AMW Reviews: ZUCA Case

I've had tons of request to show my makeup train case for quite some time!  I haven't really gotten the chance to show it as I've always been on a lookout for "THE TRAIN CASE" that I will hold on to...forever!

Just like Marriage!  *laughs*

After loads of research and with the help of wonderful angels, I am happy to announce, I am one proud "momma" to my ZUCA SportPro!

I believe MAC made one specially for the brand but it looks exactly the same on the outside (Change Zuca to MAC) and the inserts are a bit different!

My past huge train case was finally sold to a lovely AMW reader (hi Nancy) and don't get me wrong, I love my first ever huge train case so much but as my makeup increases, they tend to topple inside so I've decided to adopt a new baby!

I bid over Ebay and crossed my fingers that I'll win it!  With God's help, I actually did and the ZUCA was sent to my Godmother's place in the US and she shipped it here!  Thanks Auntie! :)

After a couple of uses, I am ready to give my thoughts on this case.  Most of the professional makeup artists who uses this have said that this is the best investment ever and 99% of them do not regret spending almost $300.00 for this case!  I got mine around $230.00 (approx less than Php10,000) and it retails for $285.00 (approx Php12,255), not bad huh?

Zuca SportPro says ---
Developed for the seasoned road warrior, the ZÜCA Pro is a PATENTED new concept in travel that protects your valuable gear and provides a place to sit. You can also use the seat as a platform for carrying additional gear. Measuring 19" x 13" x 10" the Pro fits in the overhead compartment of standard commercial aircraft from 737's up. Easily roll down narrow aircraft aisles with an adult friendly 41 1/2" telescoping ergonomic handle. The Pro is protected by a limited LIFETIME WARRANTY, see details. With the ZÜCA Pro, you will always have the best seat in the house.

AMW says ---
Pros
  • Comes with a quilted cover to protect the case on transit or storage.
  • Can store a WHOLE LOT OF MAKEUP!
  • The size is perfect for airplane aisle.
  • I can easily "set up" the makeup area and easily store them right away!  Keeps my makeup in place and prevents lost of makeup.
  • I can sit on this case while waiting.  I can even put some tools or stuff on top of the Zuca case.
  • Very sturdy!
  • You can put the stuff you need by changing pouches base on clients' needs.
Cons
  • Once you fill the case, it is heavy!
  • You cannot put the pouches the way you like it, they have to be inserted at a certain way.
  • Locally available but very pricey! Around Php15,000 I believe?
  • Needs a "wheel stopper", I find myself looking for a "wall" for the case not to move around while I insert the pouches.
  • You need to purchase extra "storage cases" for the pouch to have "shape" and not make the products topple all over.
Overall
I do not regret spending the amount of money for this case!  Definitely worth it!

Tips
  • Always store the Zuca Case with the insert provided to protect from dust and scratch.
  • Bring the pouches with you if you plan to purchase containers.
  • I don't recommend having this shipped via regular Post Office, ask your friends or relatives to help you purchase in the US and they can use them as hand carry luggage!
  • You do not need to use up all the pouches provided, use only the amount needed depending on number of clients, in that way, you are not lugging a very heavy luggage at all times!
Will I repurchase?
No!  One is enough! :)

To whom do I recommend this to?
Professional makeup artists who are on the go and needed the space, who travels a lot and who gets tired easily (as the Zuca can double as a seat!)
Last but not the least, if you need to bring a lot of makeup, this one is definitely for you!

Where to purchase and how much?
For US Buyers, available online at ZUCA, you can check out Ebay or local resellers in your country.

Here's a photo of how I usually organize my work station
Charm Pro Brush Set can be seen!

The biggest pouch, I use to store liquid, cream and powder face products!

Another pouch for blushes and lipsticks!  I prefer my lipsticks standing up
so I put in a plastic blue container bought from SM Department store.

Another pouch where I put all my eyeshadow palettes and even brow powders.

For the smallest pouch (this pouch is inserted at the bottom part of the Zuca Case), I put random tools and face products (serums, primers, moisturizers, cleansers etc..)  This is my to-go-to case for prepping the client!

The way to insert the pouches takes a bit of trial and error!  Now that I got the hang of it, I can easily store my makeup after a gig in no time!  Clients get surprised on how I quickly pack things up!

After inserting all 5 pouches, I still have a small space on top for brush rolls!

I put my extension cord for the side pouches!
and random lashes on the other side!

I hope you enjoyed seeing the way I store my make up!
Do you need Zuca Case in your life?

Keep smilin'
Stay happy!

    1. True! the doubling up as a seat is a very important added bonus!!!! There are a lot of times where I have to be standing on a makeup gig for a whole day! The between breaks "sitting" is very helpful!
