Birthday Food Trip at: Nono's Comfort Food, Podium

I told you so many times that February is my favorite month because ---
1. Cool weather
2. Valentine's Day
3. Chinese New Year - most of the time, my brother would come home for family reunion.
4. My Birthday!

Well, the last part, I'm not that excited anymore, who's excited growing older?

But, what excites me is the fact that I get to celebrate so many times!  With friends, with both families (mine and Mr. AMW) and just US (the AMW Fam!)

My language of love will always be bonding over food (that explains why I'm not losing weight!)  And February definitely is a month of CELEBRATION!  (Can we play that song over here?)

Every year, we bond over Staycation in a hotel and I've decided to celebrate my birthday early while my brother is here!  A complete family definitely calls for a celebration and since we stayed at Discovery Suites, Ortigas, I chose a restaurant located in Podium called Nono's Comfort Food.

The place was packed because there were only a few restaurant choices at Podium.  I wanted a place that is comfortable enough for big groups + for my dad who is in a wheelchair.

Nono's Homestyle Fried Chicken (Big Plate)
Php565.00
Two pieces of crispy boneless chicken fillet with country style gravy
and honey served with dinner roll, corn on a cub and fries OR rice.

This dish reminded me so much of my favorite KETTLE Chicken.  It does taste close to it but I chose Kettle any day!  The chicken breast is tender and juicy while the skin is extremely crispy!  I'd say this is a nice dish especially if you have kids with you!  Kyle can't stop asking for more!

This dish I didn't get to remember the name but it comes from a separate menu -- Specials.
Dory fish served with Cherry Tomatoes and Capers, I love the addition of sundried tomatoes but I was told this dish is just so-so, nothing extremely special!

Grilled Pork Chops (Big Plate)
Php695.00
Two pieces of 1” thick juicy grilled boneless pork chops topped
with lemon herbed butter, served with mashed potatoes.

If you're not a fan of thick meat, definitely do not order this!  The slices are thick and it will take a bit more time to chew this.  It wasn't as flavorful so it is better to request for gravy or sauce to go with this dish as it can be drying.

Pork Belly Balsamic Adobo
Php425.00
Tender slices of pork belly marinated in balsamic vinegar, served with adobo rice

If you are a fan of Adobo and you wanted something with a bit of twist, go for this dish!  The pork is extremely tender due to fat and the adobo flavor goals IN the meat!  Very juicy and yummy.

Roasted Beef Belly (USDA)
Php495.00
Three slices of slow roasted USDA beef belly, drizzled with balsamic glaze, served with horseradish cream, and mashed potatoes

Another dish worth trying for Beef lovers out there!  Soft, tender beef that melts in your mouth on every bite.

My family!

I personally thing Nono's Comfort Food is really a good place for friends and family bonding BUT be ready to shell out a bit more for dishes that are just "regular".  In my humble opinion, I can get the same dishes I ordered at a lower price, but I understand you pay extra for ambiance and quality of food.  There will be additional service charge included in bill!

Will I go back to this place?  Maybe, to try out other dish or maybe if I'm looking for a nice place just the chill in the area.

Thankfully, the servers are friendly and I got good service so far.

What other restaurants located at Podium should I try next?
