AMW Reviews: Wet N' Wild ColorIcon Blusher in Mellow Wine

Hi everyone!
Let's talk about blush!  When I started my love for makeup, I actually started on blushes!  I purchased random drugstore brands both local and international ones!  One of my favorite local brand is the Aido blush and it's actually housed in a simple round packaging and I could never ever finish them up!  I tend to lose them and purchase a new one!

Now that there are so many international makeup brands coming in, we tend to look into expensive blush brands and forget about the inexpensive ones and mind you, some works just as good as the expensive ones!  Today, I will be sharing another good find girls who are on a budget may want to try!

 Wet N' Wild ColorIcon Blusher
(not the original packaging on sale)

Just by looking at the packaging, it spells boring and blah.... but this is the perfect time for me to say: "Please don't judge the book by it's cover" or in this case, please don't judge the blush by it's cover!

AMW says ---
Pros
  • Good pigmentation.
  • Staying power is good.  Lasts whole day for normal/dry skin.  At least 4-5 hours for oily skin.
  • A little goes a long way.
  • Blends easily on cheeks.
  • Price
Cons
  • The blush is a bit "too powdery" so it is easy to "over apply".
Neutral
  • Packaging.  The plastic could be inexpensive to look at but I love the fact that it fits my makeup pouch perfectly due to its slim design.
Overall
Highly pigmented, good staying power blush.

Tips
  • Apply lightly as a little goes a long way.
  • Use a big fluffy brush for a natural flush or use a more dense brush for a bit of contour.
  • Tap brush before applying to your cheeks as the blush is highly pigmented.
  • Applied too much? Don't worry, apply your favorite powder foundation on top to "lessen' pigmentation.
  • No to slippery hands and fingers, it cracks easily.
Will I repurchase?
Yes!

To whom do I recommend this to?
Anyone who loves makeup who are on a budget for inexpensive yet good quality blush.  The shade Mellow Wine works for all skin tone!

Where to purchase and how much?
Available at SM Malls, Watsons and Purebeauty stores for Php299.00 (approx $6.95).

A closer look on shade Mellow Wine

Mellow Wine is a deep peachy-coral matte blush.

Applied with light-hand on my NC2-25 skin.  This blush also gives a nice "contour" but please do not use this solely as a contouring powder.

The blush is something I would wear on a daily basis and it doesn't make my wallet cry!  As for the packaging, I actually got this blush as a gift from my friends from PureBeauty and this comes with a set so this isn't the original packaging sold in stores.  The 4g version comes with a brush.  But personally speaking, I actually like this packaging more as it is slim enough not to take up too much space on my makeup bag.  I also plan to depot this and put this on my Z-Palette.
