"Orange" You Glad It's Summer Time?

Not Really. 

But I'm glad it's my birthday soon!

Just a few more days and I'm turning a year older!  I don't feel any day older though, I guess I am surrounded by fun and young people I get all the youthful energy!  And let's not forget, I like cute, pretty stuff that makes me happy every single day!

Today, I am wearing a lip color I absolutely dislike *laughs*  But that's just me, Orange lipstick really isn't my thing but this lipstick that I got from NYX Cosmetics called NYX Full Throttle is a type of lipstick worth checking out!  I don't know how this got into my kit (I mean, THIS COLOR in particular) but who am I to judge?  This color is particularly LOVELY on photo!  A bit shocking neon orange in person but really beautiful on photos!

 We've all known and grew up to love the NYX Round lipsticks and this is housed in a slimmer lipstick bullet packaging.  I actually love the fact that I can see the shade right away because the shade names are a bit too small for me to read on a daily basis.

These lipsticks are called waterproof so I am thinking maybe this is more of a long-wearing, non-smudging type of lipstick...or maybe, this is a type of lipstick I can use when I have clients who plan to shoot underwater (which is the fad right now by the way for prenup photoshoot)

  
There are a total of 12 shades in the US, I can't confirm how many shades there are locally but I'm definitely checking out other shades.



Let's talk about the shape of the lipstick that makes this extra unique.

They are cut in a "bullet" shape and I actually like how the edges are perfect in creating distinct lines on your lips!  No need for separate lipliner if you ask me as this shape works perfectly.

Swatch: Shade 09 JOLT

Jolt is a vibrant coral red shade that screams HELLO SUMMER, HELLO SUN!  This looks pretty neon orange for me on tube and on swatch but it actually tones down a bit as my lips are highly pigmented.  I was surprised how "Coral" it looks on my lips which makes it more forgiving for me to wear!

Let's talk about formulation, as chalky as it looks on tube, I like how it slides easily on my lips without much tugging.  The texture is smooth and goes on thinly.  The lipstick appears and feels matte on lips and it does not flake or create crusty lips even several hours after.

They are not extremely moisturizing but thankfully, doesn't make my lips feel tight or dry!  I like how it looks on photos better than in person but I am definitely checking the other shades out because the formulation and longevity is a winner for me!
