dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop Vitamin C Serum Review

Dear AMW Friends and Dear Klairs *lol*
What's good in putting Vitamin C on your skin?

Well, Vitamin C - in it's pure form is an effective ingredient to lighten/brighten areas applied.  The only problem is that (just like Ascorbic Acid tablets if you noticed), they have short shelf life so it turns yellow or worst brown after several days under sun and oxygen exposure.  That said, how can we use Vitamin C effectively in our beauty regimen?

I've found a product from dear Klairs called dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop Vitamin C Serum , one of the main ingredient is Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) but with constant research and packaging, dear Klairs were able to give us Vitamin C drops with longer shelf life.

Now, keep in mind that I have dry/sensitive and just weird skin!  I cannot imagine putting Vitamin C on my skin as I can imagine immediately redness, itchiness or worst - burning sensation.  That was my expectation when I did a patch test.

With constant research, I've found out that dear Klairs only put 5% of Vitamin C making it a safe amount to use even for users with sensitive skin.  But of course, I keep caution by adding moisturizer immediately after use and use sunblock more than ever!

dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop Vitamin C Serum is housed in a clear bottle with dropper which I love!  Very easy to use but I realized that since it has Vitamin C as main ingredient, it is best to store in dim areas not directly to sun.  I actually like putting this in the fridge instead to prolong shelf life.

AMW says ---

Pros
  • Packaging.
  • The texture of the product is just like light baby oil, gets absorbed into skin quickly.
  • Non-greasy.
  • Skin looks brighter the day after use.
  • Can lighten up certain pimple marks.
  • Can lighten up sun spots with constant use.
  • Can be mixed with your favorite serums/moisturizer.

Cons

  • Has a warm sensation upon application which may bother you at first.
  • Cannot go under the sun for a long time if you are under Vitamin C treatment.
  • Cannot mix together with your other skincare treatments with AHA or other harsh ingredients.

Overall
A great addition to help lighten up marks and scars faster than usual.

Tips
from dear Klairs
  • Apply to a clean face after cleansing and toner.
  • Can apply as spot treatment or apply all over the face and neck.
  • Finish off with moisturizer. For sensitive skin types, can add a drop and mix with moisturizer before application.
  • Because even top-of-the-line vitamin C products can degrade from sun exposure, make sure you keep yours away from sunlight to preserve the formula.
from AMW
  • Put it in fridge to prolong shelf life.
  • If you have sensitive skin, use it at nighttime.
  • Do a patch test before use.
  • Do not combine with other harsh treatments like peeling treatments.
  • Use sunblock with higher SPF protection.
  • Store in cool/dry place.
  • Combine with your favorite moisturizer if you have dry skin.
  • 2-3 drops are enough for the whole face and always follow up with moisturizer no matter what your skin type is.
  • Do not apply close to the eye area.

Even the dropper is clear so you'll get a nice view on how much product you get.

On days I apply a small amount all over my face, but most of the time, I like to "spot treat".  I apply a nice concentration on pimple marks and spots and it helps lighten up the scars in weeks or so.

Overall, this is a nice product to add up on your current skincare regimen, but I personally think I don't need to use it as often.  I only like to add a drop or 2 on my current moisturizer just to add up Vitamin C to brighten up my skin making it glow.

Have you tried other dear Klairs products?
Do you have other recommendations for me to try and test?

  1. My first hesitation in this serum is the packaging wish they have put it in dark bottles.
