AMW Reviews: KATE Gel Eye Liner

First of July!  Days passed by so quickly I am surprised it's already my mom's birthday month and she will be celebrating her 64th birthday soon!!! :)

I want to thank everyone who commented telling me they liked my AMW Version and Nail Art Tutorial for the week!  I have those 2 covered so let's get back to product reviews!

Gel Liners!  Of course I will be reviewing a gel liner!  I love gel liners!  Anyone who frequents my blog knew how much of a Gel Liner user I am! I raved about the Stila Smudgepots but I don't mind trying out different brands!  Who knows?  There can always be a better brand with better performance out there!

Read on for my review on KATE Gel Liner....

KATE Gel Eye Liner says ---
Eyeliner that offers the precision of liquid liner and the ease of a gel-based formula.
Manufactured by: Kanebo

AMW says ---
  • Cute tiny glass packaging similar to that of MAC and Bobbi Brown.
  • Smooth to apply.
  • Once applied on lids, it dries up pretty fast.
  • No smudging.
  • No eye irritations.
  • True Black shade that stays for the whole day!
  • Not difficult to remove with regular eye makeup remover or cleansing oil.
  • For people with SUPER oily lids, this smudges but not as much!
  • I remember seeing this online that comes with a brush, I wonder why this one isn't packaged with a free brush!
  • You may not finish this product at once thus the remaining 1/4 will probably be dry and difficult to apply.
  • Price is not that far with the Stila Smudge Pots but the size of this is smaller.  Stila is 4g, Kate is 2.5g
The quality is good!  Though the net weight is lesser as compared to my favorite Stila, it's still ok for me as I can't seem to finish the Stila Smudge Pots without it drying up on me!

  • Wash your eyeliner brush often.
  • Twist the cap tight to prevent product from drying.
  • Use an eyelid primer if you have very oily lids.
  • Go for the Matte Black or Matte Brown shades the ones with glitters doesn't last as long as the matte version.
  • Try not to open up your eyes right after application, leave it for approximately 15 seconds.
  • With the remaining gel liner on the brush, gently apply on the lower lashline to serve as "base" if you like putting eyeshadow on the said area.
Will I repurchase?

  1. i love how black and seemingly so creamy it is from the picture. awww and it's Kate ☺♥

  2. Sounds really good! I'm still more of a liquid liner girl, but I wouldn't mind converting! :)

Hi Nikki, how are you doing? I haven't read your blog in so long!

  3. Your gel liner application is so neat! i can't seem to do it like that.

  4. wow sis! did u mean that kate is better than stila?

p/s: my mom's bd is just tomorrow! :D

  5. I have been using Maybelline gel liner and i love it too! I'll try this one out when my gel liner dries up! thanks for sharing! :)

  6. I pushed my stila aside because of this. :)) Im not sure if there's a free brush, because they sold it separately in japan.

  7. Sounds great and I love how black it looks!

  8. Thanks for the review! My fave is still the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel liners. They're very dense and easily blendable. They last, too.

  9. this super smudges for me when i use it, but that's probably because i have really oily lids.

  10. the liner looked really great on you :)

  11. I'm not a make-up fanatic, but if I do have to use make-up on a regular basis, I would be going for an eyeliner all the time. I have not tried gel liners though, but I would try this one because of your review about how good this is.

  12. I used to be a liquid liner fan but when I tried the gel liner I ditched the liquid liners already hahaha! :)

  13. Ohhh lovely. My favorite gel liner so far are the CODE B Black gel liners by Etude House. They barely budge on me and I wear contact lenses so my eyes are bound to get wet. Problem is though i think they dried up pretty fast but I like how it really is black black. XD The Maybeline Studio Gel Liner I recall was more err sheer? gray? I geuss. So yea : D

  14. @DeBi Understandable, I'm a Stila Fan still! :) That's why I save the Stila Smudgepots for clients :D

  15. @Marge Indeed, you're right, it's super creamy :D

  16. @Maggie Girl! I'm doing good! You? I'm glad to read updates from you! I am liking Liquid liner when i'm in a hurry and I don't want to grab an extra brush!

  17. @xin Wow Belated Happy birthday to your mom!!! I love how we have a lot of similarities!

Sis, Stila is still the best especially if you have SUPER oily lids!

  18. @Issa Ay, nice din ang Maybelline I think they almost have the same consistency!

  19. @Care G Ah talaga? i've seen some online websites selling the gel liner with free brush na!

  20. @gio Agree, the pigmentation is great!

  21. @Jamilla Camel Ahh of course! Bobbi Brown, puts the make-up world by storm by creating such wonderful gel liner!

  22. @Bea Yes, I'm sure this will still smudge on very very oily lids :) So what are you using now?

  23. @Obaging Just eyeliner, makes a huge difference on your overall look!

  24. @ChinaDoll What I love about Gel Liners ...well pigmentation, super dark and it lasts!

  25. @katatonik wow, that's good! I haven't tried any Etude House gel liners, I've been hoarding their eye brow pencils and mascaras! :)

  26. i like kate products! they're affordable and they deliver :)
