Bea's Make-up as a Candle Sponsor

Bea, the Beatrilicious, was a candle sponsor for her friend's wedding last Sunday.
My lovely model asked me to do her make-up.
She requested a very simple yet "not oily" or "ghost face on photograph" look.
She has to be ready before 11:00am so I went to her home on Sunday at around 9:30am!
It was early, and I seldom get up early during Sundays, but this is so worth it!
Talking to her, chatting with her, giggling while putting make-up...
I didn't even feel stressed or tired at all!
I enjoyed this so much! Thanks for the laughs and for trusting me with your make-up my friend!

And may I add some "on the scene" shots by my wonderful Hubby?

Things Askmewhats learned on gigs like this ---
  • Always come in early
  • Bring your own tissue, cotton buds, wipes etc...
  • Bring your own blowdryer (best for heating the eyelash curler)
  • Disinfect your hands before touching other people's faces
  • If possible, ask them to wash their face again with water, or bring an atomizer and spray on their faces to make the client feels fresh!
  • Put on moisturizer, wait for a couple of minutes before putting on Primer (very important for long events)
  • Take time to apply foundation, and make sure all parts are well covered, even the neck and shoulders
  • Check if the client have dry skin/oily skin/sensitive skin and most especially, if client is ACIDIC (Note: Acidic skin turns the foundation darker after application)
  • After all the make-up application, spritz some atomizer on the face --- really far around 8-12 inches apart to make the make-up stick....let dry, then apply loose powder again to set the look
  • Don't stress yourself and your client. Make her feel happy and comfortable.
There's a whole bunch of stuffs I learned..
But I just posted and highlighted the important ones!
I love it that Bea is letting me know her feedbacks, texting me, telling me how her make-up stayed on with just a very simple powder touch up!
So happy she loved it!
Thanks again Bea!

  4. i'm feeling better. did you ever bleed when you were anemic? my mom said she talked to the doctor and the doctor had told her that sometimes it will throw your cycle off and you will bleed between your cycle. i just don't know how to feel, cause i just found out i'm anemic. i really don't know what to expect, cause i never talked to the doctor. my doctor lives out of town. my mom was like, "your blood tests came back and you're anemic. take these medicines." and that was it. other than that, i never talked to the doctor or knew anything about what to expect. i just read up about it online. the only thing that affects me is probably how tired i feel. today my chest felt a little bit congested like it was hard for me to breathe, but that just happened about an hour ago. now i'm feeling better. just a little tired! i wrote notes for today and am gonna review them and then go to bed. hehe.

  11. Eyelovet! I specially love what you did to her eyes :) The effect is just gorgeous!

One thing I learned about foundation - the hard way, is that the MAC 187 does wonders to make things quicker than using the foundie brush. Gosh, gosh :) and spray's always a great thing to have around with.

    GREAT work! :)

  18. thank you sweetie. i stopped crying and then you made me cry again, cause you're so sweet. i think i'm just upset, cause i know my fiance misses me. we live together but i'm so busy studying so when he gets home, i don't even spend any time with him. plus, i don't want to fall behind on my studies. i feel like he'll always be there for me so that's why i choose school first. but then in my heart i know it's not right...and you're right. i need to sleep on time. i'm just so used to staying up early in the morning studying and then waking up early. i decided NOT to do anymore notes tonight and will just do then tomorrow. i'll do the first lecture in the morning and then study and then do the 2nd in the afternoon and study that. and then try to squeeze in some book reading. hehe. well, my novel. i am gonna go to bed in a bit. but thank you for all your msgs. they made me feel better. i will keep you updated. as of lately, i'm not bleeding as much so i hope by later on today it's gone.
