The Body Shop Geisha Doll Lip & Cheek Tint Review

I received this cute gift last Christmas from The Body Shop and I can't wait to share to you what it is because it is too cute to ignore!

The Body Shop Special Edition Geisha Doll Lip & Cheek Stain!

Packaged in a "must display on dresser" packaging, I knew I had to try this ASAP so I can share to you my feedback if this product is worth beyond the cute packaging!

Pros
  • Applicator is really easy to use.
  • The effect is not as "harsh" as compared to the original formulation.  No matter how much you apply, the result is really natural.
  • Does not wear off mid-day.  So for my skin type (normal/dry), retouching is NOT needed.
  • The result is a soft, romantic flush.
  • Has a nice, subtle scent.
  • Can be layered for heavier pigmentation.

Cons
  • Special edition, so I don't think you'll see this forever in stores!
  • Applicator.  If you use it both on cheeks and lips, it may spoil easily.
  • You have to work quickly or you'll leave a faint "mark" of the outline of the stain.
  • If applied as stain on lips, it will be drying for users with extremely dry lips!
    Neutral
    • Packaging.  As much as the cute packaging is a PRO for me, it may be a bit bulky to bring if you want to go for retouch as opposed to the original packaging of TBS Lip & Cheek Stain.
    Overall
An easy-to-blend stain that gives a very natural, doll-like effect.  This can be used on both cheeks and lips!

    Tips

    • For first-time "stain" wearers, apply using a foundation brush or stippling brush for a very natural result.
    • Another way to apply is to grab some of the product at the back of your hand, blend with your clean finger and gently tap finger on the apples of your cheeks.
    • If you can work quickly during application, feel free to apply 2-3 dots on the apples of your cheeks and blend out with fingers.
    • Best used on top of liquid/cream foundation or BB cream.
    • Try not to use this stain on top of a "powdered" face as the stain will not blend as smoothly.
    • Applied too much?  Lessen the pigmentation by applying a powder foundation on top.
    • Feel free to "set" the stain with a translucent powder or a powder blush
    •  Used on lips, you can leave it that way for a nice "stain" OR, this can be used as a nice base to keep your lipstick stay longer.
    • Never use the applicator on both cheeks and lips, best to use this on cheeks and a separate lip brush or Q-tip on lips.

    Will I repurchase?
No, I have too many stains to date and I can't seem to finish them up!

To whom do I recommend this to?
All skin types!  This is a great start-up stain even for younger girls!

Where to purchase and how much?
Priced at Php995.00 (approx $22.60) available at all The Body Shop stores nationwide.  I'm not sure if they are still available at present, let me know if you find them still and include the branch that you saw this Geisha Doll for readers who plan to buy!  TIA

    Cute packaging.  So Kawaii!

    Doe-foot applicator

    Swatch on Hand
It has some gold glitters that won't look obvious once applied.

How to Apply The Body Shop Geisha Doll Lip & Cheek Tint
If you can work fast, instead of the usual "dots", I like to apply using short marks as shown on photo below and blend immediately!

    On Cheeks

I seldom use stains on lips but for the sake of review, I actuallyl liked how it looks "red" but not too bold!

    Before and After

Take note that my lips are extremely dry and pigmented!
So it does not look as red as it should because my lips are already deep red to start with.

The Body Shop Geisha Doll Lip & Cheek Tint on both cheeks and lips!
I seriously wish The Body Shop will come up with more shades!

    What's your favorite stain?
Will you purchase this even if you own the original Lip & Cheek Stain?

    Keep smilin'
    Stay happy!
