Keyword: Subtle Contouring with Clinique

"How can you possibly contour on a daily basis?"
It is possible if you contour the way I do.  No fake-tans, no bronzers, no dirty lines.
Just clean, fresh, natural-looking highlights and contours on specific areas of my face.  That's the AMW style of contouring on a daily basis!

The key to successful natural-looking contour?  Using the right product.  I found it recently through Clinique Sculptionary Cheek Contouring Palette in Defining Nectars (Php2,100.00).

"Versatile cheek sculpting compact with natural-looking shades that blend and build beautifully. Use each separately to colour, contour, highlight. Or swirl them together for a quick easy glow. Use mid-toned shade as a blush, deep-toned shade to contour, lightest shade to highlight. For a quick, easy glow swirl brush over entire palette and dust over apples of cheeks. Long-wearing, oil-free. "

Swatch: Defining Nectars
Soft peach pink shimmer powder.
The lightest can be used for highlighting, the middle and darkest shade can be used as blush.  I prefer to mix all three together as it gives warmth on my face creating natural cast or shadow.

Like I said earlier, since I'm always in a rush, I prefer to mix all 3 shades together and apply starting from the apples of my cheeks going towards the hairline.  I build intensity depending on the preferred look but the best for me is around 2-3 layers for the product to show up on photos.

The powder is smooth, easy to work with and it stays for hours!  Again, they look extremely subtle and seems like you are not wearing anything at all, but under natural sunlight, I love how my cheeks glows like no other!  It looks healthy and I always get compliments on how fresh my skin looks whenever I wear this powder.

Before and After

I know it is shocking to see a non-brown shade to be used as contour but this product works  nonetheless!  My face looks healthier and more defined.  I guess it's the fact that it makes my cheeks glow and POP on certain areas, the product creates a natural dimension that works really well!

If you are a type of blush person who loves to see your blush color, this product may not work for you as Clinique has always been making cosmetics leaning on the subtle and natural-looking side.  Defining Nectars shade would work for ALL skin types and users with fair to even dark complexion!  The only thing you need to do is layer-up as needed.

Overall, I am very impressed with this product.  It looks boring on pan at first but it gives wonders upon application.

How do you like subtle contouring?
Do you prefer the subtle version or the heavier contours?
