What's Up AMW? I got the Sonic!

Happy Humpy Wednesday!  I do hope I'm feeling better today as yesterday was really bad!  Had a tummy ache, headache and throat ache, and worst?  I had a super early make-up gig so I only had 3 hours of sleep as I've done both hair and makeup to a client for prenup and straight back to work!

I used to think I am Supergirl --- guess I'm not!

I would like to share to you the new gadget I got.  I heard about the Clarisonic brush years ago but I never thought of purchasing one due to its price!  To those who doesn't know, Clarisonic is a facial cleansing brush that cleanses the skin of your face in a safe and gentle "sonic" motion.  Through deeper cleansing, it can transform blemished skin into a clear and smooth skin.

True or false, I wouldn't know as I am just one of the many who's salivating over this gadget that many have sworn to work!

Recently, I was contacted by Jennifer Santos to give an honest review on the new product similar to Clarisonic but lesser the cost!  Before I gave her the answer, I advised her my skin concerns and told her I am a bit wary to try this product as I don't want to rub my skin with brush as my skin is dry and sensitive!  She shared links to different sites on reviews so I can do some research myself before I make a decision.  She also shared to me that she suffers dry and sensitive skin and her skin vastly improved after using this system, that's the reason why she's distributing this in our country.  After various research, I am finally ready to try....

SkinSonic
Sonic SkinCare System

Skinsonic cleansing brushes are two times more effective than manual cleansing,
and remove six times more makeup than traditional cleansing.

The kit includes Sonic Device, Brush Head for Normal Skin, Brush Head for Sensitive Skin, Exfoliation Applicator, Hydration Applicator, Toning Attachment, Storage Cradle and 2 Duracell Batteries.

One huge reason I said yes to this review is because of the Brush Head for Sensitive Skin which I started to use 4 days ago!  Mr. AMW uses the other Brush Head for Normal Skin as he said his skin is thicker (in Tagalog: Makapal daw ang mukha niya LOL).

For the first few times of usage, it was a bit weird and difficult for me as I'm not used to having a brush (no matter how soft it is) oscillating all over my face when I'm not even comfortable using a wash cloth in washing off dirt and make-up.

I recently had a good conversation with a make-up artist friend who advised both me and Mr. AMW to use a sponge or washcloth during face cleansing as using our hands are not enough to remove all the dirt!  So the Skinsonic came just right in time!
A full review will follow after months of usage as I want to see the pros and cons of using one, trust me to give you the blow by blow!  So far, I don't feel the sting anymore after my 3rd time of usage and I'm actually loving the feel of super cleansed face afterwards.

Skinsonic locally costs Php2,799 (approx $66.65) for introductory price at Skinsonic Philippines Website.

If you've tried ANY Sonic brush cleanser?

I can't compare this to Clarisonic as I do not own one, but if you do, feel free to share your experiences too!

Keep smilin'
Stay happy!

  3. w00t! hello sonic sister! your sonic is only half price of MIA, it'd be fantastic if it works the same. I am so far pleased with my MIA, I really should have gotten it earlier, could have saved me quite some moolah from facials

  4. I can't wait for the review! Been using Watson's Facial Massager set that includes a sponge applicator, cleaning brush, massaging roller and a pumice stone. Its brush can be a little harsh on the skin, my skin stings after using it. Would love to try the Skinsonic.

  36. Kamusta! i own clarisonic plus (thanks to airline miles!...LOL) and it's ok. yes, it does cleanse skin well, minimize pores (my blackheads arent as prominent) and you tend to use little moisturizer/creams etc after use. i do notice skin improvement but that's but i attribute that to retinal products. I honestly think clarisonic is highly over-rated for its price. I think any vibrating brush can do the same for the skin as the whole point of clarisonic or similar brush is to agitate the skin for deep cleanse. if i had choice to buy clarisonic again, (because it will eventually loose its charge and die) i would not. wow, i said alot! just wanted those gals who are so wanting this to know it's not all that. :D

  37. @Anonymous Thanks for your feedback on the Clarisonic! Let's hope the Skinsonic is enough so it'll save lots of money for our fellow beauty enthusiasts :D

  38. i hope skinsonic works well for you, Nikki! cant wait to read your review. just wanted my fellow pinays back in the Phil who really want the clarisonic to know that it is quite (very) overated/pricey for what it does. ;)
