particular line will be available forever!  I have ordered the same shade for my mom as she loved this particular shade and she told me this is her daily lipstick!

AMW Bulletin: Twinkling Treats from Go Nuts Donuts

AMW Reviews: Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser

Happy start of the week AMW Friends!  How was your weekend?  Mine was super fun as I spent time with hubby's family at Tagaytay!  I've been wanting a short, quick trip outside the Metro to wind up and thank God my prayers were answered!  I'll tell you more about it once I get the chance!

My skincare regimen has always been straightforward, I try not to be too adventurous and stick to skin care products that works for my specific skin type.  Now that I'm pregnant, I am more careful in choosing the right products that would not only work for me but wouldn't harm my baby or my skin!  (It's never bad to stay cautious!)

2 readers asked for my "Pregnancy" face and body regimen, I'll definitely create a separate blog post about it as soon as I can.  As for the moment, let me share to you my thoughts on the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser.   How "ULTRA" effective is it on my skin?

Kiehl's says ---

This gentle, pH-balanced liquid cleanser produces a foaming lather that cleanses skin of excess oils, dirt and debris without over-drying or stripping the skin of its natural oils.

• For All Skin Types
• Gentle Formula
• Dissolves excess oil, dirt and debris
• PH balanced
• Not tested on animals

Size: 5.0 fl. oz / 150ml
Key Ingredients: Apricot Kernel Oil, Avocado Oil, Squalane

AMW says ---
Pros

• Straightforward, simple squeeze-type packaging easy to use.  I even take this full tube along with me on travel!
• A little amount goes a long way!  A tiny pea size amount is great for my face and neck.  
• The cleanser is very gentle on skin and doesn't strip off the skin's natural oil.  Skin feels soft and moisturized after every wash.
• Skin feels clean after every wash.
• Works for ALL skin types.

Cons

• Though the product is said to be fragrance-free, there is a tiny hint of "unexplainable" chemical odor (but not that bad!).  Blame my pregnancy hormones please! :D
• Acne-prone skin may find this product not good enough to fight off pimples and acne. 
• Price.  (Personally speaking, it is worth it as a tube can last me months at the same time, the product works for me.)

Overall

The Kiehl's Ultra Facial cleanser is a no-frill packaged facial cleanser good in removing all traces of dirt (except waterproof makeup) while leaving the skin soft and moisturized.   The texture is mildly thick so a little amount goes a long way.

Tips
from Kiehl's 

• Apply a small amount to clean fingertips.
• Gently massage into damp facial areas in upward, circular motions, avoiding the immediate eye area. 
• Rinse thoroughly or assure removal of cleanser residue with a damp wash cloth.

from AMW

• The cleanser doesn't lather up easily so take time to apply a bit of water and gently lather up before you apply it all over your face.
• For better cleansing, after lathering up product all over your face and neck, proceed by gently exfoliating the product with the use of facial sponge. 
• If you have heavy makeup on, remove all traces of makeup with your choice of makeup remover before cleansing.
• People who suffers from pimples or acne may need the extra strength of other cleansers that can unclog pores.  Talk to local Kiehl's SA as I believe they have Ultra Facial Oil-Free cleanser meant for normal and oily skin (I bought this one for my brother).

Will I repurchase?
Yes!

To whom do I recommend this to?

Though this product can be used for all skin type, I strongly suggest people who suffer from dry, sensitive skin to give this product a try.  It is very difficult for people our skin type to choose the right cleanser.

Where to purchase and how much?
At local Kiehl's around Php1,400.00-1,600.00 (sorry I totally forgot the price, will update once I get the exact amount).

Do you think Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser is enough for you?
I used to think it will never feel enough for me but I've been using this for 2 months now and I'm very happy that my skin feels clean and non-drying no matter how crazy my hormones can get!
