How To: Apply Stick Concealer Without Looking Dry

Everyone's scared to use stick concealers for the undereye area.  I can relate, because I'm part of that crowd!  But because stick concealers are so easy to use, I knew I had to do something about it!  I mean, I have to test it in so many ways and finally found the best way to use it!  Of course, there are so many other ways too!  Feel free to comment below if you have more tips!  As you all know, AskMeWhats is definitely a venue to share your tips, tricks and very important "finds".  We girls with undereye darkness should unite!  To conquer the Eyebags world! :P

How to Apply Stick Concealer without looking dry

Product used for this tutorial, my newest stick concealer from Etude House called Surprise Stick Concealer in Natural Beige.

When it comes to covering the undereye area, I prefer to purchase concealers that has a warm tone like orange and peach to correct the bluish tint under the eye.

Now, the tutorial starts here!  To prevent stick concealers from enhancing the dry lines around your eye area, Warm the tip of the concealer as shown on photo below at the back of your hand several times until the concealer is warm and smoother in texture.

Wait There's More!

Make sure you already applied your favorite hydrating eye cream and leave it for at least a minute or 2 before you apply any makeup on top!

Since the tip of your cream concealer is warm and has a smoother texture, the concealer will glide on easily!  This is perfect because cream concealers are usually thicker by nature as opposed to stick concealers so the effect is more natural and the feel is more lightweight.

Instead of using your fingers to "Drag" the concealer, I prefer to use a concealer brush and blend out harsh edges!  If you find the concealer getting into fine lines and wrinkles, fret not!  Re-apply your eye cream and concealer.

And of course, your stick concealers can also be used on other areas around your face.  Repeating the step of warming the "tip" of your concealer stick, apply directly to key areas like spots, zits, acne marks, freckles and redness around the nose.

TADAH!
Check out how the obvious line under the eye area wasn't even enhanced!  Whenever I apply stick concealer without the "warming process", most of the time, the effect would be "dry" and fake.
