AMW Reviews: Max Factor Creme Puff Powder

Years ago, before graduating high school, I purchased Max Factor Creme Puff just because I need a base for touch-up on our Junior-Senior Prom.  I actually didn't know what I was gonna do with it so I ended throwing this away!

Fast forward to today, I can't believe this clueless girl turned into a makeup artist!

Max Factor has been a well-known brand worldwide but I have to be honest with you, their packaging are a bit on the "boring" side and you always see them housed in plain black plastic packaging so I don't find myself hovering around their counter as compared to their competitors Revlon, L'Oreal and Maybelline.

Thankfully, the brand created some noise November last year and I was invited to check out their new and upcoming products (Read article on AMW Reports: A Visit at Max Factor Landmark Trinoma Branch).  True enough, the brand is "upping" their game and came up with more interesting products for makeup enthusiasts like YOU and ME!  And thanks to them as they collaborated with BDJ Box and I got to try more Max Factor products (check my Unboxing post here) ! YAY!

One product that really got my interest is the 60-year old Creme Puff Pressed Powder - if this has been around for more than 6 decades...it must be good!

Max Factor Creme Puff packaging and applicator

Max Factor says ---
As a make up staple, crème puff pressed powder stands the test of time. Feel luminous with a glowing finish for iconic glamour.

  • Amazing light reflecting particles give a soft, subtle glow
  • Proven skin compatibility, so it works for all skin types
  • Superfine matte coverage
  • Use alone with moisturiser or on top of foundation

Net Weight: 21g
Shades: Translucent, Medium Beige, Nouveau Beige, Truly Fair, Tempting Touch, Natural and Golden.

AMW says ---
Pros
  • Wide range of shades to choose from.
  • Even coverage.
  • Gives light to medium coverage.
  • Can be used as a setting powder or retouch powder.
  • Works for all skin types.
  • Does not dry out my dry skin and works for my sister's oily skin!
  • No scent.
  • No white cast.
  • Price - for the quality, the price isn't bad!
  • The powder is compact, doesn't crack easily unless dropped.
    Cons
    • Seriously, the applicator!  I know this pressed powder is meant to be applied with a brush but for some who prefers to apply with a powder puff applicator, I wish they would do something about this and include a better quality sponge!
    Neutral
    • Matte-finish
    Overall
A matte finish powder foundation that gives light to medium coverage.

    Tips

    • Use a powder brush for a more natural finish.
    • Throw the free applicator and purchase a better quality one!
    • To prevent super matte finish, spritz with face mist after application.
    • If you prefer heavier coverage, apply your choice of concealer on problem areas first before you set with Max Factor Creme Puff Powder.
    • For heavier coverage, apply using a sponge with stippling motion.
    Will I repurchase?
    Yes.

To whom do I recommend this to?
Powder foundation users!  Works for all skin types.

Where to purchase and how much?
At Max Factor counters for Php575.00 (approx $12.78).

    Shade: Medium Beige
I always advise my readers and clients to test foundation on face rather than on arm!  Here's a proof on why you will purchase a wrong foundation shade if you rely on your wrist or back of your hand.  Medium Beige looks quite dark on my arm but when applied on my face, it matches my neck perfectly!  (Pictures to prove below)

    Before and After
    L- Bare face
R- Applied Max Factor Creme Puff Powder in Medium Beige
Since this was applied using a powder puff, the effect is on the light to medium light side.  My undereye darkness decreased a bit but wasn't totally covered.  My skin looks bright, flawless and best of all?  I don't look like I'm wearing any makeup at all!

Have you tried the 60 year old Creme Puff Powder?
How do you like the coverage on me?

    Keep smilin'
    Stay happy!
