Readers' Corner: Which Benefit Product to Start With?

Happy start of the week AMW Friends!
Today I will be answering yet another most asked question for AMW!  I have received emails after emails asking me which Benefit product they should start saving up for.

First of all, I want to clarify that I work for several Benefit project as a freelance makeup artist and trainer, I am so happy the brand trusted my talent so much to let me handle such projects!  But before I was able to do so, I have to admit that I am not that familiar with all Benefit products so I had to study each product's usage and benefits online and requested to try out their testers just to familiarize myself with the brand and products.

So yes, after several workshops and a photoshoot, I am proud to say I am quite knowledgeable with "almost" all Benefit products that's why it took me until today to finally answer the most asked "Benefit-related" query.

If you ask me, I have so many Benefit favorites that I included inside my makeup train case, but for personal use and for someone on a budget, I suggest readers to start investing on makeup kits instead of a single Benefit product.  Why?  Well, first, you get to try different Benefit products in one.

Benefit Cabana Glama
For girls who plan to apply natural-looking makeup with a bit of contouring!

The kit includes Some Kind A Gorgeous Foundation in Medium, 3 Eyeshadows (Peach Fizz, Bronze Buzz and Cocoa Pizzazz), Hoola Blush and Posietint.

The shade of Some Kind-a Gorgeous is in Medium which matches most Filipina skin.  If you have fair skin, this particular foundation can double up as a contouring cream!  A bit tricky to do so but a lot of practice and blending is the key of successful contouring.

3 eye shadow shades are quite easy to work with, no matter how much you apply, the effect will always be natural and perfect for daytime.  It would help to use a Creaseless Cream Shadow or any eye shadow primer to keep the eye shadow from fading especially for oily-lidded users.

Hoola is my favorite Bronzing Powder/Contouring Powder from Benefit!  I am glad I didn't get to pick Hoola Boxed Powder because Hoola in this particular kit is enough to last me a long time, up until this moment, I still haven't hit the pan!  And oh, the free tiny brush is a wonderful brush to use to contour your nose!

Last but not the least, the tiny Posietint is a wonderful addition to give your cheeks a hint of baby pink blush and can also double up as a lip tint!

Confessions of a Concealaholic
This is a perfect makeup kit for girls who are addicted to concealers!  If you want to try as much concealers/correctors in a kit, this is a perfect one from Benefit.

The palette came with lovely diary-like book with a booklet of instructions on how to use the kit.

More Instructions on how to use Erase Paste, Boi-ing, Lemon Aid and Eye Bright.

The kit includes:
02 Medium shade of Erase Paste, That Gal Brightening Face Primer,
Lemon Aid, Eye Bright, Boi-ing in shades 01 and 02

Erase Paste is my favorite under eye concealer from Benefit, it is thick enough to give medium to heavy coverage and this tiny sample is enough to last me months!

That Gal Face Primer is another favorite of mine, thanks to this kit I realized how much I love this face primer I ended up purchasing full size!

Lemon Aid is one of my first Benefit product, thanks to dear blogger friend Gracie for sending me one as a gift!  To be honest, Lemon Aid doesn't really work well in terms of preventing eye shadow crease but it helps brighten up the lids and under eye area!  I prefer using my favorite eye shadow primer underneath.

Boi-ing for me is a wonderful concealer to cover up red spots on face, freckles or other skin issues!  The kit has both 01 and 02 shade and I also like to mix both to create another shade depending on client's skin.  Boi-ing 01 can also work as a skin highlighter!

I'm Glam Therefor I am
This is my first ever Benefit kit, to be honest, I'm not sure if they are still available at Benefit stores but I love how versatile this palette is in creating various looks!

The kit includes ---
Girl Meets Pearl, 4 Eyeshadows, Glamming Face Powder
Bad Gal Lash Mascara and Benefit Lip gloss

4 eye shadow shades ---
Pink Fancy, Icy Lilac, Posh Amethyst and Precious Pewter
The shadows are meant for girls who are opting for light and natural effect.  An eyeliner is definitely needed if you use these eye shadows for a defined look.

The face powder is my favorite in this kit, it gives a nice healthy glow especially when applied on the cheekbones.

This is my first time to try Bad Gal Lash Mascara, my favorite, hands down, is still Benefit They're Real Beyond Mascara

Benefit lip gloss has a nice melon-like taste.  The effect of this particular color is a healthy peach-nude shade that works better if you applied darker looking eye shadows.
