In my opinion, a make up artist can never have enough brushes! I may own a couple of brush sets but I do have brushes used by me and only me! Another set for clients and a whole lot of extra sets for make up gigs that requires me to prettify 5 and above clients and no time in between for me to clean my brushes!
Been there, done that and I am so thankful for extra brush sets!
Suesh 7pcs Brush Set
Suesh 7pcs Brush set says ---
(sorry no description found on site)
Once you open up the faux leather brush holder,
you see 7pcs of brushes carefully wrapped individually
(Note: Please do keep in mind that I named these brushes individually
as I do not have the exact names of it.)
Powder Brush
Pros
- Very soft even after wash.
- No shedding.
- None
- Powder foundation, setting powder, powdered blush and bronzing powder application.
- Re-touch.
- This brush can also be used as a contouring brush by pressing the brush hairs in between your fingers forming a "fan" shape and gently apply contouring powder right below the cheek bones.
Stippling Brush
Pros
- Has a nice "bounce" and "stippling" form of application is actually possible!
- 1-2 pcs of hair shed after first wash. Not much on usage.
Cons
- I personally like my stippling brush to be denser.
- Stippling liquid/cream foundation.
- Liquid/cream blush application.
Foundation brush
Pros
- Black synthetic hair which doesn't have the usual "stain" we get on lightly colored foundation brush even after washing.
- Soft to touch and feel.
- No shedding.
Cons
- Quite small in size so it'll take a bit longer time to finish the whole face for liquid/cream foundation application.
Used for
- Because of the "con" I prefer to use this as a cream/liquid concealer brush due to its size.
- Cream blush application.
Big Fluffy Brush
Pros
- No shedding
- Very soft and no scratchy feel.
- Multi-tasking brush.
Cons
- None. As you can definitely work with your face with or without this brush
Used for
- Highlighting small areas like the brow bone, nose bridge and cheekbones.
- 1 eyeshadow application on eyes with big lid space.
- Contouring the nose.
Pros
- No shedding
- Not scratchy at all!
- Has a nice density and brush is easy to control.
- For eyeshadow blending: size is too big to be used on people with small lid space!
- Blending eye shadows for people with bigger lid space.
- Contouring the nose.
- Applying correctors or concealers on specific areas like under the eyes and spots.
- Removing fall outs during eye shadow application.
Pros
- Very soft.
- No shedding.
- Can be used to apply dry or wet eye shadows.
- Made of synthetic bristles so this can be used on both dry or wet eye shadow application.
- Will not grab as much pigments as compared to flat eyeshadow brushes made from natural animal hair.
- Foiling or packing eye shadows on lids.
Pros
- No shedding.
- Unique, as not all brush sets has this particular brush.
- Will be very difficult to use by first time gel liner users.
- Hair on the tip is not as pointed as I want it to be.
- The most tricky brush to wash and take care of.
- Eyeliner application.
- Draw particular shapes or pictures on Avant Garde make up.
This is an okay set to start with if you are planning to purchase one that's housed in a good size perfect for travel. The brushes included in this set can make you easily create different makeup looks. I only wish the blending brush isn't as huge so small-lidded individuals like myself can enjoy this set fully! Oh, and I kinda missed having a lip brush inside the set! :)
Will I repurchase?
No. So far, my first ever brush set from Suesh (28pcs) is still alive and kicking! So I hope this one will last me long too!
To whom do I recommend this to?
Amateur or professionals who want to carry a smaller version of their brush set for "anytime, anywhere" touch-ups.
Where to purchase and how much?
At Suesh for Php2,400 (approx $55.80).
Speaking of girls (like me) who can never get enough of brush sets, guess what? My dear Aunt from the US came back to the Philippines for a visit last year and look what she gifted me! :)
My very own Kirkland 2011 Brush Set!!!
The brush holder looks like a gorgeous purse!
Comes with 10 deluxe brushes
10pcs you say? Where's the other 2?
The other 2 face brushes
are hidden inside this removable pouch
See? Aren't they cute?
They've been raved online and was said to be inexpensive brush set that's worth every single penny! I am glad I own this set and I don't even know if I'll be reviewing this as Costco Kirkland creates unique Holiday Brush sets once a year! This set will definitely be put to "personal" use :) Thanks Aunty Rose for this!
If you're a make up artist like me,
do you separate personal and professional brush sets?
Keep smilin'
Stay happy!

DeleteHi Nikki which would you recommend this one or the Charm Travel Pro v3? For Makeup beginner to intermediate level which id much better in your opinion Charm Travel Pro v3 Brush set or the Charm Essentials Pretty in Pink Vegan Brush Set? TIA
ReplyDeleteCharm travel Pro v3 is more complete (in my opinion).
DeleteIf you ask me between the Travel Pro v3 or the Pink Vegan Brush set, it all boils down to your choice as Vegan Brush are made of synthetic hair ALL THE WAY, if it's ok for you , then go for Vegan Brush set, as it is really good and unique, but if you are someone who like to own both natural and synthetic brushes, then Charm Travel Pro will answer your needs :D HTH
Hi. Where did you buy the Kirkland brushes?
ReplyDeleteI think my Aunt bought it at Costco :) Not sure if it's still available in the US as this was for the 2011 Christmas Edition.
