Weekend Food Trip at: Tonkatsu by Terazawa

Happy Sunday AMW friends!  Let's talk about food (as I always do in person!  lol).  Thanks to dearest ahya/achie for inviting us at Tonkatsu by Terazawa, it's rainy day but I'm glad to experience good food with the "loves" of my life!

Tonkatsu by Terazawa

I have tried Tonkatsu in Japan and some restaurants here in Manila who serves similar Tonkatsu dishes so I'm excited to give this a try, Tonkatsu by Terazawa is part of Bistro Group and so far, I always have good experience dining at Bistro Group restaurants.

Just like restaurants in Japan, you have a display of "fake" food that looks so real you want to grab and eat them!

The clean kitchen.

The restaurant has a modern Japanese-feel, the restaurant isn't big nor small, just right!  But that night, the place was packed so we've decided to dine outside!  Thankfully, not much smokers were there which is good for Baby Kyle!

How to enjoy Tonkatsu?  When you have unlimited cabbage, rice and miso soup with sauce mixed with sesame seed!

French Fries
Php125.00 (approx $2.90)
I love the fries!  Reminds me of my favorite Belgian Fries with nori spice!  I love dipping this on their Japanese mayo based sauce (I think)

Homemade Katsu Curry Set
Php375.00 (approx $8.90)
Very tender pork loin deep fried to it's most crunchy state.  I'm glad the curry sauce was served on the side so I can dip my pork pieces with as much curry sauce I want!

Deluxe Katsu Set
Php545.00 (approx $12.98)
This set comes with deep fried prawn, pork loin and pork fillet.  I love that they all look alike on the exterior but gives a burst of different taste on each bite!  My favorite is the super tender pork loin!

Jumbo Prawn Set
2pcs for Php775.00 (approx $18.45)

Oyster Set
Php395.00 (approx $9.40)
5 pcs of deep fried oyster!  I'm seriously not an oyster dish lover but I actually enjoyed this!

Prawn and Hire Katsu Set
Php490.00 (approx $11.67)
Deep fried prawn with pork fillet

Overall, I had a wonderful experience dining at Tonkatsu by Terazawa.  I had a chance to chat with Bistro Group's award-winning chef, Chef Josh Boutwood!  He is very down-to-earth with his talent and he's a man with huge passion for food!  I can literally see his eyes lit up when we talk about food! I asked him what he will recommend for a first time Tonkatsu by Terazawa visitor, he immediately exclaimed: "Rosu Katsu!"  He's a fan of pork with a tiny bit of fat that melts in his mouth!

And the experience is more wonderful with my 1.5 dates!  Mr. AMW and Baby AMW!

Check out the Tonkatsu Menu, I love that they have a lot of dishes to choose from!

Tonkatsu by Terazawa is located at Greenbelt 2, Makati.
