The quest for a good moisturizer for dry skin continuous, and I'm glad to share my journey with you! Body Lotions, Body Creams, I've tried....and now..there's Body Oil to give it a test!
Neutrogena Body Oil
Light Sesame Formula
Neutrogena Body Oil says ---
Experience Neutrogena Body Oil . Its light sesame formula glides on easily to moisturize dry skin. It's so sheer it vanishes into shower-damp skin leaving it soft and silky, with a radiant, healthy glow. No moisturizer can touch this experience.
Ingredients
Isopropyl Myristate, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, PEG-40 Sorbitan Peroleate, Propylparaben, BHT, Fragrance.
AMW says ---
- moisturizing. Moisture stays longer than regular lotion
- doesn't feel greasy once absorbed
- smells really nice
- gives the skin a nice glow
Cons
- to people who hate the texture of oil, this is not for you
- I'd love to have it "housed" in a better packaging, the cap gets oily and product could easily spill
Overall
Though I have super dry skin, anything with "OIL" written on its packaging is a huge NO NO for me. I am allergic to anything OILY! And I am sure a lot of you feel the same. The first "oil" based product I've tried for my skin is the Johnson's Baby Oil Lite which I didn't use long enough. I really, seriously hate the feeling of oil no matter how "non-greasy" they claim to be.
So when I was given the chance to try the Neutrogena Body Oil, the first thing that attracted me is the scent! I've even given this a try when I know I'm not leaving home, I am THAT skeptical.
My skin hasn't improved overnight but it does give a nice "glow" and "moisture" my skin needs for the day! Crazy as it sounds, I do use this right after shower then add up with a body cream to further "seal in the moisture", and yes, I do that night time to wake up with baby soft skin! Wooppeee! Wanna touch? *winks* LOL
Tips
from Neutrogena
While skin is still damp, smooth on a few drops to help seal in moisture. Let your body dry naturally, or simply pat dry with a towel.
Or in the bath, add to water and soften your skin while you bathe.
from AMW
- it seriously doesn't make a difference for me to apply this right after shower or not. I apply this prior to going out and let it absorbed into my skin first before sunscreen application
- gently massage this body oil onto the dry area, massage more if needed
- if your skin is extremely dry: apply this body oily right after shower, once absorbed, re-apply your favorite body lotion/cream
- do not forget to apply sunblock prior to going out
- store the product upright, as it could spill
Will I repurchase?
Yes!
Where to purchase and how much?
You can purchase this for a cheaper price together with Neutrogena Fine Fairness UV Compact (at half its original price) for Php939.50 (approx $20.40)

Game to try? Afraid to try?

EEEEkkk. I'm not sure if I want to try this! I'm wary of using oils becuase it just... feels gross and also the plastic bottle gets oily. UGH LOL good to know it worked for you!
ReplyDeletegirl. im telling you. this is honestly the BEST afforadable body oil you could ever find in the market! although it's an oil - it doesn't feel like one. the scent is subtle and angelic. im like 8 years too late for this reply but hahaha whatever
DeleteI swear by this stuff. the best way I found to use this is right after you shower before drying off and still wet, I drop a few drops in my hands, rub them together and smooth all over my body. then I either air dry for extra moisturizing or pat dry off. try that.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds great for my super dry legs!! But then again i don't like oils so i don't know if i'll ever try this one out!!
ReplyDeleteThis is not available here! :(
i love body oils! they are great moisturizer:) but i only use during night time... i haven't tried this brand... gotta check this! thanks for the review:)
ReplyDeleteThis has been my lifesaver when my skin broke out in dryness. :) Great review!
ReplyDeleteHmm.. I'll try this out on my legs. I hope this will work for me
ReplyDeletei have this. good product, pero hindi ko masyado type yung smell naman. :p
ReplyDelete- iya
Yes I've tried oils before and I like the feeling. The best thing to do so it won't feel oily is to apply it while still dripping wet from your shower. After applying, that's the time to towel dry. There is no oily feeling at all with this method. Just soft, smooth skin.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE oils! I even use them directly on my face hahaha. I would probably skip the Neutrogena and just use deodorized sesame oil myself. Actually, one of my favorite body moisturizers ever is the L'Occitane Grape Beauty Body Oil which I truly believe is worth spending money on. It's fantastic and smells just heavenly.
ReplyDeleteAnd you know, all your creams have oils, synthetic oil-like molecules and oil derivatives in them too - they're just emulsified with water to make the cream. =P
I swear by dry body oils in the winter!! I am using NUXE right now, but Neutrogena is fab too!
ReplyDeleteOoh I would never have thought to try body oil before but I actually like the sound of this, especially for dry legs like everyone is saying :) Great review, thank you!!!!
ReplyDeleteMm, I'm not a huge fan of body oils so I'm not sure I'd want to try this. But I'm glad it works so well for you. :) thanks for the review.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my fave body products! :P I love the smell and how it keeps my skin moisturized. The scent is not overpowering.
ReplyDeleteY, I totally know how you feel :)
ReplyDeleteCheechun, thanks for the tip! I'm sure readers to appreciate it :)
Jenn, hey hey hey! Would you know that the last photo is taken from a leg of mine? LOL
Ayn, I love using this right after shower, night time works well too!
ReplyDeleteTeeyah, glad to know this works for you too! *high five girl*!
Kai, goodluck!
Iya, really? I think the smell is fine with me, but different people have different nose!
ReplyDeleteNikkiz, so true about the no oily feel! :)
Catherine, I would never ever put this on my face! Wow ..lol I haven't thought of that and I don't plan to! hahha but glad it works for you! Though I have dry skin all over, I just can't put the thought of using oil on my face :)
JC, thanks for the feedback, glad to know you like it too
ReplyDeleteSarah, no worries, always my pleasure
Gio, no problem! :) I knew a lot of us hate oily stuffs! :)
Pammy, you've used this din? I guess I'm a bit too late :)
Oooh! I use Johnson's Baby Oil after I shower. I'm prone to really dry skin. I'm almost running out so maybe next time I'll get this! Thanks so much for the helpful review!
ReplyDeleteOh, I use Johnson's baby oil gel after I get out of the shower when I'm still dripping too. It doesn't take too long to air dry and it makes a huge difference in the softness of my skin later on in the day. I can tell a difference through the next day too! I just use it in the winter since my skin gets itchy and sensitive when the air is so dry. :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'll have to try this neutrogena one!
this is a saver especially for those who love water like me. I recommend this to all swimmers!!!
ReplyDeleteNIce review
I ALMOST bought this last week! My skin is sooo dry it's ridiculous. I might just have to try it now!
ReplyDeleteThe Muses, I have used the Johnson's Baby Oil Lite :) Both works well :)
ReplyDeleteJen, :) thanks for the comment gorgeous girl :)
DeBi, yay! Coming from a swimmer, great recommendation!
Khalia, let me know how you like this :)
ooohhh my 2nd most favorite neutrogena product! (1st being the sunblock). i swear by this product! its not greasy at all and makes my skin glow :)
ReplyDeleteI love this! I especially like its scent and how it stays on your skin. I even think my sweat smells like it. LOL. I just use it at night as it feels too greasy during daytime.
ReplyDelete- Kaith
Steph, I love their body sunblock too :) :) :)
ReplyDeleteKaith, I know, the scent is quite light, at first I was scared with the SESAME SEED OIL written in their packaging, but not bad not bad :)

i love body oils too! i've used this, i liked it too. used it too right after shower when my body is still wet, it doesn't give me super oily feel. Also i soap the bottle every after use to the bottle will not be slippery/ oily,.
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge sucker for body oils. Love, love, love them. I don't have especially dry skin, but I adore how silky they make my skin feel. Sexy, really! My favourite is the Rose Body Oil from Dr. Hauschka -- no synthetics, no petroleum by products, just quality organic essential oils. Delightful, with a soft natural rose scent. And expensive... *sigh*.

a friend introduced neutrogena body oil to me specifically for my face, but my instinct keeps telling me to try it first on my legs, i did and now i av no regrets i have actually abandoned my body cream, i will definately use this neutrogena body oil over and over again, though now am contemplating using it on my face, maybe it could help too. i must confess i have a glowing skin now . my face, but my instinct keeps telling me to try it first on my legs, i did and now i av no regrets i have actually abandoned my body cream, i will definately use this neutrogena body oil over and over again, though now am contemplating using it on my face, maybe it could help too. i must confess i have a glowing skin now .
