Doing It All With the Right Shampoo and Conditioner

If you are a long-time reader of my blog, you can probably pinpoint how OC I am when it comes to my hair!  I've written about my money-saving elementary days just to buy a nice bottle of hair serum (when hair serums aren't even well-known back then!).  Yes, I have issues with my hair, my natural hair is so unique most hairstylists I visit would always say ---

"You have smooth hair but it looks frizzy, I can't explain your hair!"
"With your type of hair, the solution will always be rebond or Keratin-treatment"
"You have fine hair but since each strand is frizzy, you seem to have a head full of hair!"
"You better invest for a monthly hair treatment because your hair is extremely dead!"

OUCH ha! (Sakit niyo magsalita) :P
But instead of dwelling on my imperfections. I've realized, I just have to face it and maybe look for solutions!  The solution came in actually more than a decade after, when I started working to spend more on hair care products.

And speaking about facing what I have, my quick solution was, to go for a hairstyle that works for my hair type.  That brought me back to my "hair history".  It has always been a bob cut with bangs.  Can you spot me?  (Of course you can, encircled it for you!)

Cute di ba? :P

I  maintained that cut until I college, it has always been above-the-shoulder cut with bangs and it has to be "layered" in a way so it won't look thick!  I visit the same hairstylist for years and that's how I worked through the awkward hair stage and actually survived without people realizing it!

Happy Saturday AMW Friends!

Something New: Pantene Daily Intensive Conditioner

Raise your hand if you grew up using Pantene Pro-V shampoo and conditioner?  *raises mine*
I am always honest on how conscious I am with my hair as I was growing up!  It's not curly, yet not straight, it's just in between --- but one thing I'm sure...my hair is extremely dry!

Back when I was in 6th grade (no rebonding or Brazilian treatments back then), I used to stare at my classmate's straight, long hair and wished I was born with it!

Then, she told me she uses Pantene Pro-V and that's when I started hoarding on this brand too!  As much as I would love my hair to magically straighten like that of my classmate's...it didn't happen!  But Panatene has done it's part keeping my hair soft (to touch), smelling oh-so-good!

Fast forward to today, with so many hair care products to try, I kinda drifted away from the brands I used and trusted....thankfully, Pantene Pro-V came back to the household like a storm!  In their new Daily Intensive Treatment Conditioners and the best part?  in 3 variants!

Aqua Pure (For Lightweight Hair you can Swish)
Different from conventional, creamy conditioners, the new Pantene Aqua Pure conditioner delivers just the right amount of nourishment to your hair without weighing it down. Your hair will feel healthier and lighter after just one use.
• Nourishes hair and gives it a lightweight feel
• Features Clean Rinse technology to rinse hair in just seconds
• Hair is beautifully conditioned, healthy and lifted

Total Damage Care 10 (Helps Prevent 10 signs of Damage)
Provides daily repair for hair damage suffered during the day, with 80% more conditioning*. Repairing and nourishing aside, it also helps to prevent further hair damage by minimizing the loss of essential protein.

Color & Perm Lasting Care (Longer Protection of Color and Perm)
Formulated to help replenish the health of your damaged hair by moisturizing and protecting your cuticles. Use at every wash for continuous protection against the day-to-day damage inflicted on your hair.

I can't even take a pick on which particular variant I would like to try first as my hair needs ALL 3!!!  I'll probably start with Total Damage Care 10 as I believe with all the chemical treatments my hair went through these past few months, my hair needs all the TLC it needs!

Which particular variant would you try first?
Have you tried any of the Intensive Conditioner mentioned above?  How was the experience?  I'd love to hear from you!

AMW Reviews: Pantene Clinicare Hair Time Renewal Treatment

I've bought Pantene Clinicare when I went to Hong Kong last May.  This reminded me of the Pantene 3-minute miracle which is widely available locally due to the packaging and it's squeeze type 15ml tube size.  Base on research, I believe the Pantene Clinicare is only available in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore.  But worry no more as we have our counterpart locally which works just as well, if not, works exactly the same.

Pantene Clinicare says ---

One Wash Treatment is a single dose, rinse-type treatment with an effective rich formula that stimulates hair shaft regrowth.  It locks in moisture, repairing and protecting the hair as it completely seals every hair strand.  It is targeted at hair ends with accumulated damage and is apparently able to offer non-stop protection of every strand of hair.

AMW says---

Pros
  • hair tangle free
  • hair is super soft after using this treatment
  • the softness retained even after several days
  • leaves hair light and non-oily
  • easy twist tube
  • smells wonderful
Cons
  • not available locally, but you can check out Pantene Pro-V 3minute treatment
  • do not expect fast regrowth, come on..do you really believe that? lol
  • if you have super damaged hair: Do not expect miracles! :)
  • hair goes back to regular state once you stopped using this
Overall
Most 3-5 minutes treatment do not work for me and I believe a lot of you have the same sentiments as I do!  But when I met Pantene's treatment that comes in tubes, they both WORKED!  They don't work for long term just like regular hot oil treatment, but with constant usage, it does improve the "shine" and "feel" of the hair.  I can't tell if the Clinicare Hair Time Renewal Treatment and the Pro-V's 3 minute miracle have the exact same ingredients as the Clinicare version I bought has Japanese words written all over.  But based on my personal experience, both works exactly the same, so if you have Clinicare available in your country or Pro-V 3 minute miracle, both are ok to purchase...yes, it's a GO signal from me! :)

Tips
  • squeeze off excess water after shampooing
  • apply the cream from midshaft of hair down to the ends
  • leave it longer, more than 5 minutes if possible
  • use it consistently 2-3 times a week depending on your hair texture
  • if your hair is super short, 2 treatments can be done in 1 tube
Will I repurchase?
I'd love to!  But I did repurchased Pantene 3-minute miracle instead

Where to purchase and how much?
If you want the Clinicare version, you can try Ebay.  For Pantene Pro-V 3 minute miracle, it costs around Php100 (approx $2.50) per tube or Php300 (approx $6.50) for box of 3.

Any other instant treatment you've tried that works?
You know you can always spill the beans here!

Have a wonderful day!
