Neutrogena Fine Fairness Light Mask Review

What's this nifty gadget that I'm recently using?

It's called the Neutrogena Fine Fairness Light Mask (Php4,200.00)  and I felt really "cool" whenever I use it!  I felt like I have my own facial center right at home!  But what is this gadget and what can it do for your skin?

I've had this product for a couple of months now but I only got the chance to review this after several usage!  

Now, to really have the complete experience, you need to try this with the Cleanser, Toner, Serum, Gel Cream and Overnight Cream.  I have to admit, I didn't change any of my skincare products because if I plan to, it will probably take you another year to finally see this post!  My skin is a bit sensitive in terms of changing skincare products.  So for the sake of review, and to know if this product (the Light mask) really works, I used this just as is, without the aid of the rest of the Fine Fairness range.  I'm sure you can find reviews on other bloggers who've tried this mask together with the product range.!

The product uses light therapy which some facial salons use!  The light is said to penetrate the skin to enhance skin tone and texture with dual lights - red light and infrared light which you can find in this mask.

The mask is quite firm and sturdy, it is made of plastic and I actually like the color.  

I used to see this on social media on faces of the users and wonder how it will be attached to the face.  What a lovely surprise that this actually comes with a "sunglass" type of eyelet.  It actually fits comfortably on my face without issues.

The product comes with an Activator which is battery operated.  The Activator lasts for 30 treatments -- I didn't know that! I was trying out the mask several times turning it on and off!  I lost 2-3 treatments from testing this unit.

Moral Lesson: Read instructions carefully!

Each session consists of 10 minutes session.  You don't have to worry about timer as it will automatically turn off after 10 minutes!  I suggest you get ready and play good music so you won't get bored doing nothing for the next 10 minutes.  Some like dozing off, I was quite aware with what's happening (and a bit paranoid especially on first usage) I was wide awake counting the minutes.

What to do after 30 sessions?  You need to buy a new Activator (sold separately) and continue to use your mask with new Activator.

The number of screen means the number of sessions you have left.

Now that it fits perfectly your face, relax and turn on the device and relax.

What to expect on first try:

• The red light is a bit strong, I even had to squint a bit even with eyes closed.  
• It is much better to close your eyes just for safety.  But on several usage, I actually can open my eyes and the light does not hurt my eyes at all because the eyelet is actually doing its' job.
• There's no pain.  It felt a bit warm at first but again, you'll get used to it after the first session.
• Since this is a light therapy, my skin does not have any issues or allergic reactions on certain ingredients or chemicals.  Since I used my regular skincare products.  I find this to be a nice alternative for users who have sensitive skin and wanted to do facial!  (Have to check with your derma if you have extremely sensitive skin!)
• I don't see any change on first 3 usage.  I started seeing some brightening and evenness of my skin after 5th usage.
• It is best to follow up with your serums or night creams after using such product to protect the skin.
• Also, don't forget to follow up with sunscreen with higher SPF since you're treating your skin, it is best to protect it from the harmful rays of the sun!

Keep in mind that the gadget is meant to be used once a day!  I started using this once every other day and slowly increasing on the times of usage because I don't want to shock my skin.  I want to give it a bit of time to get used to using new product/gadget.

Overall, I will keep on using this and see if there will be other positive results.  For now, I just like the extra boost of light energy, I like the effect of brighter-looking skin!
