Found My Favorite Pink Blush!

And it's from Lancome Blush Subtil!
If you are a regular reader of my blog, I've always mentioned how I'm leaning towards to Peach, Coral and Bronzer-type of blush to "warm my skin" just because pink blushes make me look like a "trying hard teenager"?

Yeah, you probably forgot about the "pink blush" topic but remembered the trying hard teenager!  *laughs*  I once created a makeup look on that!  BUT...before my trail of thoughts get lost...let's get back to the first pink blush I really wear on a daily basis even on a no-makeup makeup look!

She's the one!
Rose Romantique

All thanks to my aunt who sends me samples of these because these samples help me a lot for my future "full-size" purchases!  And this blush sample from Lancome earns 2 thumbs up from me because you get good enough amount to test for at least a month!  Total of 0.07 oz (1.98g) of blush goodness!

Blush Subtil line is a line of silky powder blush that is oil-free and oil-absorbing at the same time!  As opposed to oil-free product keeping my dry skin even drier, this powder contains moisture-balancing ingredients thus my skin doesn't look powdery, dry or flaky at all!  I can apply 2-3 or more layers of this and the effect is extremely natural!

Swatch of Rose Romantique
Okay, I cheated a bit!  But trust me, this cheating will bring you to many places!!!  If you can't seem to make a pink blush work for your skin tone, pick a pink blush with a coral or peach undertone thus making it "warmer" than the usual cool-toned pink blushes available in the market.

But of course, if you are fair like me but has a cool undertone, you can definitely wear those blue-based pink blushes that I'm allergic to!

Rose Romantique is a soft coral pink shade that finishes off matte but has tiny speckles of "gold" that is almost invisible upon application but this gold sheen gives "warmth" to the cheeks thus making this work on me!

Pigmentation is really good, one swipe you get a natural hint of pinkish coral shade on your cheeks, adding another layer gives an instant "oomph" to your overall look even without much makeup on.

Before and After
I applied 2 layers of Rose Romantique starting from the apples of my cheeks towards the hairline.

Can you see the nice golden sheen? It gives an instant highlight on the apples of my cheeks even without adding any highlighting powder.

Now, can you understand why I dedicated a special post for this blush?  I have been using this blush nonstop since I got it!  Thanks Auntie!

Lancome Blush Subtil is available in Lancome counters nationwide.  Full size is priced around Php2,000+ .  They have wide array of blush shades available that suits your skin tone.

How do you find my new favorite pink blush?
Do you think Rose Romantique shade will work for you?

  2. My love for blushes started with Lancome Blush Subtil in Cedar Rose but I'm not sure if that is still available. Based on your pics though, this seems like a good alternative! And based on how you described it, glad to know they seem to haven't changed the formula. :)

  3. I have Blush subtil in sheer amourose and I've been using it for years, yeah I know that's too long to keep a makeup but I love it and I haven't hit the pan yet, and no issues with breakouts though it's been with me for so long. Do you know of local online stores that sell this cheap. Thanks
