Skintific Brightening Moisture Gel vs. 5x Ceramide Moisture Gel

 

One thing you should be reminded of while reading this is that I have Sensitive Skin.  A skin so sensitive I can immediately tell if a product would work for me or not by using it only once!  I get itchy, rashes will appear and anti-histamine is immediately needed before it's too late.

That is why no matter how viral a product can be on Tiktok or Instagram, I can only use products with ingredients that I know are safe enough to work for my skin.  So when I was offered some Skintific products to try, I did research and these 2 products got a good pass when I saw their ingredients list before deciding to put these to test.  I mean we sensitive girlies should protect ourselves right? 

Skintific's tag line: "We Repair Your Skin Barrier."  spoke straight to my heart as the first 2 paragraphs of this blog post have described my skin condition --- weak skin barrier. I have to make sure to use products that does not only hydrate but keep it protected from external aggressors.

Before I share the answer, let me share to you my exact skin condition before testing the product for transparency. 

I suffered from eye allergies for the past month so I had to skip using eye creams and first key details about each product that I get to try ended up sleeping without using any skincare products from side effects of medicines (drowsiness!).  I noticed how my whole face suffered from my eye condition (which is healing as of writing but you can still see redness on my before photos!)  

Prior to testing, my skin looked and felt dry.  Putting on makeup was a task because the foundation tends to sink in dry patches and lines and redness occur depending on where my skin felt itchy!  

I started testing this out with a patch test at the back of my ear then once passed, I applied each product on half face for the next 2-3 weeks.   You shouldn't do it but I did it for you anyways :P

VT Cosmetics Cica Skincare Products Thoughts

 

This product, I received last year around September or October.  I usually share just my initial thoughts since I do test a lot of skincare products but guess what?  I actually "hit the pan" on all these products from VT Cosmetics.

I tested 3 products from the Brand --

VT Cosmetics Cica Cream (Php1,200)
VT Cosmetics PRO Cica Daily Moisture Mask (Php1,290.00)
VT Cosmetics Cleansing Oil (php1,200)

Here's a quick test on the effectiveness of their cleansing oil.  The product is lightweight and does not blur my eyes.  It does remove certain waterproof makeup but as always, I can't get these close to my eyes so I do extra step on cleansing using gentle eye makeup remover for waterproof mascaras and liners.

I usually apply a good amount all over my face with eyes closed.  I gently massage the product all over making sure to be gentle on the eye area.  I lather it a bit by adding a few amount of water and after a few minutes, I would wash them all off!  The product smells good, does not sting and irritate my sensitive skin and does remove approximately 80% of my full makeup.

If I do wear very heavy makeup, I would use the same product to apply on a cotton pad and gently "melt" the waterproof makeup with cotton pad before I proceed to face wash.

Sheet masking 101

 

Some of you ask me via DM if sheet masking are important.  There have been rounds of Tiktok videos saying sheet masking are useless.  

"To each their own."

I firmly believe sheet masks work!  I remembered having ultimate dry skin moment and I consistently used Hyaluronic sheet masks from Dr. Morita and it worked wonders!  I personally felt the difference so I highly recommend them.

To some who probably have normal skin, and are in very consistent with their skincare routine, maybe, you do not need this extra expense.

Sheet masking are my boost of skincare in less the time!  If you want super hydrated skin ready for an important event, they work!  That is why most makeup artist use this to prep their clients' skin instead of applying a whole round of skincare products - which, by the way is more expensive!  

At the end of the day, you do you!  I felt using sheet masks does not only improve my skin, it also helps my well-being!  I mean seriously, what fun it felt after removing the mask sheet!  I get instant soft, bouncy, smooth skin!

See?  The hydrated skin may last for only a couple of minutes but the confidence it gave me is worth it!  I felt like I won in the anti-aging department!
