The Body Shop Lash Sport Waterproof Mascara Review

I gave up overall on mascaras, I gave up on lashes, except latter part of 2018 when I was starting to use Castor Oil for my lashes - I was hoping there is a "silver lining"- as what our Ms. Universe Catriona Gray would say.

Today, I am reviewing The Body Shop's Lash Sport Waterproof Mascara, if you live in the Philippines, it's waterproof or NOTHING.

The Body Shop Lash Sport Waterproof Mascara Says ---
Finally, waterproof mascara that really does see you through the day. Lash Sport is high-performing mascara that volumises, lengthens and lasts. Formulated with Community Trade marula oil, it’s splashproof and sweatproof while also being easy to remove with a waterproof make-up remover. Expect no flaking, no smudging and no fading and benefit from defined lashes that last all day long.

AMW says ---

Pros
  • Vegan formula.
  • Lightweight.  Lashes aren't heavy or "crunchy".
  • Defines.
  • Volumizes a bit.
  • Waterproof indeed.
  • Stays dry and matte, no smudge or smear.
  • The brush separates the lashes well.  No clumping.
  • Can lift lashes (at a certain degree) even without curling.

Cons

  • Lacking on the length department.
  • Hooded eye users may find the mascara wand a bit big.
Neutral
  • Can only be removed completely with oil-based eye makeup remover.  Micellar water won't work!

Overall
A good mascara for daily use, it is natural and defines pretty well.  The shade is black but more on the natural black side.  I wish it could volumize and lengthen more (for non-existent lashes) but those with already long and luscious lashes will appreciate how it lifts the lashes and stays that way the whole day.

Tips
  • Curl lashes before mascara use.
  • Apply starting at the center and use the tip of the wand to gently apply on the corner-lashes.
  • 2-3 coats are enough as it dries off pretty fast and layering more will clump the lashes.
  • Remove with oil-base eye makeup remover.  The Body Shop has great ones!

Will I repurchase?
No.  But will recommend as it does not work as well on my lashes.

To whom do I recommend this to?
Users with existing long and thick lashes.  Those who prefers to wear waterproof and those into sports!  This does not budge!

Where to purchase and how much?
At local The Body Shop stores priced at Php795.00

For users with small or hooded lids, the mascara wand may hit the lid a few times so be gentle in application.

Before and After
It lengthens and darkens my lashes at a certain extent.  It looks more natural in person .  What I like about this mascara is how it lifts my lashes even without the use of eyelash curler.  That said, the mascara won't feel heavy.

I love how it defines in a natural way.  The effect is very natural in person so if you are a type who loves vavavoom lashes, this may not be enough for you.
