AMW Reviews: Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation

Happy Monday AMW friends!
How was your weekend?  I was sick over the weekend!  It was unusual for me to have cough and cold but my body finally caved in to germs!  It was really difficult as I'm a nursing mom so I didn't take any medication at all fearing some of the medicine may pass to my baby through breast milk!  But don't worry, I'm taking precautions and trying my best not to spread the virus!  :)

Last year (as if it was ages ago..lol) I received Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation and Pressed Powder and it took me a while to use it before I can clearly share my review!

The name itself "Nearly Naked" is something WE all wanted for a makeup!  Here's my review on the foundation, the pressed powder will be up soon!

Shade: Nude

Revlon says ---

Revlon's breakthrough nearly naked makeup balances skin and makeup so they work in perfect harmony.  With buildable coverage and seamless blending, you are sure to cover flaws and perfect your skin's tone and texture.  No heavy cakey or greasy mess.

Available in 16 true to tone shades.

AMW says ---
Pros

  • Lightweight feel.
  • Gives natural coverage.
  • Gives a natural glow.
  • Face looks radiant after application.
Cons

  • Packaging.  For a runny-textured foundation, a huge mouth isn't feasible, you tend to pour out more product than needed.
  • Scent.  Just like Revlon PhotoReady.  Doesn't bother me as much though as it disappears after a couple of minutes.
  • Coverage: Not enough for users who have acne or dark undereye circles.
  • Low oil-control so oily skinned users may need to set with an oil-control powder.
Neutral
  • light to medium coverage
  • Contains SPF and titanium dioxide so may create white cast especially if you picked a shade lighter than your natural skin tone.

Tips
from Revlon
  • Apply to cleansed skin.
  • Using your fingertips or applicator, blend foundation onto skin, starting in the center of your face, forehead, nose and chin blending outward.
from AMW
  • Best applied with sponge for medium coverage.
  • For light, natural coverage, use a stippling brush in application.
  • Normal, combination and oily-skinned users need to set this with an oil-control powder of choice.
  • Very dry skinned users may need to moisturize prior to foundation application as the Revlon Nearly Naked Liquid Foundation has powder finish so may enhance skin dryness.
  • For a dewy/natural look, set with powder only on areas that tends to oil up and leave the rest.
  • Use concealer before or after Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation application on key areas.
Will I repurchase?
No.

To whom do I recommend this to?
Users with good skin who likes to use lightweight foundation for daily use.

Where to purchase and how much?
At local Revlon counters for about Php525.00 (approx $12.20) .

Photos

Before and after
It wasn't a bad skin day for me when I took the before shot, I do have under eye darkness and a few bumps and redness on my cheeks, as seen on the after photo, after 2 application, Revlon Nearly Naked Liquid Foundation did not completely conceal my under eye darkness.  The foundation helped even out my skin giving me a more "even" skin tone but I still need a concealer to help cover up random spots.

For a clearer view, here is a half-face photo, left side facing you is my Revlon face while the right side facing you is my bare face.  As you can see there is not much difference on the left and right side.  Revlon Nearly Naked Liquid Foundation lightened up my undereye darkness a bit and made my skin looks bright and even.  It is definitely one liquid foundation that looks like your skin.  Keep in mind that this product has light to medium coverage so if you are looking for heavier coverage foundation, this is not for you.  Photoready is still my best bet!

  1. Great review Ms. Nikki! Considering the weather in Manila, I think I'd pass up on this one. Revlon foundations are indeed a hit or miss, at least for me, although I did like their colorstay foundie. However, despite its amazing coverage, I still found it too heavy & just too much for everyday use.

Anyway.. Speaking of foundations.. You probably get this a lot but what full coverage foundation do you swear by and recommend to people? I'm currently in the lookout for my HG foundation kasi eh and I'm so tired of searching na. Hehe! Hope you can help me out on this one! xx

    1. I know what you mean about our weather! But we are still lucky here, whatever makeup that holds up to our weather, didn't work well when I visited Singapore, Singapore is way more humid!!!

Full Coverage foundation? Well for our weather, it works to use the Graftobian, Ben Nye, Kryolan cream foundation! I use them mostly on my clients! :D They have full on heavy coverage but not the heavy feel.
