Hi Fellow Moms and non-moms with very sensitive skin!
Today, I will be reviewing a brand I never heard off until this was sent to me as referred by a makeup client! Upon receiving Grandma El's, I did my own research right away! Grandma El's was formulated in the early 1972 by Robert Posner, a renowned skin care specialist and cosmetic chemist and it has been used over a decade in nursing homes and hospitals!
Yes, this product is organic and safe for babies, but how safe are they when it comes to my baby and my very own SUPER sensitive skin?
I've used Grandma El's products on both Baby AMW and myself and I will be sharing my initial thoughts on these....
Grandma El's Tear-Free Gentle Baby Wash

This wonderful
Tear-Free Gentle Baby Wash is mild, gentle, natural and most
importantly, safe for your baby’s skin. The neutral pH and addition of
natural Aloe Vera, Japanese Green Tea, and Cucumber Extracts add a
cooling, soothing, healing, anti-oxidant and skin nutrient activity
which directly benefits baby’s sensitive skin. This gentle cleanser
formulation is non-allergenic and non-irritating and will safely make
your baby’s skin clean, fresh, and cuddly soft, naturally!

AMW says ---
I have used this so many times when I bathe Baby AMW! What I love about this wash is that it is very gentle on my baby's skin at the same time, it lathers pretty quickly and can be washed easily by water. After a month's usage, my baby's skin has this smooth, "bouncy" texture. It helps that the product smells so good I can't stop giving kisses to Kyle!
Grandma El's Diaper Rash Remedy + Prevention
2oz Php465.00
2oz Php465.00
This product is
Zinc Oxide free and very mild to the babies’ skin. Most diaper cream’s active
ingredient is zinc oxide which some babies are allergic and instead of helping
cure the rashes it worsens it at times.
Since it is a chemical it is not also advisable to babies to consume
this kind of product. As we all know with babies, accidents do happen and
sometimes they put in their mouths whatever they get their hands to. This
product is safe for CLOTH DIAPERING also, since more and more moms are
realizing the benefits of cloth diapers. As you will see on the packaging
Grandma El’s ingredients are short and you can actually understand what they
put in their products. As a general rule, if you can’t read nor understand
what’s on the ingredients list, then why put it on our bodies?

One thing I am very thankful for Baby AMW is that he didn't get diaper rashes at all since birth! I guess it is our constant wash and change of diapers that helps or maybe..I am just a lucky mom! What I do is I actually use this on my "cracked heels" and dry patches from my skin and it does not only help relieve itch and pain but it actually helps reduce the look of dryness of my skin!
Grandma El's Gentle Baby Body Lotion

Grandma El’s Gentle

sensitive skin with the natural botanicals Chamomile and Calendula. The

skin, keeping it smooth and healthy. It is enriched with Vitamin E,
Aloe Vera, Shea butter, and Avocado oil. Grandma El’s does not contain
any harsh ingredients and is pediatrician and dermatologist

Again, I do not put lotion on Baby AMW's skin as of the moment but I'm keeping this on hand especially when we traveled to the US where the weather is cooler and dry, I applied a little amount of this all over Kyle's body and so far, it is non-greasy and Kyle's skin did not react negatively on the product! I actually came back and prefer to use this on myself as I try to use organic and safe-for-baby products on myself since I tend to be around Kyle most of the time! The product is lightweight and gets absorbed into the skin easily leaving fresh scent (like a baby).
Overall, I actually enjoyed using Grandma El's products and I will highly recommend this to my friends who have very sensitive skin or friends who wants to use organic products for their babies!

DeleteOooh, interesting! I'm looking for a baby care line back up just in case my own baby develops allergies to what I've chosen, which is Human Nature, a local organic brand. I like Human Nature, and I hope against hope that my baby does too, but this looks like a pretty good alternative :) Thanks so much for posting this!
ReplyDeleteOh, have you tried Human Nature's products, by the way? They're really good!
