Skincare Talk: Creating Radiant, Glowing Skin

It has now been the most asked query on my mailbox on how to achieve healthy, radiant glowing skin!  YAY!  Finally!  I am so happy my readers are starting to take notice the importance of skincare, which by the way, I always stress when I do workshops!

To achieve good make up looks, you need a good canvass meaning, a good and healthy skin!  So today, I will share some of the inexpensive to luxurious way to pamper your skin creating a beautiful glow from within!

(Note from author: I only mention products I've personally tried, feel free to share in the comment section below on the products you tried that works!  Let's help each other okay?)

Let's start with the most inexpensive way to the more expensive ways!  Check your budget and see which of the options listed below you would like to try.

Facial Masks
As much as you would like to think it's just a fad...no, it's definitely not!  Facial Masks are here to stay!  And my recent discoverY?  The Leaders "energy masks"!

I've tried all 4 but my favorite for instant glow is the "Yellow Energy Mask".  This variant comes with Orange (Vitamin C) that helps in creating GLOW.

Price: Around Php100.00

And of course, you can always choose the other variants that would best suit the needs of your skin.

Skincare Line

If you don't want to think and want the whole line that would work for radiant skin, I highly recommend Burt's Bees Radiance Line.  I am almost done with my Facial Cleanser and will actually repurchase!  I love how lightweight it felt perfect for summer!  The toner is alcohol-free thus making it really an ease to use even on normal and dry skin.  I haven't really used all the products at one go but I have tried the Night Cream with Royal Jelly and so far, no skin irritations or allergic reactions.  And the best part?  I wake up with a skin that looks well-rested!

Facial Cleanser Php850.00, Toner Php950.00, Day Cream and Night Cream Php1,450.00 each

Serum
Now if you don't want to splurge on a whole skin care line, feel free to inject brightening serum in between your current skincare regimen.  Let me be scientific here, molecules of serums are way smaller than moisturizers so this gets to be deposited into our skin more effectively than regular moisturizers.  Moisturizers are best applied AFTER serum application so it aids in "locking up" the extra nutrient that the serum has keeping your skin hydrated all day or all night long.

The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Overnight Triple Boost Serum
Php1,695.00
This product is perfect for users with pigmented spots, freckles and dark spots!  This serum helps inhibit the production of melanin at the same time, help enhance overall skin luminosity because of its vitamin C, liquorice, shiso and aloe vera formulation.

I've tried this lightweightcream-like serum that is perfect to be used at night.

Mary Kay MelaCEP Plus+ Ultimate Serum Serum
Php1,880.00 (Price is subject to change)
Lightweight in formulation and also suitable for sensitive skin.  This serum can reduce appearance of discoloration and improves the clarity of your skin.  I don't have much pigmentation on my skin so I asked my mom to try this and so far, she told me the effect isn't that obvious in a month plus but she can definitely see how the spots around her cheeks did not go darker.

It's getting more luxurious I tell you, if I may have to add, the Shiseido Bio-Perforamnce Glow Revival Serum Php4,998.00 deserves a spot in this list!  Why the price tag?  Well aside from the benefits of evening out your skin, reducing dark spots and sun spots, this serum can actually help improve the visible signs of aging including fine lines, wrinkles and pores!  I am definitely a believer after trying this out for 2 weeks!  As much as Shiseido advices users to follow up with a moisturizer, I can actually get away using only this and my skin indeed improves amidst the lack of sleep!

Moisturizer
Of course, if you don't want to go for serums and want to go straight to your trustee moisturizer, one brand that I highly trust when it comes to brightening is the White Lucent line from Shiseido.  I can vouch this line works!  I bought samples of these in Hong Kong years ago and in just a week, I can literally see my skin glow!

Shiseido White Lucent All Day Brightener
Php2,750.00
This is a daytime moisturizer (due to the existence of SPF36) that helps protect the skin from the sun as well as targets dark spots and evens out the skin.  This is really lightweight (imagine whipped cream) and this has micro-flecks of shimmer that can help boost glowing effect!  Don't worry, it's nothing too glittery!

BONUS
So you are probably wondering how in the world can you purchase a new skincare product if you have a lot of existing brightening products in front of you!  Fret not, continue what you're doing and maybe add an inexpensive step on your daily regimen!

Have you tried using sleeping packs?  Sleeping what?  Well, sleeping packs are actually famous in Korea!  And we all know how much we are in love with their skin!  Sleeping packs are effective in terms of sealing everything you put on your face before you go to sleep!

Tony Moly Banana Sleeping Pack
Php598.00
This has probably been advertised as a night moisturizer but after trial and error, I realized that by using this as a "supplement" works even better!  I apply a thin layer of my Tony Moly Banana Sleeping Pack after I do the cleanse, tone, moisturize.  I wake up with a bit of a sticky skin BUT after washing it off with a facial cleanser, my skin feels really soft and supple!  And whatever product I used prior to the Sleeping pack was well sealed thus I received all the benefits of my serums and moisturizers.

But, if you are on a tight budget, you can use this immediately after cleansing and you'll still receive instant hydration!  And as we all know, a well-hydrated skin will give off a healthy, glowing skin!

What other products will you add to help create radiant and glowing skin?
Product name with price if possible please?

Keep smilin'
Stay happy!

  2. **SHISEIDO!!! well the cheapest and most effective mask that I've used and tried is spring roll wrapper and tea mask! Just soak the spring roll wrapper in your favorite tea and voila..cell masks for a more nutritious and vibrant skin! You can also put essential oils like lavender, rose hip oil or tea tree for a more calming skin routine. I actually do it for more than 3 times a day if I'm really feeling good. and I only use Moroccan Argan oil before summer for my moisturizer but now I use a moisturizing gel instead from Clinique and the White plus Renew line of Laneige and of course the Shiseido Ibuki refining moisturizer.. (^....^)
