Pink Cheeks and Lips without Looking Pale? Here's my How-tos!

If you know me well, you'll know that my least favorite blush color is Pink because I always say it looks unnatural on me especially for girls like me who has weird complexion - fair to look at but really warm on the inside (physically and emotionally *Laughs*)

Seriously, I never pick a pink blush nowadays because I always go for Peach, Orange and my favorite Bronzer-type of blush.  They warms up my face like no other making me look fresh-looking.

But for a Beauty Blogger like myself who welcomes change, I pretty much can play around and work my hands on the products that seems to be an "X" to me.  Yes an X can be a CHECK (except on EX).  Okay seriously, I have to stop this!  I'm high on coffee and you can sense that I'm sure.

So here's my take on Pink Cheeks and Lips without making me look sick (and mind you, I didn't have to adjust on eye makeup, I an actually wear this combo ALONE!)

Blush on focus: Maybelline Fit Me! Blush in ROSE

I picked this rosy shade, though pink, it has a slight peach shimmer which warms up the skin in the most subtle way!  This is a type of pink blush both cool and warm tone individuals can actually wear!

Now on to application, as much as we love to go straight in applying on the apples of the cheeks, pink blush tends to look unnatural on those with warm undertone.  Instead, I like to apply starting from hairline going towards to the apples of the cheeks making this a great "contour blush" shade too!

Yes, it is weird to start with but with practice, you'll get used to these types of application.

For better view, here's how I apply this blush.

Before and After

Now on to the pink lipstick at this stage, as much as you are excited to grab the hottest pink lipstick you own just to brighten up your look since you aren't sporting eye makeup - STOP, CHILL and listen to me!

Listen or READ and you MUST READ well ---
If you are fair skinned - a true baby pink shade would work well.  Bright pink is okay but make sure it isn't the neon kind.

If you are medium skinned - pick a pink lipstick that leans toward a brown and caramel tone.  Let's say it doesn't have to be extremely brown (it won't look pink then) but try the nude shade that has a hint of warmth to it.  You'll know because once you applied on your lips you don't look sick.  Now if you want a bright pink lips alternative, pick a pinkish red!

If you are dark skinned - bright colors can be used like the famous MAC Pink Nouveau!  Fuchsia and magenta will also work well for you.'

If you want specific recommendation one of the most flattering pink lipstick I've used and repurchased so many times is MAC PLEASE ME.  The texture is also soft and smooth making this my favorite Bridal lips too!

Fix your brows and conceal some dark undereye circles and spots and redness, you're good to go!

  1. It is kind of weird that before this post I apply pink blush near hairline because I think it is much more flattering on me but I think it make sense now that you say it. I wonder why purplish blush works fine with me I am medium skinned with warm undertone.
