I always advise my make up clients to invest on 2 shades of lipstick. A natural one and one that gives statement.
For the brand Make Up For Ever, it is easy to pick a natural and statement color because they have wide range of shades to choose from. Their Artist Rouge Ink Matte Liquid Color is no exception.
Housed in a cute nail polish-like bottle, please do not mistake this as a nail polish!
Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Ink
Php1,250.00
A lipstick that combines ultra-matte finish, colour intensity and comfort with no compromise.
The packaging is quite simple, you see the color right away without the need to look for shade name. Best of all, it has a short handle and has a doe-foot applicator. Easy-to-use and easy to tote along for travel!
Swatch:
302 a cool tone peach shade.
402 a blue base red shade.
302 appears really bright on me. I find this to be a great lip color to use if I apply a peach or coral colored blush. It just works really nice that way! I also like to use this if I don't have much makeup on and maybe apply ample amount of bronzer all over my face to warm up the rest of my face making my lips pop in a more natural way.
402 on the other hand is a nice deep red shade. It makes my teeth white and it looks really flattering on fair to dark complexion. I like how it warms up the rest of my face and it works with any blue color!
Now shade aside, I want to share some of my insights on this liquid lipstick range from Make Up For Ever ---
- Highly pigmented. True color from tube to lips.
- Matte finish but does not look dry even for someone with very dry lips.
- Does not settle into lip lines
- Lightweight feel. I don't feel like I'm wearing any lipstick at all.
- Long-wearing. It stays approximately more than 5 hours with eating and drinking. The product transfer on mugs but not as much.
- Non-drying. Does not make my lips feel tight.
- Though matte finish, it has a glossy look at the center making my lips look soft and healthy.
Out of the 2, I am leaning on shade 402 as 302 is too cool-tone for me. It photographs really well but looks bright and unnatural in person. 302 would be a perfect color for those who have darker complexion (Hello nude lips or MLBB lip color!)
I am very happy with this range because they are friendly to us dry-lips gals! I can't wait to check out their other shades!
Which color do you like more?
Keep smilin'
Stay happy!
