Something New: Pleasures Eau Fraiche - My Kind of Pleasure

Happy Saturday everyone!  I am looking forward for next week as Baby AMW is official 1 month old by May 16th!  I am also officially able to take a shower!  I know, yucky right?  But Chinese readers or readers who have Chinese friends would understand what I'm going through!  

To celebrate my freedom from "not taking a shower" for a month!  I'm getting ready to use Estee Lauder's newest scent!  I've finished up a couple of bottles of the original Pleasures Eau De Parfum and I'm sure a lot of you can relate, it's one of the best smelling scent ever!

AMW Reviews: Celeteque Sun Care Soothing Lip Balm with SPF15

Happy Friday AMW Friends!
Me and my brother have been lip balm/moisturizer user for years!  I purchased my first ever lip balm at a local drugstore back when I was still in grade school, I can still remember it was a minty Chapstick.  No, I'm not into beauty products at an early age but it's more of a "need" rather than luxury!

When I found a good lip balm that works, I always share my finds to my brother whenever he gets back for vacation (ex. Burt's Bees, Kiehl's No. 1 Lip balm, Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream etc...), and finally, I'm glad to share to him another finding, an inexpensive one and I'm sure he'll appreciate it as he uses Celeteque skin care range anyways!

Eureka Moment: Inexpensive Moisturizer that Works!

After giving birth, I've noticed that my hands and feet are extra dry!  I know I've been complaining about my dry skin for years but the dryness today is different and I call myself a "shrink" (not the doctor..lol) but a lady with shrinking skin (from dryness)!  

Since I'm actively moving and staying close to Baby AMW for the whole day, I stayed away from any lotions or creams as I know how sensitive baby skin could be so I'd rather suffer the dryness rather than Baby AMW suffering from possible allergies.  But after 3 weeks in denial, I've decided to at least moisturize my hands at night as I spend lesser time cuddling Baby AMW (trying hard not to do so).

I've had the Jergens Overnight Repair Nightly Restoring Moisturizer for quite some time and even gifted some to my mom who actively uses moisturizing lotions for her legs before she use her medical leg stockings!  I'm glad I finally gave it a try as this product is indeed "Eureka Moment" worthy! 

AMW Reviews: Ahava All In One Toning Cleanser

Tuesday Choose-day as what people say!  Well, I choose to be positive and happy today no matter how much I look like a cute panda!  I hope you choose to seize today like the best day of your life!  It will happen if we believe it!  

Now, let's talk about a toner and cleanser product mild enough I get to use even during my pregnancy!  Thanks to Sampleroom.ph I was able to grab a good sized sample for free!  I've been pretty lazy on my skincare routine especially on the latter part of my pregnancy, why?  Well, my feet and hands are swollen and the pregnancy hormones are telling me not to bother prettifying myself as I'll go straight to the labor and delivery room anyways! hehehe

So yes, I admit, there were times I get too lazy to wash my face I just grab the Ahava All In One Toning Cleanser and go straight to sleep!  *lol*  No judging please :P

AskMeMom: Welcome Baby Kyle Nash!

Happy Monday AMW Friends!

How have you been?  Time flew by pretty quickly and Baby AMW is already 3 weeks old!  I can't tell the time of the day as my sleeping schedule is totally dependable on baby AMW's schedule but surprisingly, I'm still a happy and energetic mom amidst the sleepless nights, constant breastfeeding, diaper changing and a whole lot of singing and swaying! :P  

Let me share a bit about my experience before I gave birth.  I was supposed to be due on April 21 so I wasn't expecting anything even though I felt a couple of pelvic pains 2 days before I gave birth!  I didn't even take a leave from work and has been working non-stop (so I hope baby AMW is a smarty!) 

On April 15th (Monday), I went to the hospital for another check-up and even went for ultrasound check, I was literally inside the hospital for half a day and comes night time, I've decided to visit my OB and let her know if I'm still fit to do 3 hours of walking per day plus some medications to help soften my pelvic bones!  I was then checked for IE and was told I'm ready to give birth anytime as I'm already 3-4cm away!  Mr. AMW and I looked at each other as panic struck at Mr. AMW's face.  Several weeks before giving birth, I have sleepless nights worrying about labor, the pain, baby's health..everything!  On that very day that the doctor advised me I'm ready to give birth, I immediately felt a rush of courage and was actually relaxed and even decided to have a light dinner at my favorite Chinese restaurant to prevent ulcer attacks! 

At 10:00pm, Mr. AMW and my parents-in-law accompanied me to the hospital and we went straight to the labor room.  I even joined Mr. AMW in walking from the parking lot to the labor room just to make sure the baby goes further "down".  As I went in the Labor room, the lovely nurses were there cheerfully welcoming me and I'm glad because it kept my nervousness at bay!  In just an hour I was told I was 5cm away and my Doctor arrived and I was instructed to be induced!  In just an hour, I was rolled out to the delivery room and I wasn't able to see Mr. AMW anymore!  

Though painful, I was surprisingly calm and quiet!  I even had the chance to chitchat with the nurses and doctors which made it easier for me not to think about the pain!  I also requested for an epidural so thankfully, the anesthesiologist came in just in time!  Thank God I'm not that scared of needles and I had my appendectomy surgery many years ago so the feeling of injecting something into my spine is not foreign anymore! 

A couple of waiting, I was told I'm nearing 10 cm and ready to be on active labor anytime soon!  The funny thing about my pregnancy, I was very busy with working I didn't have chance to attend any pregnancy classes so I absolutely have NO IDEA how to breath!  Again, thankfully, the nurses and doctor are quite supportive I was instructed on what to do and let me tell you, it's not easy and it's the most uncomfortable feeling ever but after experiencing labor, I have a million more respect to mothers now and I can't help but muster "I love you mom" inside my head!  

At exactly 1:29am, for around 3.5 hours of labor, Kyle Nash finally came into the world!  He was placed for a split second on my tummy area but was taken out immediately for some checks as he was born really small --- 4.8lbs to be exact! 

As I was rolled out to the recovery room, I was really exhausted yet excited to meet Baby Kyle!  Unfortunately, I wasn't able to seem him for awhile as several checks were done on him to make sure everything is alright!  

Thankfully, we were told Kyle is one healthy and strong baby!  All we need to do is to make sure he increases his weight and height and so far, after first checkup, his Pediatrician was quite happy with his weight gain!
