Since Make Up For Ever came up with their Ultra HD foundation, I've used it a lot of times on both myself and clients! But there's one foundation from the brand that has been calling my name for attention --- the Water Blend.
Why Water Blend? Because Scuba Diving and Underwater Shoots are the "in" thing nowadays! I've had queries about underwater shoots so many times I knew I had to pack a "waterproof" makeup kit sooner or later!
Since the Water Blend foundation was highly recommended by my make up artist friends, I picked one up and gave it a test so many times! I've took a shower with this, I've washed my face with this, but the ultimate test day came when I did an underwater shoot with the Scuba Studio Team for an underwater shoot.
Make UP For Ever Water Blend
Php2,700.00
Available in all Make Up For Ever stores nationwide or ONLINE
I picked my shade Y225 and here's the swatch.
As for application, I prefer to apply using my fingers first and gently blend out with a foundation brush. The foundation is water-based so it gets absorbed easily to the sponge if you use such tool.
Before and After
AMW says ---
- Water Blend foundation has a texture of a water.
- Gives off an even skintone with glowing effect.
- Coverage is light, so you really need a separate concealer and need to layer this foundation more than usual.
- Can be used on both face and body.
- Indeed waterproof, even under waterproof! This foundation did not cake or crease even used on chlorine water (pool!)
- Problematic skin may have a hard time using this as coverage really is super light! Best to use a separate concealer.
Half Face Test
Here's the underwater shoot I recently did with the Scuba Studio Team . The Model was in red bathing suit! She has done so many layouts and her whole makeup was still intact.
Let me know if you want me to share my underwater makeup looks tips and tricks! As for the foundation, it is indeed my best investment and purchase because I can use this on both Personal and Professional level!
