AMW Wears: NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl

Just when can a girl get tired of RED?  I say, never!
When I want that instant "made up look", I rely heavily on perfecting my red lips!  And I am very particular in choosing the right color and texture of a red lipstick because I have not only extremely dry but highly pigmented and full lips!  So ONE wrong mistake could make me look like a BIG HUGE LIPS walking around the Metro.

And obviously, we don't want that because I want to look like a girl with Huge Lips whom you want to kiss!  MWA MWA MWA >--- please don't take me seriously and please don't randomly kiss me in public! :P

My first ever, favorite RED Lip Pencil is from MAC and it is in shade Cherry.  (Post HERE)  Since I'm always on a rush and I want to always cut my "prettifying" time in half, I finally found a lip pencil that is thicker (so easier to apply) and has the same consistency and gorgeous shade that I want!

It has a name and it's called NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Red.

As much as Dragon Red may make us imagine of a FURIOUS RED type of lip color, it is quite warm and toned down when applied!

And because I always want to share some tips in my blog post, I've inserted my simple steps on how to create that gorgeous pout!

Using the tip of the Lip Pencil, create an X-mark on the cupid's bow as shown on photo below.

Gently line or create a border on the lower edge of your lower lip.  This step is crucial because you can either stay close to your lip lines, stay beyond (if you want to create thicker and fuller-looking lips) or create smaller looking lips by filling only the inner portion of your lips.

Don't forget to create an outline on the outer corners of your mouth (Mr. AMW wasn't able to take a shot of it and I don't want to because I had my mouth opened in a weird-looking angle)

Then, using the side of the pencil, fill in the color staying IN the border you created.

If you messed up, don't worry, use a Q-tip or pick up your concealer brush and your favorite concealer and remove excess lip color!

Voila!  My Dragon Red Lips may work for simple or bold eye makeup!

Hope you learn something about my simple tutorial on how to create perfect red lips using only lip pencil!
What is your favorite lip pencil?  Care to share the brand so I can have a look too?
