AMW Reviews: Graftobian High-Def Warm Palette #1

I've been lurking the Graftobian sellers on ebay because I've been meaning to purchase a High Definition concealer/foundation palette.  I've read raves  on how great this foundation is.  Thanks to Stef, my dear friend, because it's nice to know it's finally available locally!  I've asked her what palette number to purchase first and she recommended warm pallete which works well for most Asian Skin.  I'm glad I listened! :)

Graftobian HD Creme Palette says ---

With rich color and coverage yet satin smooth creamy consistency, our Hi-Def Glamour Cremes are formulated to yield flawless High Definition results whether or not you're in front of a camera. These special palettes were designed to separate Cool, Warm and Neutral shades for artist convenience, poured into professional friendly, attractive packaging.

An artist can and often will use both media on the same face without having to work to match colors from scratch. The colors in this HD line have been sorted into Warm, Cool and Neutral shades as well as cream Corrector shades. This sort of user friendly system allows an artist to order within a "family" of shades for temperature correct use.

Pros
  • very light, felt like you're not wearing any foundation at all
  • easy to mix to get your desired shade
  • gives a nice coverage, can also double up as a concealer
  • doesn't dry out my dry skin, no flakiness
  • for matte finish lover: this has a very clean matte finish!
  • very smooth and easy to apply
  • a little amount goes a long way
  • if you're looking for foundation that does not contain SPF, this is it!
  • if you have dry skin, you don't even need to set this with a powder, this finishes up a really nice matte finish
  • build-able coverage, your choice of light to heavy finish
Cons
  • if you're not a makeup artist, you won't need all these shades
  • if you are into multi-purpose product, this isn't it.  There's no sunsceen, no skincare ingredients, no nothing!  Just pure foundation pigment.
Overall
I've always wanted to try HD foundation, but the price always stops me.  I'm glad there is a more affordable alternative Hi-Def makeup out there that's easier to the pocket.  I didn't think twice purchasing this because I know I can use this for clients and ended up using this for myself too *winks*

I am thrilled with the simple packaging, the smooth application and the nice coverage I get and I can't wait to try this to other people! This palette works well for both oily and dry skinned, you just have to prep your skin well before and after foundation application.  What I love about this palette is its multi-purpose, works well as foundation and concealer!  I don't need to carry tons of product on gigs.

Warm Palette #1 works well for MAC's NC15-35

I will definitely purchase more! :)

Tips
  • if you plan to purchase this for personal use, purchase the single foundation pot instead, you don't need all 5 shades not unless you are into highlighting and contouring
  • if you plan to mix, do not apply this directly onto your brush/sponge, better to scoop the product out with a spatula and plate, mix it well to warm the cream foundation prior to application
  • prior to application, prep your skin with your desired primer or moisturizer
  • for oily skin: pat with a setting powder to "prolong" the matte finish
  • yellow undertone: purchase the warm palette
Will I repurchase?
Yes.  I plan to purchase more shades as this is cheaper for makeup artist like me :)

Where to purchase and how much?
At HD Makeup Studio for Php1,400 (approx $30.40).

L-R (lightest to darkest):
Graceful Swan, Ingenue, Vixen, Temptress and Enchantress

My shade is a bit of mix
between 2 Ingenue and 3 Vixen

Have you tried HD?
This is my first, and definitely  not a last :)

Keep smilin'
Stay happy!

  2. I'm very curious about these kinda foundations. The fact that they're cream and yet lightweight. Pure foundation pigment, as you say. Thanks for the review! :)

  3. you're right nikki, high-def products are really expensive.. i wanna try their concealer palette but still not sure what shade to get.. this palette has a nice range of colors perfect for MUA's like you..

  5. i've seen this at work already and it is bee-you-ti-ful! although i have a MUA friend that says that it does have a tendency to get oily, but it looks really pretty in pictures. the only reason why i haven't bought my own is that i'm holding out for the bigger palette :)

  6. This looks promising but not having spf is a minus for me. But the price is reasonable considering you get 5 shades in one palette. Perfect for MUA's indeed. :P

  7. I have the Graftobian Super Palette in Warm and also the Hi-Def Glamour Creme Palette, Corrector Shades. I find that the foundation works nicely for those with drier or normal skin but can look oily after time on those with combo or oily skin. I really LOVE the corrector shades palette because you can mix concealer colors and the coverage is just ridiculously good, you just have to be careful to mix in something more liquidy for undereyes so it doesn't fall into wrinkles and creases. I use the concealer palette almost every gig, but I tend to fall back on my MAC face+body for foundation since it's just easier to blend and works on more skintypes!

  8. I super super love mine. And you're right I applied mine with a stippling brush and the result was light weight airbrushed picture ready skin! :) It has the same consistency as cinema secrets but not as oily. Im afraid of running out hehe

  9. yay for lots of shades to choose from.. at least if you get darker or lighter, you'll have already a concealer or foundie ^_^

    Happy Holidays!

  10. this is my most favorite creme foundation ever! =] i have the super palette so it has all of the warm shades. =]

i believe that the warm palette covers NC30 - NC55.

also, i compensate for the loss of SPF by using a moisturizer with built in SPF. =]

the color corrector palette is also very good. =D

  11. my first reacton was the same as LyNn. and i think i will enjoy a palette like this even though i am not a MA as I have blemish in different shades. thanks for the review. you always have interested stuff to share.

  12. I wanted to buy this but I figured it'll just oil up my very oily skin even more. Much like Cinema Secrets. I think oily skinned ladies have to avoid oil-based HD foundations, but I can't generalize for sure because I haven't tried this. Nice review

  13. LyNn, yes, they do look similar, but I've tried Cineme Secrets and the CS one felt creamier and in my opinion, a bit oilier :)

Connie, no worries, my pleasure, I'm sure you'll enjoy trying this out if given the chance!

Khymm, I know, I was able to prolong my MUFE lemming because of Graftobian :)

  14. Xin, lol you are too funny! Hey, you just got engaged!!!! Congratulations!

Crystal, yes, i believe this works really well for drier skinned individuals, but the oilinest can always be solved with the right primer :)

Pammy, I like it that this doesn't have SPF, I find it really difficult to look for foundation that do not contain SPF heheh

  15. Jen, wow, i wish the Super Palette will be available down here. The corrector looks exciting! I may purchase it after I finish up my Makeup Forever concealer palette with corrector

Caby, me too! i think I will be running out of my shade SOON!!!

Iyah, yes, and great for contouring too! Happy holidays to you too!

  16. Christiana, thanks for sharing your thoughts, now I want my own super palette!

Jojoba, so true, if you are someone who uses not only 1 shade, you'll definitely enjoy this :)

Diega, the oiliest isn't as bad as other foundation, you can easily pat on with an oil control setting powder :) thanks for the visit and comment :)

  17. Thanks for the review. I'm curious to try these kind of foundation palettes but my skin is so pale I'll probably end up using just the lightest shade. But it's very handy for MUAs.

  18. I love this! I have the warm palette with 18 shades. I think its better than cinema secret which is on the dryer side and you have to use a foundation thinner. Graftobian is soo creamy and blends easily. Also, it photographs beautifully.

I got mine at camerareadycosmetics.com and it cost me 67 bucks and the small foundation palette like yours cost 21 bucks. Its cheaper.

I hope youre having a hreat holiday!

  19. Gio, so true, you can end up with the single foundation pot :)

Becky, I'd love the 18shades! calling Stef and Jeave..where's the 18 shades? hehehehe :) I know what you mean about the creaminess, I love how light and creamy it feels!

  20. i have this foundation. while i don't love it as much as i thought i would i haven't been able to put together a review of it. of course you did an awesome job! i agree with your review!

  21. what foundie shade can you recommend for nc25-30?

Im not sure if ill be getting the complete palette or just one shade :)

    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  22. No worries, and thanks for agreeing :)

K, so far, you can try either Vixen or Temptress, but I think for single pot, Temptress is the only available shade for now that would be ok for NC25-30 :)

  23. hi nikki, can i apply this using an ordinary makeup sponge lng? Or pwedng fingers lng din? Wla kc akong beauty blender. And i dont own a lot of brushes din. I usually use my fingers in applyng liquid foundation..

  24. I have this exact same palette and liking it, I can highlight and contour at the same time and conceal and use it for foundation, so multipurpose - me likey!! It's for my own personal use though lol, I initially bought it because I did not know which shade I would be in. And now that I have all shades, I think I might still have to get like 2 or 3 shades to mix, and as season changes lol.

Check out my quick review on the product in my blog

  27. How many uses/applications do you think you get from each color?

What is your fav method for application?

    Thank you ! :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Sheena, yes ok to apply using regular sponge or even fingers :)

Dana, I like using this as a concealer too!

Morbidfrank, I know what you mean, try to search online on a person who has a similar skin tone with you and check which palette she is using.

Kerri, hmm, I really can't tell but one color finish up faster than the other because I use it more often! I use either Beauty Blender or foundation brush :)

  29. Hello :)) What is the difference between Vixen and Temptress? I am somewhere in between nc25- nc30 :).

    ReplyDelete
  30. @Beastie Vixen and temptress are both with golden/yellow undertone but Vixen is lighter. If you are on NC20-25 color, Vixen would look better, but if you plan to use this to double up as a concealer to hide those dark circles, Temptress is nice as it has more "orange" color which counteracts darkness around the eye area

  31. How long does this stay on lalo na in philippine weather/humidity?
    Thanks!

  32. @Anonymous Depends on how oily the user is, but for me, I don't have problems with makeup meltdown as I set it properly with powder :)
